Some elementary school teachers have banned students from singing iKON's "Love Scenario" in classrooms because of its inappropriate content and students showing signs of addiction to catchy tunes.

"Love Scenario" has remained among the top 20 most-sung songs in noraebang, or Korean karaoke, since January, when the song was released. The music video has had over 100 million views on YouTube.

One school administrator said the song was banned because whenever "Love Scenario" played, kids sang along "excessively." Mothers have shown concern through posts on Naver cafes, talking about their children's addiction to the iKON song. One wrote: "My seven-year-old daughter keeps singing 'Love Scenario' all day ... Why is she like this?"

A student, 10, said: "Other songs are too fast and have too much English, so it's hard to sing along, but I can hear the lyrics so clearly from start to end for 'Love Scenario.'"

Lee Min-sook, who was in charge of the children's program "Kiss Kiss Kiss" for over 30 years, said: "The speed is similar to that of a children's song … except for the rap part." The lyrics include "the tingly feeling between my ribs" and "crazily loving."

"Elders also hum along to this song probably because it's catchy and the lyrics are good," a Naver user said. "How are the lyrics inappropriate? The ban is ridiculous."

Aww, let the kids sing, it is a catchy tune. Meanwhile I remember singing all of Snoop's Doggystyle on the elementary school volleyball court, which tbh the nuns prolly should put a stop to that lol.

"The speed is similar to that of a children's song "
aww that's cute lol

i get that adults want kids to sing children songs, but the lyrics is not inappropriate i feel like. back then in my country parents demanded producers to produce children songs bc kids were singing adult songs, and somehow at that time most of the popular ones were about infidelity. i can understand the outrage then.
but this one is actually pretty safe i think

I haven't read the lyric translation for the song so I was expecting something scandalous. This is the silliest reason to ban a song.

I was just watching the video with subs on and I don't see where the lyrics are that bad. When young children come across a song they like, they sing it none stop for weeks, months until something else comes along, or they grow out of it. Believe me I still know most of the songs my daughter sang as a child! :)
