TS Entertainment Addresses Song Ji Eun’s Contract & Departure From Secret, May Take Legal Action

TS Entertainment has given an updated statement in regards to Secret after Song Ji Eun’s announcement about her departure from the group.

Previously, it was reported that Song Ji Eun had submitted a request to the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board in August 2017 to verify that her contract with TS Entertainment is no longer valid and that Jun Hyosung was also in a legal dispute with the agency due to nonpayments. Song Ji Eun soon followed up with a personal announcement that she would be departing from Secret and that she had received a ruling that her contract was not valid.

On March 2, TS Entertainment stated through a press release that they as an agency, as well as the other Secret members, were not informed of Song Ji Eun’s decision to leave the group. The agency added that the final official ruling of Song Ji Eun’s request has not yet been given, and that they will be taking legal action if she continues any activities that have not been agreed upon.

#MeToo Movement Spreading to Schools

The rapidly spreading "Me Too" movement in South Korea has reached schools with students and graduates coming forward via online media to reveal past sexual misdeeds committed by teachers.

The Korean version of the Me Too movement started in January when a female prosecutor claimed that she had been sexually assaulted by her senior several years ago.

Since then, women particularly in the entertainment and cultural fields have spoken out about sexual abuses by males in senior positions.

Lee Jong Hyun will be playing the role of Oh Soo, a modern-day cupid possessing magical pollen that can make people fall in love with each other. He has the uncanny ability to detect people’s emotions through the color of the haze that appears on top of their heads. Despite his ability to make people fall in love with each other, he himself has no love life whatsoever.

Kim So Eun will be playing Seo Yu Ri, an energetic and enthusiastic police officer who has been recently dumped by her boyfriend. Although she can’t stand injustice and loves to meddle in people’s affairs, she is terrible when it comes to dating. Seo Yu Ri’s first love Jin Woo will be played by Kang Tae Oh and Oh Soo’s older brother Oh Ga Na will be played by Heo Jung Min.
