On December 12, Epik High prepared for their concert that evening by spending some time with fans through a live broadcast on Naver’s V app entitled “Epik High Concert Backstage & Opening Live.”
Tablo explains, “It’s always chaos in the time leading up to a concert, but when we have thirty minutes left until the show, we have tea and try to settle down.” He says that a lot of people expect the atmosphere backstage at a concert to be crazy, with people drinking and everything looking like a music video, but he shows that the waiting area backstage is in reality very chill and quiet.
Epik High had an impressive line up of guests that night, including Younha, JYJ‘s Junsu, Nell‘s Kim Jong Wan, and Lee Hi. In addition, they also had some special guests come visit them backstage, including Tablo’s daughter Haru and wife Kang Hye Jung, and Tukutz‘s son Yoon Woo!
Junsu also makes a surprise appearance backstage to say hello to the members during the live show, joking that he came to save them because he was watching on the way to the venue and it seemed like they were running out of things to talk about. Tablo casually says to Junsu, “Just sing fourteen songs today. We’ll do the opening and closing.” Everyone laughs, and Tukutz says, “If we do the closing, then it’s still our concert!”
Junsu says this is the first time he’s brought his dancers when performing as a guest at someone else’s concert. He adds that he’s really excited to be part of their show, and that he’s grateful they invited him.
Epik High’s next guests on their live show are Kang Hye Jung and Haru. Haru seems very shy and quiet as Tablo brings her on camera, and he explains to the guys that she became shy all of a sudden when she saw Junsu in the hallway after waking up from her nap.
Tukutz’s adorable son Yoon Woo also makes an appearance, and he shows off his aegyo and dance moves with absolutely no shyness in front of everyone watching. Tukutz recently announced that his wife is pregnant with their second child, and he takes the chance on the broadcast to announce that they’ll be having a girl.
Although everyone’s just hanging out casually backstage and relaxing in the pre-show, everything changes once the guys begin the concert and completely blow everyone away in their opening with powerful and charismatic performances of their hits “One,” “Breakdown,” and “Burj Khalifa.”
C-JeS Entertainment has shared a glimpse of the show by uploading a photo of Junsu on stage with Epik High to their Instagram! During the concert, Junsu performed “OeO,” “Loving You Keeps Me Alive” from the musical “Dracula,” and “Flower” featuring Tablo.
Epik High started their concert series “Legend 3″ on December 5 in Busan, and then held two more shows on December 11 and 12 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul.
