On August 26, broadcasting station MBC revealed, “MBC plans on holding “Duet Music Festival8+” which will feature eight girl group members having duets with non-celebrities as a Chuseok special.”

The special duet music festival will pair up each of the eight girl group members with non-celebrities and have them perform duets on stage.

SISTAR’s Soyu, A Pink’s Namjoo, AOA’s Choa, Secret’s Hyosung, miss A’s Min, 4Minute’s Gayoon, After School’s Lizzy, and MAMAMOO’s Wheein have been confirmed as the eight girl group members.

Producers from the show will be accepting duet partners through the “Touch MBC” smartphone app from now until September 6. The duet music festival will air during the Chuseok holiday in late September.

Maxim Korea Apologizes for Controversial Photo Shoot, Recalls September Issue

Men’s magazine Maxim Korea has been under fire for the past couple of weeks after it revealed its September issue that featured actor Kim Byung Ok in a photo shoot centered on crime. Specifically, its back cover image portrayed the actor smoking next to a car that has its trunk open and a woman’s tied up legs falling out of it.

With the photo, Maxim Korea also included the caption: “So girls like the ‘bad guy’ type? Here’s a true bad guy. It’s to die for, isn’t it?”


Korean netizens first voiced anger over the September issue, saying it glorified violence against women. Maxim Korea tried to explain that it was only aiming to express crime in a stylized way, not beautify sexual assault.

Despite the magazine’s explanation, the controversy continued and the international community took notice as well, with Cosmopolitan UK and Maxim U.S., condemning Maxim Korea’s September issue. Additionally, a petition through Avaaz.org has collected over 10,000 signatures in support of recall and a cease of circulation of the the issue.

In response to the growing criticism, Maxim Korea has issued an apology through an official statement, today, September 4, and has promised to recall the September issue. In the statement, Maxim Korea reaffirmed that it wasn’t the magazine’s intent to beautify violence, but it takes full responsibility for the inappropriate photo and caption. It also stated the revenue already generated from the sale of the September issue will be donated to women’s rights groups and used to help prevent sexual violence.

They filmed individual "aegyo wake-up call" videos and MBC employees voted for their favourite.

MBC Every1 didn't upload the clips to YouTube (guess they want the Naver views) but here's a video of them menboonging over the mission lol:

They called their male friends in the industry and had 3 minutes to make them respond with "Why are you so cute?" or something similar.

Jisoo called BTOB's Ilhoon, Dahye called Noel's Kang Kyunsung, Daeun called SNL Korea's Kim Mingyu, Solbin called UKISS's Soohyun, and the others were edited out (+ Sihyun didn't take part because she has no male entertainer friends lol rip).

TEARS...... ;~; Solbin all-out sobbed, poor baby.. and Cao Lu's parents are in China so she went around Seoul with cardboard cutouts of them ;A; (ft. small cameo from Zhoumi and Jia). the entire cast, MCs and panel were crying.. SO. MANY. TEARS. Daeun recorded a song for her mom, really sweet :')

On the September 5 episode MBC “Infinity Challenge,” Haha was thoroughly embarrassed as he mistakenly thought that SHINee’s fans were his fans.

Haha made his way to the airport in order to head for Otaru, Japan for the next part of the show’s delivery series. When he arrived at the airport, Haha was met with bunch of fans with cameras clustered around the entrance of the airport.

He asked, “Whose fans are you?” The girls immediately answered, “SHINee!” The fans’ immediate response disappointed Haha for he had mistakenly thought that the fans were waiting for him.

When SHINee’s van finally arrived, Haha joined the girls and yelled “Minho! It’s me!” Causing laughter from the fan girls.

B1A4's CNU suffers knee injury, reported to be undergoing surgery

According to various news reports, B1A4′s CNU has sustained a serious knee injury. The injury is serious enough to warrant surgery. However, this injury apparently happened right before releasing the group’s new album in August. Apparently, CNU didn’t want their comeback to be pushed back because of him and insisted on continuing with promotions.

Choiza and Sulli showed off their love for each other in a recent couple selife.

A single photo of the couple was displayed on social media on September 6, through the SNS of a friend of the two.

In the revealed picture, Sulli and Choiza are staring into the camera as they have bright smiles on their face. Choiza, especially, has a wide grin plastered on, showing how happy he is at the moment.

The couple confirmed their relationship August of 2014 and have been dating happily since. They are now public with their relationship and have most recently been seen hanging out with other artists of Amoeba Culture.

Sulli, after leaving f(x), will be focusing on her acting career.
