Kimchinyeo, which translates to kimchi woman, does not mean a woman who is good at making kimchi. Rather, many use that term for Korean women who excessively depend on men - mostly financially - or who think they can control men because they are women.

This is just one of many slang words devised in online communities to abase women who show particular physical or personality traits. Although these types of words have not instigated any collective displeasure or resistance from women in the past, people are starting to speak up against women being routinely belittled and stereotyped online.

BTS was recently in Sydney and Melbourne for their TRB tour. They did an interview with Official Kmusic in Melbourne and this happened (it's literally the first question):


What was your first impression when you met each other?

Rap Monster: When I first saw V and J-Hope, I couldn’t see them because they were too black.. Yeah when the nights get too dark I couldn’t find them.

Suga : Well when I met everyone I didn’t have any negative impressions towards them cause…they were all pretty nice…and yeah

J-Hope: I thought Jin was very handsome.

V: I thought Hope hyung was the visual member as he is the most handsome one.

Boy group A has refreshing charms, a good fandom and decent popularity. Objectively, they're not superstars. Their CEO picked Bigbang as their rival.

The CEO didn't want to discourage A and didn't tell them about competing against Bigbang. Instead, he only made his company workers do the work.

A Bigbang article was on a main portal site with 800 comments. On the same day, there was also an article of A but with 10 comments. The CEO ordered the workers to comment on the article until it surpassed the comments on Bigbang article. The workers were not allowed go home until they surpassed the number.

However, there were only 4 workers and the comments on Bigbang article kept increasing. The workers spend the whole night but couldn't catch up. They called their CEO, begged him that they couldn't do it and went home. This was not the end......

Yoo Seung Woo will be releasing his first album under his new agency Starship Entertainment.

His agency revealed that the singer is currently in the final stages of preparing for a comeback later this month. After signing his contract in February, the young star has been busy preparing songs. He has already finished recording his new songs and will be filming his music video soon.

Considered a multi-talented star with his producing skills, vocal talent, and stage presence, Starship Entertainment created a special new acoustic label for him.

Yoo Seung Woo previously became known through “Superstar K 4” and released his first album in 2013.

Leessang - Joomadeung Ft Mi-Woo + New Album soon!

Hip-hop duo Leessang, made up of Gary and Gil, will finally be returning with brand new music for the first time in almost three years!

On July 2, a representative of Leessang Company shared, “Leessang is planning to showcase a new digital single this coming July 15 at 12 p.m. (KST). This will be the first song released in Leessang’s name in over two years.”

The agency rep added, “While they have always continued to work on music production until now, it was difficult to decide on a comeback timeframe. There are also plans to release a full-length album.”

However, Leessang currently has no plans to promote their new music on public broadcast, although they are thinking positively of carrying out activities through stages at events and festivals.

i feel like these are getting kind of redundant but it's seriously the last one and i figured: i made a post for the first conversation so it made sense to make one for the second. (i also want to help spead the translation because my friend spent a long, long time trying to get it all together). to rehash a bit: on july 12th jonghyun took to his sns accounts in an attempt to clear up accusations of him being misogynist. this led to him following two non-fans after they had tweeted at him criticisms of a comment he'd made on his radio show as a means to hold private conversations with them - which he okayed to be shared. you can find a long translation of the first conversation that he held here. the second conversation was uploaded late on july 13th kst and was translated today. and... yeah, everything is behind a cut because this conversation is even more (somehow) longer than the other. (tbh, it's because it's a much more casual conversation but still very interesting / important.) (note: this is the original post with his tweets, ect.)
