S: I feel like I’m immersing in photography, reading magazines albums again. There was a period of time where I did not care about them, but I recently got immersed in them again. I’ve always loved writing things like diaries. Not long ago I wrote short lyrics, it will be great if it can be part of the next album.
Money most spent on: Coffee and cosmetics.
S: I really spent a lot on coffee and money, I love cosmetics especially, I don’t really buy basic ones but a lot of colored ones and I like light tanned and grey. Even though I have 3 to 4 of the same item at home, but because of the slight difference in color shades, I will always buy. It’s interesting to shop for cosmetics, interesting to buy them too, and I like applying them. I like doing makeup myself. I’ve been doing light makeup that doesn’t look like I’ve applied makeup recently, although I used to like heavy makeup.
Playlist includes songs by: The Vinylhouse, Jeon Geun Hwa, Alicia Keys and Epitone Project.
S: The songs I listen to the most are The Vinylhouse and Jeon Geun Hwa’s <우리 그때는> and Alicia Keys’ 'That’s When I Know'. And I really like Epitone Project’s <나는 그 사람이 아프다>, I feel sad whenever I listen to it.
Singers that I want to collaborate with are: Jeon Geun Hwa and Epik High.
S: I like Jeon Geun Hwa, the song <툭툭> is really good. And if I collaborate with Epik High I want to rap.
I’ve never realized it before, but recently the things I notice a lot are: Scenery and sky.
S: I used to not notice sceneries and sky, it’s to the point where I don’t remember seeing them. When I was strolling with my mom when I was younger, my mom said “Maple Road is so pretty”, but I said “That’s pretty? Aren’t they just trees and sky.” But a few years ago I started saying “Wow, look at the sky” and took photos of it, I also said “It’s a pity that the photo can’t fill the beautiful scenery”, haha. I did not care about it when I was younger, but sometimes I get emotional as I look at them nowadays.
I like: Tang Wei, Honey Lee, Lily Collins.
S: Tang Wei and Honey Lee are really pretty and act well. I also like Lindsey Wixson and Lily Collins, I like girls who have their own charms.
The movies that I find meaningful are: Gone Girl, 연애의 온도 and Stuck In Love.
S: The movie that I found most meaningful recently is
The place that I find most comfortable is: Inside the car.
S: Inside the car is truly my own personal space. I used to not be able to sleep if it’s not inside the car or the bed in my room. Back then I sleep in the car frequently thus I got familiarized with the ambience, but I can’t sleep if it’s too quiet too. To me, the time in the car is very precious and I want to fully enjoy it. But sometimes when I fall asleep because I’m too tired, I will sleep very well. Aren’t there noises on the expressways? I record and play it when I’m at home before going to sleep. I sleep well even if I’m not in a car now, but sleeping in the car is still the most comfortable. Sometimes I drive to de-stress too.
Exercising methods that I like most are: Riding a bicycle and stretching exercises.
S: I like to ride bikes when there is wind. Besides that, I like to do stretching exercises at home. I don’t like exercises that requires a lot of effort, hehe.
Food that I eat frequently when I’m exhausted is: Spicy rice cakes/엽기떡볶이.
S: Yes, spicy rice cakes, haha. I don’t like eating sweet stuff, I like salty and spicy food. Actually I don’t think of a particular thing to eat, I feel that it’s the best to eat what you want to eat when you feel like eating.
Favorite drink: Iced Americano.
S: Coffee, I also like drinking hot coffee, but because I like it when it’s cooling so I drink iced americano most of the time. If it’s a drink, I like it as long as it’s cold.
I like everything when it’s: Natural.
S: I dislike being fake the most in this world, thus when the ambience natural and comfortable, I find it unforgettable. For example, there was once I met my good friend but after we met, we did not talk a lot so we just went back and we felt like drinking alcohol so we drank, aren’t there times like these where your mood is good? We can talk about the past, we can also talk about our problems. It feels really good to chat like this naturally.
Hair/hairstyle I like the most: Bright colored ones.
S: I currently have this hairstyle. I like long hair so I want to keep leaving my hair long. I personally do not like having to cut my hair short suddenly, so I hate short cut. One day, I wanted to have hair that isn’t too long or too short all of a sudden, so I went with the thought of the hairstyle and got the hairstylist to cut it for me and also made it thinner, I’m really contented with it now. I don’t like black hair, I like bright ones, it seems fun to have a photoshoot with bright hair. Because my hair isn’t very good so I feel that black is very basic, haha.
I look the best in: Basic-looking clothes.
S: Compared to fanciful ones, I feel that clothes that are simple and plain suit me more. It’s the same for colors, compared to strong colors, I feel that I look better in lighter colors. Wearing fanciful outfits may make me look worse instead.
Something that exist like it’s my friend: Rings
S: Rings? Ah, yes! Where is my ring? (When she realized she wasn’t wearing a ring, she went to look for it before continuing with the interview) Rings to me are like my friends, I wear them wherever I go. My mood becomes better when I wear them. If I don’t wear them, I’ll remove all of them before going out. As for colors, I like antique bronze or rose gold.
If I have a vacation, I want to go to: Wherever.
S: If there isn’t a specific place to go, anywhere is fine as long as it’s a break… I have to write this sentence, haha. Even the front of my house is okay.
Compared to staying at home, I like: Going out.
S: I like going out, I’m the type of person where I can’t stay in the house. It’s not that I hate my house, I just feel that if you have a break/resting period, staying at home is a waste of time.
Till present, the best town I’ve been to is: Chamonix, Mont Blanc.
S: Chamonix, Mont Blanc in the Southern part of France. I went there to film a commercial and after the filming, I went around with my own camera to take photos of many locals. I cannot forget that place, quietness, leisure, and I don’t know why but the people there give off a very friendly impression. Firstly, I was able to walk on the streets alone without anyone recognizing me, it felt good and comfortable. I want to be like the other girls and go to the beach with pretty makeup. Compared to places with many people or Koreans or anyone who would recognize me, even if it’s just a little, I will feel a bit uncomfortable. But when I was there (Mont Blanc), it feels like I went on a trip myself, I can walk around, take photos, I really enjoyed myself. I actually do not have any travelling experiences, where do I want to go……. I would be at a lost too. Although there isn’t a specific plan, but I want to go on a trip. I will go think about it with more thought after this interview, haha.

IMO this photoshoot is the most Suzy-like she has ever done. And whenever I read her interviews I can't help but be proud of her and feel sad for her.

In a recent broadcast of Moon Hee Jun‘s Real 15 via Mnet, EXID‘s Hani and Solji made an appearance as a guest where Hani confessed she wants to follow a new career path.

“I know enough of the world now to have almost lost the capacity of being much surprised by anything,” wrote Charles Dickens. Well, Charlie was clearly no K-pop fan, because if there is one thing that Korean musical acts like to do, it’s surprise us. From pole-dancing girl groups to armor-clad boy bands, join us on a journey through the shocking, the daring and the downright bizarre as we run down the 10 most surprising K-pop comeback concepts of all time.
1. Crayon Pop – “Bar Bar Bar”
The living embodiment of the surprise comeback, then-fledgling talent agency Chrome Entertainment’s girl group Crayon Pop debuted in 2012 with a mini album that contained the songs “Bing Bing” and “Saturday Night.” The K-pop scene at the time was already awash with legions of girl groups wearing multicolored leggings and copious plastic accessories singing dance tracks, and Crayon Pop’s entrance onto the K-pop stage was barely noticed by most. Those who did catch the first few songs mainly just shrugged with disinterest. So possibly only the wildest of optimists would have predicted the success of the girls’ June 2013 “Bar Bar Bar” comeback. But the matching motorscooter helmets, the red polo shirts and the five-cylinder piston dance were just too much cute and crazy for anyone to resist, and the group went viral across the planet. Within two months, international music powerhouse Sony had bought up Chrome’s exclusive global distribution rights. And with a full-group comeback scheduled for later this month (with Shinsadong Tiger taking charge of production), there may be more delightful chaos heading to your TV screens in the weeks ahead.
2. VIXX – “Voodoo Doll”
The VIXX boys had hinted at the fact that they had a dark side with the zombie-dance theme for “On and On”, as well as the “Hyde” music video, which was suitably full of skulls and snakes and stuff. But when they dropped “G.R.8.U,” their most poppy and innocent release to date, it looked like they had finally decided to scrap the scary and soften their image. Not so. Their next release, “Voodoo Doll” immediately plunged the boys straight back, deeper than ever, into a gory underworld full of spooky contact lenses, gouging and enough black eyeliner to fill a small warehouse – as well as a music video that is certainly not for the faint of heart. If you are talking scary concepts in K-pop, you are almost certainly talking VIXX.
3. Rainbow Pixie – “Hoi Hoi”
OK, this one is cheating a bit, as it is not exactly a comeback per se. Nonetheless, hear me out. It was January 2012. Through a steady flow of releases like “A,” “To Me” and “Sweet Dream,” Rainbow had slowly but surely carved itself out a niche as the thinking K-pop fan’s favorite girl group. The group’s musical concepts were sophisticated and mature, the outfits and choreography were cool and understated. This was a group that simmered, but never boiled over: never oppressively sexy, never sickeningly cute. And then Rainbow Pixie happened. A subunit project that involved garish costumes, Harry Potter-style magic wands, a frenetic dance routine and a song that sounded like it had been dipped in a vat of liquid sugar. It was a release that most Rainbow fans like to pretend never happened. Fortunately, the girls have since returned to what they do best with their current “Black Swan” comeback. File “Hoi Hoi” under “What were they thinking?”
4. Topp Dogg – “Annie”
The first time I pressed play on the music video for Topp Dogg’s “Annie,” I thought I had followed the wrong link. Baggy, ankle-length pants. Jackets with shoulder pads you could land a helicopter on. Shrill keyboard sounds. And an instrumental track positively drenched in hi-hat. No joke, I thought this was a Bobby Brown video from circa 1989. But, no, this was Topp Dogg dipping into the k-pop box of retro concept surprises. While other K-pop acts have looked for inspiration in the 1950s rock ‘n’ roll scene (think Secret’s “Shy Boy”) or 1970s’ disco (such as T-ara’s “Lovey Dovey”), Topp Dogg decided to go with a New Jack Swing theme for this track, a song released to celebrate the group’s first anniversary of all things. Because when you think first anniversaries, you naturally think MC Hammer and Mr T-style gold chains and people who think that this makes for an acceptable album cover.
5. Girl’s Day – “Darling”
Not many people would have been brave enough to predict in 2012 that Girl’s Day were on the verge of becoming one of the most influential acts in K-pop. Although the group had had a few minor dance-themed hits like “Nothing Lasts Forever” and “Tilt Your Head,” the girls were mostly known for light, fluffy, cute tracks like “Twinkle Twinkle” and “Hug Me Once,” with concepts that saw them appear on album covers in wedding dresses and inoffensive school uniform-look outfits. When member Jihae left the group at the end of 2012, the group’s debut as a four-piece was a mature look and an equally mature sound for “Don’t Forget Me.” It looked like this more considered look was going to be Girl’s Day go-to concept from hereon in, but they instead went on a run of releasing a series of sexy-concept songs that ran from “Expectation” through “Female President” to “Something,” each one more popular than the other. And then, at the very height of their sexy-based success, the girls ditched the concept completely and returned to cute with “Darling.” Surprise, it seems, is what Girl’s Day does best.
6. EXO – “Growl”
Following up what was an innocent-enough look for their 2012 debut “MAMA,” the EXO boys first came back with a rough, tough and slightly scary look for their sophomore album. The “Wolf” music video and promotions were a carnival of eerie-looking limb trees, dry ice and eye-liner. OK, so the overarching concept is boys (“MAMA”) to men (“Wolf”). That makes perfect sense. But for the next song, “Growl,” they decide to promote from the album, they go with…er, school uniforms. On paper, it sounds like a horrific idea, but it actually turned out to be a whole bag of win. But, well, if anyone could rock a look based on the overly tight and oppressively grey school uniforms that Korean schoolboys are forced to sport, it was almost certainly going to be EXO.
7. After School – “First Love”
By June 2013, Korean girl groups had done the sexy concept to death. There was really nothing left to add, it seemed. So when After School decided to put out yet another sexy-themed release, it looked like K-pop fans were on a one-way trip to overkill city. But the girls somehow managed to turn the genre on its head with “First Love,” thanks to an almost impossible-looking choreography routine that involved carting numerous metal poles from music show to music show and dancing up and down them with remarkable acrobatic ease. The whole thing was done without a hint of the kind of sleaze that a K-pop pole dance routine would seem to imply, and ended up setting the bar very high for girl groups throughout the whole industry.
8. BEAST – “Fiction”
This one is not so much of a change of visual concept as a complete change of approach to music. Prior to 2011, the BEAST boys had already carved a name for themselves as purveyors of relentlessly upbeat, high-octane dance hits like “Shock” and “Breathe.” Although they occasionally made time for a few slower-paced numbers such as “Clenching My Fists Tight,” BEAST never really went in for dark and pensive as a musical theme. Until “Fiction,” that is. While previous releases make you feel like you ought to be in a gym somewhere bench-pressing twice your bodyweight, “Fiction” has an introspective feel that the group would go on to perfect with songs like “Shadow.” The look was not radically different, but this was the audio equivalent of discovering that your PE teacher spends his weekends locked in a room writing reams of existential poetry.
9. Orange Caramel – “Catallena”
For many people, Orange Caramel were just another of the scores of painfully similar cute-concept girl groups that were flooding the K-pop scene circa 2010. And, for many, the After School subunit’s “Magic Boy” debut was anything but magic. The subsequent release “Shanghai Romance” had a few quirky moments in it, but for many K-pop fans, this was a subunit that was going nowhere fast. “Lipstick” was a step in the direction of crazy, but nothing had prepared the K-pop world for the absolute anarchy of “Catallena.” Replete with a synth-heavy reworking of a traditional Indian wedding ditty, sushi-themed headpieces, and a dance that defined the spring (and much of the summer) of 2014, this insane mix of seemingly random elements combined to make a perfect storm of puzzled delight for listeners – and catapulted all three of its members to a level of popularity they had probably never even dreamed of.
10. BIGBANG – “Fantastic Baby”
When it comes to out-there concepts, YG Entertainment acts pretty much have a handle on producing visuals that unfailingly get fashion writers’ knickers in knots and Illuminati-obsessed conspiracy theorists frothing at the mouth. But the concepts used in “Fantastic Baby” might even make Lady Gaga’s designers blush. The boys appeared onstage to perform the track with asymmetrical haircuts, bits of gladiator armor and green three-piece suits, but the music video was where abstract really kicked in. G-Dragon sits on a throne made of rubble while legions of gas-masked protester and riot police punch lumps out of eat other, surrounded what looks like kilometers of his own (bright red) hair, T.O.P appears to be doing a Napoleon impression and a topless Daesung is chained to a wall. It’s all great fun, but nobody alive can explain this comeback concept. Just nobody.

Media outlet Dispatch traveled to Jeju Island, the filming location of “Tutoring Across Generations,” in order to piece together what happened the day of Lee Tae Im and Yewon‘s conflict.
Dispatch interviewed people who participated in the “Tutoring Across Generations” filming. An old lady who participated in the filming as a diver was one of the people interviewed. The lady explained that she had already met Lee Tae Im before for a previous filming. She described Lee Tae Im as a kind girl who was like a daughter to her.
1. Before the filming
When the lady heard the news that Lee Tae Im cursed and screamed at Yewon, she was very surprised. However, she did point out that Lee Tae Im looked extremely distressed that day. When Lee Tae Im arrived at her house, she cried while telling the lady that she had failed in all areas of her career, and was sure that her drama “My Heart Twinkle Twinkle” was not going to end well.
2. During the meal
The lady also revealed that before filming in the ocean, Yewon, Lee Jae Hoon, and Lee Tae Im dined together. Because Yewon and Lee Tae Im had met for the first time, Yewon introduced herself and even sang some of her songs to help Lee Tae Im recognize her. Lee Tae Im also told Yewon the movies and dramas she featured in.
3. Right before the diving scene
Right before Lee Tae Im had to go in the water, the lady shared that the actress looked happy. According to her, Lee Tae Im was singing to herself and even had friendly conversations with the staff.
4. During the filming
Lee Tae Im, Lee Jae Hoon, and some of the divers, including the old lady, went into the icy winter ocean. Yewon and a Vietnamese diver named Luenkini waited outside the water.
5. Lee Tae Im comes out of water earlier than expected
After 30 minutes of being in the water, Lee Tae Im came out. Other divers had not noticed that Lee Tae Im left them, as they were busy catching fish in the water. When Lee Tae Im was out, Yewon came up to her asking, “Aren’t you cold?” According to Luenkini, this was when Lee Tae Im suddenly burst out in anger and started cursing at Yewon. Luenkini explained that Yewon did not talk down to Lee Tae Im, which was what Lee Tae Im had claimed. There was no apparent reason for Lee Tae Im to be mad at the singer. However, Lee Tae Im went on cursing and screaming for around two to three minutes. Yewon teared up during this time.
Luenkini explained, “I was so surprised. Yewon just asked her if she was cold but Lee Tae Im suddenly changed. She cursed with words I couldn’t understand. She even raised her hand as if to hit her. The staff had to come and stop her.” She then added, “Yewon didn’t do anything to make her mad. Everything just happened abruptly.”
6. Afterwards
After the outburst, Lee Tae Im stopped filming and left the set. Yewon went into a bathroom and cried for about thirty minutes. After coming out, she comforted the startled staff and claimed that she was okay. Luenkini showed Dispatch a picture that she took with Yewon after the incident. In the picture, Yewon has swollen eyes after crying.
According to a staff of the show, Yewon filmed the ending with Lee Jae Hoon because Lee Tae Im had left the scene. “No one would have been surprised if [Yewon] said she wanted to leave. She was treated [horribly by Lee Tae Im]… But Yewon firmly said that she wanted to film the ending,” said the staff member.
