I found something from 2013 that says Viewers Preference - 10%, Broadcast Counts - 20%, I know that there were changes made for certain music shows, I can't remember if MB was one of them.

Tbf they're doing pretty good digitally this time, almost always top 20-30 on melon and #2 on gaon this week. I honestly never expected this song to do well digitally because it's kind of bland, but Korea tend to like simple/bland songs so maybe that's why lol.

Of course fans buy digitally, but I've heard that most of the fan buying happens in the first couple of days after the song is released and after that if it doesn't catch the general public attention, the song will flop. Fans can stream to make the song chart better but it's still not enough to make a song being top 20-30 all the time. If it was that easy, groups with big/decent-sized fandoms like Suju, BTS, GOT7, etc wouldn't flop. In fact, D&E's song is flopping. I think I even saw them at #90 before and it's only been around for like 2 days. VIXX's previous released also kind of flopped. I think this is the first time they're doing really decently tbh.

Mte. Idk why people are saying "fandom power". Yeah, they obviously have great physical sales and fans voting for them on music shows but they're also doing pretty good digitally this time. Still top 20-30 on melon and #2 on gaon's weekly charts. Lots of groups have won being way lower than them in charts so idk why people call this fandom power when at least they're legit doing well digitally and not winning while being #80 like SuJu.

Afaik vixx was within top 20 of the charts for the week that was eligible for the wins. But i guess if it's not a digital hit, people still call that as failure or whatever. if people on naver are playing the "fandom power" "physical sales" card when they're aware of what is being played on radio/tv then I can't expect ifandom to be aware of the chart situation unless they're fans. Forget the fact that album physical sales only count 5% (maybe 10% for some) and that some music shows don't even have sns/voting which is where fandom voting would make the most difference.

Yeah, I remember they were top 10-20 all the time on melon and some other charts last week. I think lots of people forget that music shows use the ranks from the previous week and not the ones from the current week. They're still top 20-30 on melon anyway, which it's a pretty decent position.

Yup, I've seen lots of people calling flops to anyone under the top 10 which it's insane. It's like people see everything as black or white. If you're not ~slaying~ (like being top 5-10 all the time, especially top 5) you're immediately flopping, when charting top 15-20 or even top 30 is far from a flop. There are a lot of middle points between slaying and being a complete flop ffs.
It's also funny how they're always saying that digital sales = public recognition and blah blah but when it's a group they don't like = it must be fandom power/they're robbing an empty house/they have a famous collaborator/whatever excuse. Aren't y'all always saying that physical = fandom and digital = public? Just accept when a group/artist is doing well/decently. It's not that hard.
