Lotte Entertainment's presale to North American, European and Asian territories marks a rare feat for the local period genre.
South Korean maritime action film The Pirates was picked up by 15 countries across North America, Europe and Asia at the Cannes Film Market, Lotte Entertainment announced Wednesday. The successful presale for the summer release title marks a rare feat for local period films.
Preselling rights went to distributors across North and South Americas, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Mexico, India, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Myanmar, among other territories.

The pulsating realism of Directors' Fortnight feature "A Hard Day" came at the price of actors enduring real pain -- but the Seoul production of "Avengers 2" has inspired the local industry to enforce safety on the set.
In 2003, South Korean actor Park Joong-hoon made headlines for demanding a "Hollywood-style contract" for Once Upon a Time in the Battlefield, as he specified strict working hours on the set. The actor, who was one of the first local stars to be cast in U.S. films in the 1990s, made the gesture in hopes of implementing structure in the rather "flexible" Korean filmmaking process -- but over a decade down the road Korean cast members remain largely exposed to compromising situations on the set.
"Korean cinema has a long way to go," said Jo Jin-woong about filming action scenes in A Hard Day. The film has been noted for its raw, intense sequences and is being shown at the 2014 Cannes Directors' Fortnight.
"The dangerous moments you see in the film were actually dangerous situations [captured on camera]. And the scenes where characters are in pain, we [the actors] were truly hurting. It really was very difficult," he said.

In South Korea, you can bite into a black and white cream cookie sandwich called a “Gameo”, made by the Korean company Orion. Or, you can eat Haitai’s ring of buttery Danish-style pastry cookie called a “Butter Ring”. While these imitations of foreign cookie brands may seem similar in every way, Korean consumers are angry that they are more expensive than the imported version. Protest was especially sharp after reports last week that snack contents decreasing.

benihime99.livejournal.comThere’s a new girl group in town, and its name conjures images of sweet and refreshing fruit. Named “Berry Good,” this five-member girl group has just released their debut single, “Love Letter,” and its music video.
“Love Letter” is a remake of an older song by first-generation idol group Click-B. The music video for “Love Letter” imagines a fairytale-like wedding of young girls’ dream, as explained by the group’s agency. “The music video is reminiscent of pure and bright image of 1990s girl groups S.E.S and Fin.K.L”
Berry Good is made up of members Taeha (leader), Yira (rapper), Subin, Nayeon, and Goeun (youngest).

yumi99.livejournal.comCrime Scene (크라임씬) is JTBC's new Saturday Night murder mystery show, where the cast of six celebrities is brought to a crime scene and take the roles of six suspects. They use their investigative and deductive skills to catch the criminal amongst themselves.
Check the post for the first episode for a longer summary of the show and how it proceeds.
This is the second part of the first case, where the cast are investigating the murder of a wealthy CEO.
Line-up consists of Henry (the completely off-the-kilter brother-in-law), NS Yoon-G (pretty nurse dubbed as "the devil" by the cast), Jun Hyun-Moo (suspicious car driver with a possible agenda), Park Ji-Yoon (wife the victim had cheated on), Hong Jin-Ho (nervous and stuttering subcontractor who wanted a loan from the victim) and Lim Bang-Geul (the daughter who likes to spend money left and right).
So, it's time for last investigation of the crime scene, mini interrogations and the arrest of the one who cast thought did it.
And also for the reveal if they caught the real criminal or not.
So, before the staff reveal the criminal, do choose in the poll who you think is the murderer.

T-ara’s Jiyeon, who recently made her debut with her first solo single “Never Ever,” appeared on the May 20 episode of Mnet’s “4 Things Show: Outrageous Interview.”
Jiyeon also had a psychological test during the program, where she vocalized her serious stresses and concerns. The psychologist said, “Right now, in your current state, you need professional help. You’re having a really hard time right now. It’s important that you find a place you can go to recharge, and good people and relationships.” At this, Jiyeon started to shed tears. “At some point along the way, I feel like I’ve lost myself. There’s more to me than what people may necessarily think, but I wonder if I should give up. I feel like I’ve lost myself.”
“Now, when I think of my image with T-ara, I feel like that is me. I don’t even know myself anymore. At a certain point, I’ve become afraid of people’s gazes.”
At the same time, Jiyeon said, “I don’t think it’s unfair [that some people don't look at me positively]. Because those opinions were formed from things that I’ve done, it’s on me.”
In related news, Jiyeon, the youngest member of T-ara, just made her first official solo debut with “Never Ever.”

Response has been pretty explosive amongst fans of the group, and several members from EXO-M and EXO-K have shared their thoughts on the matter, but not a whole lot has been covered in regards to how a lawsuit like this works.

Singin’ In The Rain is a classical musical full of tap dancing and ballet, and SM Entertainment is getting fans hyped up with the official trailer that introduces each character.
Singin’ In The Rain is about a musician and dancer, Don Lockwood who has to tolerate the leading lady Lina Lamont since she thinks their on screen romance is real. A film they both took part in was converted into motion picture with sounds, but due to Lina’s dreadful voice, the crew members had to replace her voice with Kathy Sheldon’s, an aspiring singer. After Lina finds out Don is in love with Kathy, she tries everything she can to sabotage their romance.
The musical will play at the Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul starting June 5 to August 3. Tickets can be purchased through Interpark.

The use of performances from the enthusiastic idol group has eventually been replaced. This is a sad story about a female student who passed away due to the Sewol tragedy. The soul may have become ‘a thousand winds’ and lingered around the concert hall.
A female student from Danwon High School, Ms.Yoo, liked a 7 membered hip hop group. She who would eagerly take part in fan club activities, was planning to go to the concert that she had wanted to go to so much after a school trip.

“After coming back from the school trip, my daughter had said that there was a concert on her birthday so I had promised to let her go…”
However, Ms.Yoo who left to travel on Sewol for her school trip, returned as a cold lifeless body. The unfortunate news was also delivered to the idol group members.
The member whom Ms.Yoo liked the most came to find the funeral with a personally written letter in hand.

"He sat there for an hour and a half, talking and crying before he left. He said that he had lost a precious fan.. he really cried a lot of tears before he left.”
Then, in the past weekend, the concert which was held back due to the Sewol tragedy was opened.
Ms.Yoo’s parents who were specially invited, embraced a small photo in their arms as they watched the concert of the boys that she liked.
