NO1CURR ABOUT LEESSANG: WONDER GIRL'S "BE MY BABY" IS MELON'S 2ND MOST POPULAR SONG OF THE YEAR

Just 20 days into its release, the Wonder Girls' latest comeback track, "Be My Baby," has become the second most popular song of the year on digital music site Melon!

"Be My Baby" was released this past November 7, and for the three weeks into its release, has been ranked first on Melon's daily chart 19 times in a row. This feat comes just after Leessang's "Turned Off the TV," which currently holds the first rank title with 25 consecutive first places.

Other popular songs of the year include IU's "Someday" and Park Bom's "Don't Cry," which are both tied in third place with 18 consecutive wins, and GG's "I Cheated" in fifth with 15 consecutive wins. The Wonder Girls' feat makes it all that more special for their producer, Park Jin Young, since it is his second song to rank in the top five most popular songs of the year, the first being his other production, IU's "Someday."

"Since their comeback, the Wonder Girls have been actively promoting amidst the support and love of many. They've achieved the feat of becoming the second most popular song of the year, which we're all grateful for. This will definitely be of great strength for the Wonder Girls as they continue to work their hardest in their promotions. We would like to thank everyone once again, and ask that they continue to give us their support," said officials of JYP Entertainment.

The Wonder Girls will be continuing the momentum with further promotions for "Be My Baby."

Bang & Zelo reveals a picture of new member Zelo

A few days ago, we revealed that power rookie Bang Yong Guk will be debuting in a unit group comprised of himself and fellow labelmate Zelo in a group simply titled, Bang & Zelo.

15-year-old Zelo’s looks have been hidden behind a curtain thus far, but his face has been finally revealed. In the released picture, his large eyes and cute expression come into focus while displaying a fashionably chic ensemble.

Bang & Zelo will make their debut on December 2nd with their first title track, “Never Give Up“.

T-ara’s Jiyeon cast for ‘Dream High 2′!

The star-studded cast for the upcoming KBS production ‘Dream High 2‘ has been generating widespread excitement as of late, and the latest idol to step into the highly-anticipated drama will be none other than T-ara‘s Jiyeon!

With several acting gigs already under her belt, Jiyeon will bring her acting talents over to her new role, which has yet to be specified. The casting was decided at a meeting with the producers last weekend.

“Although I’m already busy with domestic and foreign promotions, after reading the synopsis for ‘Dream High 2′ I decided to take it because it was a role that I wanted to play. I wanted to relive memories of my trainee days and as a hardworking student before it was too late,” she said. “I’ll be putting a lot of effort into it, so please be expecting it.”

Our Prayers Have Been Heard! 2NE1 Park Bom Will Sing Live for 2011 MAMA!

As we reported earlier, the members of 2NE1 took off for the 2011 M.net Asian Music Awards (MAMA) on November 27. However, it appeared that Park Bom’s performance would be hindered because of a severe cold. It was reported that she couldn’t speak to her family on the phone. If her condition did not improve she would lip sync her parts.

But in the morning of November 28, she wrote on her twitter, “Even though my voice is a bit huskier and hoarse I will still perform live!~~~*^____^*” It appears that she is announcing that she will be singing live for the 2011 MAMA.

Fans that have come across this message have stated, “I believe you will do well. We don’t’ have to worry right?” “I hope you get better, I’m so worried,” “Of Course! Who is Park Bom~ I believe that you will give your best performance.”

For the 2011 MAMA, 2NE1 is currently one of the nominees for “Best Performance Girl Group." The award show will begin on November 29, at 7pm (South Korean time) and is being held at Singapore. The broadcast will be live via M.Net.

SNSD‘s Hyoyeon revealed that showing aegyo was the most difficult part about being an idol for her.


On November 26th’s episode of ‘Invincible Youth 2‘, the girls of G8 discussed their stress factors in a small talk show led by maknaes Suzy and Jiyoung.

Hyoyeon confessed, “It’s really hard for me to pretend. I get really embarrassed when I have to pretend to be cute and pretty. I am really easygoing. As part of SNSD, it’s hard to be easygoing.”

She continued, “The other members are good at aegyo. When we monitor our performances, the ones who show aegyo get on camera the most. I try really hard to do it, but I can’t because it tickles my heart. I can act really suave and cool, but acting pretty and cute still tickles my heart.”

Spike Lee’s Version of ‘Oldboy’ Has New Elements Meant to ‘Throw Off’ Audiences Familiar With Original



The possibility of an American remake of South Korean revenge film Oldboy has been a worrisome thing for a few years now. But this year Spike Lee was tapped to direct, which immediately made the new Oldboy a more attractive, or at least a more interesting proposition. With Josh Brolin set to star and Colin Firth playing the film’s revenge-seeking antagonist, things are looking petty damn good.

We know that Mark Protosevich is scripting and that he is basing his take on the existing movie, as well as on the manga that inspired it, but that he’s also writing new material to make this version stand on its own to some extent. We still don’t have concrete details about the new ingredients, but the film’s producer says that some of the new stuff is being created specifically to throw off audiences who know the original film.

In an interview with Collider, producer Roy Lee says that the new film is very similar in some ways to the Park Chan-Wook version, but that,

Mark Protosevich has come up with new elements to it that will throw off the audience who have seen the original movie because there are new characters and new situations that present themselves in a way that changes the story but eventually go in the same direction.

( The ending will be something that the audiences will all be . . . especially the fans of the original will be very happy with. In fact, some may consider it to be a bit darker. )

On one hand, it's nice to see filmmakers attempt to create a new experience in their remake of a film and presenting something different rather than a shot for shot remake à la The Departed; however, this shit is irritating and condescending at best, it seems, to add new characters that change the story for the sake of disrupting fans' expectations, as opposed to filmmakers just trying to make a good movie. And the bits about the ending being "darker" and Spike Lee wanting the hallway scene to be his defining moment . . . ugh try harder tbh.

Lee Hyori and singer-songwriter Lee Sang Soon have revealed that they are currently "meeting each other as more than just friends". Hyori's company revealed that the two have known each other for over an year and for the past 5 months, have been meeting up more frequently. Although the company did not reveal that they were specifically dating, they stated that they were more than just friends.

On Lee Sang Soo's side, an individual revealed that the songwriter has said that he was dating Hyori.

Recently, Koreaboo reported that "Hyori was suspected to be in a relationship" because of a ring she was seen wearing in a photo.

The photo was uploaded by the singer herself on November 19th, and shows her pet dog Sunshimie taking a nap with her. She is in a pajama suit and is lolling on the couch, giving off an extremely comfortable and laid-back vibe. In particular the ring on her finger had caught netizens' attention.

Experts have revealed that they believe the two artists are not completely revealing that they are currently dating because of their age. Due to the both of them being over 30, netizens will immediately believe that they are about to marry or may have been dating for years. It is suspected that the two are attempting to keep their relationship "low-key".

One Way's Chance to produce B1A4's new album

Recently announcing that he will be working on MBLAQ's comeback album next year, One Way's Chance made another announcement that he is also helping his juniors B1A4 for their upcoming release.

Just awhile ago, Chance updated his Twitter account with a message saying, "From today on, I’m staying in the work studio for my B1A4 dongsaengs’ album. Sta~rt." The tweet further caught the attention of B1A4's fans, as preparations for the group's upcoming release have been confirmed.

This will not be the first time that Chance will work on B1A4's music, as he previously made a track for the group. The track "My Love" was included in their second mini-album "it B1A4."

For the meantime, Chance nor the rest of B1A4 and their management have released any other information about their new album. So stay tuned for more updates!

Cheap SM Strikes Again...

SNSD will be promoting “Mr. Taxi“ as their next single until the end of 2011.

SM Entertainment stated, “SNSD will perform ‘Mr. Taxi’ on the December 2nd broadcast of ‘Music Bank‘, and will be accelerating their promotions until the end of the year.”

SNSD released the Japanese version of “Mr. Taxi” this past April while they were promoting in Japan. The single, which was a track on the group’s first full-length Japanese album, has previously reached the top of the Oricon chart as well.

The Korean version of “Mr. Taxi” was performed on Korean music programs when they made a comeback with “The Boys“, and in July for SNSD’s concert. Their agency commented, “Their 3rd album title track has been 1st on KBS‘s ‘Music Bank’ for 5 weeks… so we’re looking forward to the record for ‘Mr. Taxi’. They’ll be showing various special performances on all the music programs.”
