Our Prayers Have Been Heard! 2NE1 Park Bom Will Sing Live for 2011 MAMA!

As we reported earlier, the members of 2NE1 took off for the 2011 M.net Asian Music Awards (MAMA) on November 27. However, it appeared that Park Bom’s performance would be hindered because of a severe cold. It was reported that she couldn’t speak to her family on the phone. If her condition did not improve she would lip sync her parts.

But in the morning of November 28, she wrote on her twitter, “Even though my voice is a bit huskier and hoarse I will still perform live!~~~*^____^*” It appears that she is announcing that she will be singing live for the 2011 MAMA.

Fans that have come across this message have stated, “I believe you will do well. We don’t’ have to worry right?” “I hope you get better, I’m so worried,” “Of Course! Who is Park Bom~ I believe that you will give your best performance.”

For the 2011 MAMA, 2NE1 is currently one of the nominees for “Best Performance Girl Group." The award show will begin on November 29, at 7pm (South Korean time) and is being held at Singapore. The broadcast will be live via M.Net.

I've always wondered this too. I know Bom has stage fright and the way her songs are composed (is that right word?) makes it difficult for her to perform them identical to the album version, but wtf YG?

CL is a better performer, that's what I think at least. She has more charisma on stage. Bom is an emotive singer but her heels don't let do much but stand or sit there and Minzy lacks that thing that CL has too even if she's more talented.

The way i see it, Bom has highly successful solos and Dara is popular regardless of what she does. CL and Minzy at the moment have much lower popularity and a lower likelihood of success when they mature as independent artists (which is what I feel YG wants of all his groups, for each member to be able to eventually become their own artist). By making CL, who has a lot of talent and potential, the face of 2NE1, it guarantees she gets as much exposure as possible by riding on 2NE1 as a group since that's really the only avenue she can get exposure from. That way CL can eventually sustain herself under her own name. Minzy is still young and she's given the second largest amount of parts imo so I think it's the same reasoning, but she's lower priority than CL.

No, she needs composers and writers to write for her voice and not for someone like Dara or CL. She has a deeper tone to her voice so she has to strain her voice to match the key they write her songs in. Main reason I want her to work with someone other than Teddy or GD.

It is. The biggest disappointment for me was GD. She worked with him and TOP while she was still a trainee and was featured in two of their songs. So, I don't know how they went from We Belong Together and Forever With You to Oh Yeah. With Teddy I've just grown accustomed to him catering to Cl's voice instead of tho the groups better singers.

Her voice is quite beautiful in its natural key and it makes me sad that we can't hear it and they can't write or compose to it. That's why I prefer the earlier songs in which she featured instead of what they have her sing now.

I'm the worst Bom fan in the world for saying this, but methinks the increasing number of cosmetic procedures she's had done/maybe something internally related to them have negatively affected her ability to project, and her general confidence? All I know is that the 2005-2006 Bom seemed so much more at home on stage.

I think she's singing here to tone she can, they pitch her songs way too high where it's all screechy. Same with CL, she sound like a chimpunk on fire squealing sometimes, need to tone it down.
