2PM’s Junho tweeted a photo of his group members in bed with Chansung’s doll along with the caption, “Lean on me when you’re tired.

In the photograph, the 2PM members are sprawled on a bed along the bright blue doll, where underneath you can see Junsu with a blank expression on his face.

Fans said, “You look so tired,” “I’m a 2PM fan but I can’t even tell who is who,” “Can I lean on you?” and “What’s the purpose of this doll?

The 2PM members have been busy promoting their single “Hands Up” lately and seem to enjoy taking their breaks along with their maknae’s unique doll.

I just wanted a 2pm+bed post tbh

After School’s subunit, After School Blue, has recently been caught up in a plagiarism controversy with their latest single, “Wonder Boy,” for allegedly copying “Forever Love” by Fin.K.L, a 90’s girl group that Hyori, Ock Ju Hyun, Sung Yuri, and Lee Jin once belonged to.

“Wonder Boy,” released on July 20th, has melodies and lyrics strikingly similar to “Forever Love,” as both songs even end with the same line, “Yak Sok Hae Jo (Promise me).” In response to the growing allegations, After School’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, made an official statement saying, “It is true that we made it based on Fin.K.L’s ‘Forever Love,’ which was sensational in the 90s. But it was intended to pay homage to the cute and innocent concept of the song, not to stir this plagiarism controversy.”

They continued, “’Forever Love’ contains simple lyrics and catchy sound, which made it more widely popular. We wanted to recreate such type of positive influence through ‘Wonder Boy.’ If you compare their live performances, you will be able to see After School Blue’s unique charms completely different from Fin.K.L’s.”

After School split into two separate subunits, After School Blue and After School Red, and have been running promotions simultaneously. The group will make their official Japanese debut on August 17th.

For your information, here we have the music videos of “Wonder Boy” and “Forever Love.” What do you think? Do they sound similar at all?

CSJH's Sunday has garnered attention for her recent rants on Twitter, which included some profanity.

Her tweets read, "Let's find out and understand our place in the world before acting, retards", "I'm too tired to pay attention to that kind of thing. If you aren't going to take responsibility for your actions, get the fuck out of my life. I really want to die. So pissed right now", and "If you're just going to pass by, don't even come near me because I'm sick of it."

Netizens commented, "What's happening?", "I'm scared, noona", and "What has happened? Who would hurt Sunday!?", in addition to other worried reactions.

--

Sunday tweeted again after, "It seems like I forgot my public duties for a moment and I released my hidden nature. I'm deeply reflecting on this; I'm sorry, everyone. Twitter somehow seems like my personal diary and a place where I can release my frustrations when there's no friends around; something that draws me without my control. I'm sorry, everyone."

Following the FTC’s guidelines to protect young entertainers ...

K-pop groups with underage members such as KARA have caused controversy with their provocative dress and dance routines

Drawing a line between sex and pop

Over the last 15 years, K-pop has grown from being entertainment for Koreans to being the subject of affection of fans across Asia, North America and Europe. Concerns over the increased sexualization of its performers, especially those of whom are underage, have followed the industry’s rise.

Last year, K-pop became an unlikely subject of debate at the National Assembly when lawmakers ordered an inquiry into why Korean girl groups wear such “revealing clothes” and dance with “suggestive moves and lyrics.” Particularly of concern was the age of many performers: Groups such as KARA and f(x) include minors among their members. Many other popular groups such as Girls’ Generation included underage members when they debuted.

More recently, the Fair Trade Commission announced guidelines to stop the sexualization of K-Pop teen stars and ensure reasonable working conditions. The guidelines are not binding and fail to define what constitutes overly provocative dress or content. Meanwhile, general agreement on just what is sexual and what isn’t in the world of pop can’t always be found. One fan or entertainment company’s “sexy” is another’s “cute.“

Yes: We must curb the exploitation of teens )

No: What is acceptable is too subjective )

Police said Thursday they booked 29 people, including a chief executive of a cable TV network, who allegedly took money from new singers in return for rigging various online rankings of K-pop songs or helping them appear on TV.

They were among the 140 people caught on charges stemming from 14 corruption cases, the National Police Agency (NPA) said after a four-month nationwide crackdown on irregularities by the local entertainment industry. Police put five of them under arrest for further probes.

In the detected cases, about 65 percent of the suspects were entertainment agency executives, TV producers and workers for industry interest groups while about 97 percent of the victims were celebrity aspirants, the NPA said.

Also among those booked without physical detention was a top executive of a local cable TV network who allegedly received 150 million won ($142,099) from 10 new singers from 2009 till recently in exchange for helping them appear on the TV channel's show programs, police said. They, however, did not give the name of the cable TV network.

"We conducted an intensive crackdown to combat crimes against celebrity aspirants, who are socially weak," a police official involved in the crackdown said, requesting not to be named.

Police will expand their investigation into corruption by entertainment industry figures, the official said. (Yonhap)

On July 21st, Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon extended his support to fellow member Daesung in an interview after the press conference for YG Entertainment and avex’s collaboration label, YGEX.

G-Dragon said, “I wanted to come here with Daesung but couldn’t, which is disappointing. Even if we don’t express it outright, the members are together as one team with Daesung in our hearts. We are always supporting and worrying over him.”

He added, “We’re working harder than ever to make sure that we can return as five members as fast as possible.”

Until the year-end, Big Bang will be promoting as solos and in units. Currently, Taeyang’s solo album is scheduled for release within the second half of the year.
