It was just reported by local media OSEN moments ago that Daesung and the victim’s family reached a settlement over the car accident from last May. The exact details of the settlement were not revealed.
On May 31st, Daesung accidentaly hit a motorcyclist who was lying on the street due to a previous crash that resulted from drunk driving. The motorcyclist was found dead when police came to the scene. Since the accident, Daesung has not made any public appearances, reportedly spending most of his time at home in extreme mental pain.
Following today’s settlement, Daesung is expected to speed up his recovery process as many fans anticipate his return to the K-Pop scene

With 2AM’s Changmin, F.T. Island’s Hongki, and 2PM’s Junsu stepping down from KBS 2TV’s ‘Immortal Song 2‘, it was confirmed that Jay Park, Huh Gak, and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun will join the show as new cast members.
On July 20th, ‘Immortal Song 2′ PD Kwon Jae Young tweeted, “We are starting again. Hyorin, G.O., Jiyoon, Kyuhyun, Jaebum (Jay Park), Huh Gak. Let’s have fun and enjoy watching them.”
Kwon PD also revealed through a phone interview, “I’m sure Jaebum will be able to show the best stage through his performance and singing. Kyuhyun was chosen because he is already well-known as Super Junior’s main vocalist.” He added, “Huh Gak is a singer who the Korean people like. On the other hand, I think Huh Gak can become a motivation for the other idols. “
Meanwhile, the new members will record their first ‘Immortal Song 2′ episode on July 25th. This episode is scheduled to air on August 6th.

2010 was filled with a plethora of endorsements for JK, from The Body Shop, Giordano, to both the Maxim and Men’s Health cover. In his 16-year career, JK has evolved from a small time rapper to a living brand signifying health, masculinity, family, and overall good looks. As a result of his recent success, the producers of Korea’s Next Top Model, invited JK to guest judge for the 2nd season.
For the 3rd episode, the contestants will have to prove they can mimic the success of models such as Christie Brinkley and Kate Moss: make a lasting impression in a short music video cameo. The models were invited to cameo for the video for “Doo Doo Doo Wop Ba Ba Lu,” a song from DT’s 8th album, “Feel Ghood Musik.”
The music video teaser reveals JK driving and surrounded by gorgeous young women at a club. The storyline is still unclear, but judging from the previews, is definitely intriguing!

2PM’s Junsu has revealed his surprising culinary skills for SBS’s new TV program, ‘2PM Show‘.
Recently, Junsu tweeted,
“Spicy rice cakes that I made ^^ It’s called Daegu Smile Spicy Rice Cakes.. keke“
This photo is a screencap from the ‘2PM Show’, which had the boys tackle a cooking challenge. 2PM was separated into two teams for the competition: older members versus young members. They each had to demonstrate their cooking skills by creating a main dish using crab and octopus.
As the competition began, Junsu showed off his confidence as he boasted, “Daegu’s most famous Daegu spicy rice cakes“.
Junsu finished his dish first and had his group members try his ‘famous’ dish. The other 2PM members couldn’t hold back their exclamations over how the taste had far exceeded their expectations. Junsu responded, “Looks like I could open up a spicy rice cake store in Daegu!”
This episode of ‘2PM Show’ will broadcast on July 23rd.

Your favorite Korean artists are going to the land down under! Highlighted as one of the biggest event in Australian-Asian Pop History, JK Entertainment confirms that they will be bringing the "2011 K-Pop Music Fest" in Sydney, Australia.
Earlier today, the organizers have announced the line-up for the event which will be held in Sydney's ANZ Stadium on the 12th of November. Artists invited and confirmed to perform for the event are Girls' Generaton, Kara, Secret, 2AM, SHINee, Miss A, 4 Minute, TVXQ, CN Blue and Beast.
JK Entertainment organized the event in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Ties Between Korea and Australia. The "2011 K-Pop Music Fest" will also be broadcasted through Korean TV Channel, MBC.
Ticket details for the concert is yet to be announced by the organizers and has adviced fans to stay updated via JK Entertainment's official website.

From top, Four out of six members of Beast, Hyuna from 4 Minute and Goo Ha-ra from Kara have received either special admission or scholarships from their universities.
Colleges often award scholarships to K-pop stars and popular entertainers as their enrollment can be valuable assets for the promotion of a schools’ image.
However, many ordinary students who have to work various part-time jobs to pay tuition say the awarding of scholarships to young celebrities is unfair.
Members of prominent Korean bands such as Beast, 4 Minute and Kara have received special admissions or full scholarships from the universities they attend.
Four out of six members of Beast have been accepted to Dongshin University in South Jeolla Province with full four-year scholarships. Hyuna from 4 Minute received special admission to Konkuk University as an entertainer and Goo Ha-ra from Kara entered Sungshin Women’s University under a “superb performance” scholarship.

A shopping street in Shinjuku, central Tokyo, with a high density of shops run by Koreans, was crowded with people despite the hot summer weather last Wednesday.
There were long lines of customers in front of the carts of street vendors selling Korean food such as topokki, rice cakes in hot sauce, and Chinese pancakes.
One of the large shops selling Korean pop-culture items, including souvenirs, on the street was totally packed although it was in the middle of a workday.
"We saw a sudden rise in the number of customers last summer. These days we have around 5,000 visitors during workdays and 8,000 to 9,000 on weekends," a sales clerk of the shop said.

4minute Hyuna's solo track "Bubble Pop!" has been featured on known British website, popjustice.com, as "Song of The Day" on July 18th. "Bubble Pop!" was released approximately 2 weeks ago and has quickly gained popularity.
The website writes, "South Korean pop songstrel - and girlband member - HyunA released an extraordinary solo mini album a couple of weeks ago and we've been growing increasingly obsessed with the lead track, 'Bubble Pop!'.
Experienced with its fantastic video 'Bubble Pop!' is a real 'everyone else might as well pack up and go home' moment.

Super Junior will be making a comeback after a year and two months!
The comeback date for their 5th album is set for August 3rd and individual teaser images of the members will be released sequentially from the 20th, starting with Eunhyuk. It’s Donghae’s time to shine in the spotlight, and ELFs worldwide will definitely feel their hearts race over his sexy new look!
The members have each poured their own unique colors into the upcoming album, and fans will soon be able to experience their upgraded performances.

After School’s UEE has become a hot topic after she revealed her diet.
She stated, “Usually, I pack my own lunch” and pulled out a drink made from grains. She explained, “This drink contains black beans, wheat, brown rice, soy milk, and honey, so it can be used as one meal.”
Additionally, she also showed the cameras the lunch that she packed for herself. The lunch contained brown rice, tofu with dried bonito, and a chicken breast salad. It was revealed that the half bowl of brown rice was 150kcals, the whole grain drink was 110kcal, and the chicken salad was 205kcals. Altogether, the meal did not exceed 1,000kcals.
To conclude, UEE said, “Many people starve themselves when they are on a diet, but that doesn’t help. You have to eat well in order to lose weight more easily.”
