I would say Nikon because I'm a Nikon fangirl lol.
But seriously, it's really how you use the camera. So you should look at the controls, the options and how it feels when you hold it and judge it on that. You're going to be able to get great pictures out of both if you use them to their full potential.
Yeah, you're definitely right. I really enjoyed taking all that time to really learn my current camera. I had so much fun discovering new things it could do at my own pace and as much as I rage about it sometimes, it's a great camera and almost a part of me now.
It looks like I'm just gonna have to try my hands at both from people that already own them.
general rule of thumb i find to be true is that at the lower-level price ranges/more 'introductory' models, you get more for your buck from the canon dslrs than nikon. the more expensive/professional photographer-upgrades you go, nikon is better.
i am a canon gurl 4 lyfe but that's because i'm never going to have the money or excuse to buy the truly good nikon cameras until i am well into my 30s or 40s or w/e so you know. canon!!!
