Only a few new dramas compared to last month, but I'm looking forward to most of these. Extraordinary You has a fun premise and looks cute (plus Rowoon, heart eyes). My Country has leads I love, we'll see if I can get into a sageuk. OCN always makes great shows and The Lies Within seems like it could be good. I've been waiting for a Leverage drama for years, I hope they do the original justice, I need more teasers to come out to see if the tone is right because the teaser I linked is way too serious. I have a serious love for Kim Sun Ho so I'm looking forward to Catch The Ghost. What are you interested in, Omona?

Synopsis

"The village" is described as very peaceful with hardly any crime, which is why it’s so shocking when a long-buried corpse comes to light. There have been no disappearances within the village, and nobody’s looking for the body, so questions of its origins and cause of death swirl as the case unfolds and people hunt for answers. They’ll find that the village isn’t quite as ordinary as it appears, though we’re left to guess at the nature of its mystery -Dramabeans

Moon Geun-young plays Han So-Yoon an English teacher who moves to the town and works to uncover the mystery, though she has secrets of her own to protect.

So-Yoon
lost her parents and sister in a car accident when she was a child. She was the lone survivor, though the newspaper misreported the accident as having no survivors. She grows up abroad under the care of her grandmother, and upon Grandma’s death, she discovers a letter addressed to her about her family’s accident, from an unknown person in Achiara. Seeking answers, she moves to town to become the new English teacher at the local school, and happens to move into Jang Hee-jin’s apartment.

Yook Sung-jae is Park Woo-Jae, the overly eager policeman in town who takes it upon himself to be her personal welcome wagon. He’s met with frosty indifference from So-Yoon at every turn, but they’ll eventually come to help each other solve a murder.

Woo-jae is
a young police officer whose only dream since childhood was to be a righteous cop like a movie hero. He got the job, but quickly discovered that police work in Achiara was nothing like the movies. Which is why he’s over the moon when a dead body is discovered, and he makes it his mission to find out the truth. He finds it a bonus that this gives him more reason to talk to the pretty new English teacher in town, since she discovered the corpse.

Everyone else is wary of the town’s new resident and they all treat her as an outsider, but Yook Sung-jae is a happy-go-lucky policeman who’s excited to make her acquaintance. She’s described as quiet and reserved, while he’s a bouncing ball of energy.

Shin Eun-kyung plays Yoon Ji-Sook an artist and gallery director who married rich and went from poverty to elegance and wealth.

Ohn Joo-wan, meanwhile, plays Seo Gi-Hyun
, a character who studied to be an architect but instead runs a steel company.

The family with the most secrets in town is the richest, naturally. Jung Sung-mo is the most powerful man in Achiara, who made his fortune in steel. Ohn Joo-wan is the son who blames Dad for Mom’s death, and pities his new stepmother Shin Eun-kyung, the town’s very own Cinderella who was born to the poorest family in town and married into the wealthiest.

She’s only 12 years older than her stepson and was warm and kind when he needed a mother, and he becomes very protective of her. Of course, she’s also got a fortune to protect and clearly knows about her husband’s affairs, which makes her a prime suspect. Ohn Joo-wan returns from studying abroad to manage the local school (I guess his father really owns everything in town), and becomes caught between his desire to help Moon Geun-young, and to protect his family’s secrets.

Jang Hee-jin will play Kim Hye-Jin, an art teacher who was one of many mistresses to the town’s wealthiest man, [Character Spoiler ahead!] who suddenly disappeared without a trace one day. But because the small town of Achiara is so insular and wary of outsiders, nobody cared or noticed that she vanished… or someone made sure of it.

Wonderful work by NB; I like these kind of articles that she translates once in a while, a nice change of pace. The next time you see your fave with bad make-up on, you can refer to this wonderful post of mine and curse their team!
Jenny House would be my dream hair stylist/make-up artist/towel boy job. Lee Min Jung + Moon Chae Won + Son Ye Jin + Han Ji Min = Daily nose bleeds
>.<
* Note: MiJang Won trans-literally means Beauty Parlor, and NB didn't translate that part of the picture. I can't find any specific MiJang Won that Go Jun Hee visits after running a google search, therefore I have just left it as it is.
