On Melon's write-up it says the criteria was based on the popularity, creativity, influence, significance, and performances of the songs picked... that includes the virality for the some of the newer songs definitely, too. In the early morning on October 8, Oh Ji Ho, Lee Jung Hyun, GAMST, Sandara Park, and MOMOLAND’s JooE entered the Special Warfare Training School in Gwangju of Gyeonggi Province.

As done by the previous celebrities on “Real Men 300,” the new members will go through rigorous training and evaluations in order to become one of the “300 warriors.”

The Seoul Awards, a new award ceremony celebrating some of the best in Korea’s drama and film industries, has announced its winners! The award show was held on October 27 in Seoul, with Kim Ah Joong and Jun Hyun Moo hosting.

It was previously announced that winners of the awards would be decided through a score that was 70 percent determined by expert judges, and 30 percent by a group of 60 citizens chosen through interviews.

The grand prize in film of the night went to “Anarchist From Colony,” a movie about Korean independence activist Park Yeol, while the tvN drama “Secret Forest” (starring Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doona) was awarded the grand prize for dramas.

Director Ryoo Seung-wan's historical action blockbuster "The Battleship Island" will open in 15 regions around the world in August and September, its local distributor said Wednesday. According to CJ Entertainment, the movie will open in the United States, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Brunei in August and in the Philippines in September.

"Many overseas distributors expect it to be a box-office smash in South Korea this year," said Choi Yoon-hee, head of CJ Entertainment's overseas distribution team. "They chose the film to compete with big-budget Hollywood films in the highly competitive summer market and are now gearing up for its release."

The rights to the film were earlier sold to 113 countries around the world, according to CJ.

Based on the hidden history of Japan's Hishima Island where many Koreans were forced to work and died during World War II, the action flick tells the story of the Korean laborers who risk their lives to escape the island. Korea was a colony of Japan from 1910 to 1945. The island, better known as "Battleship Island" for its shape resembling a warship, was designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 2015. The film stars A-list actors Hwang Jung-min, So Ji-sub and Song Joong-ki, and actress Lee Jung-hyun. Its domestic release is set for July 26.

About the dating rumor between Actor Hong Jong Hyun and girl group After School’s Nana, the producer of “We Got Married“ has indicated that they are not true.

Sun Hye Yoon, the producer of MBC‘s “We Got Married,” said of the report, “I have heard the rumors a few months ago, and I have already confirmed with [Hong Jong Hyun].” He added, “Hong Jong Hyun said that he and Nana were close friends.”

Sun Hye Yoon also revealed, “After a certain incident on ‘We Got Married,’ we get a contract form the cast saying that they will not engage in behavior that is not genuine. Hong Jong Hyun signed the same contract.”

Earlier this day, the woman’s magazine Woman Sense said on their February issue that Hong Jong Hyun and Nana have been dating for the past seven months.

An associate of Nana’s agency also denied the rumors, saying, “Nana and Hong Jong Hyun are close friends, but are not dating,” and also said that “The dating rumors have no basis in truth.”

Meanwhile, Hong Jong Hyun is now appearing in “We Got Married” as Girls’ Day’s Yura‘s partner.

K-pop girl group After School member Nana denied she is in a relationship with actor Hong Jong-hyun after reports of the pair dating broke Thursday.

A Pledis Entertainment source told OSEN the two are close friends but not in a romantic relationship.

Korean magazine Woman Sense reported the pair had been dating for seven months in its February issue, where it said Nana and Hong had been spotted at an amusement park on Christmas.

They previously hosted On Style’s “Style Log” together and met while modeling.

Hong is currently starring on MBC’s “We Got Married” with Girl’s Day member Yoo-ra as his fake wife.
