How did the background for ‘She’s Gone’ come about?
From the beginning I had the stage in mind for the video of ‘She’s Gone.’ So our priority wasn’t to produce an awesome music video, but to create a video with straightforward meaning and expression that would highlight the stage and the music, and I think that is what inspired those who watched it.

As much as G-Dragon was inspired by a movie to write the song, the inherent ‘cruelty’ found in the song was not literal but part of a fantastical and aesthetic fiction, and so the decision to create this video like a scene from a movie came naturally. Also, this performance is not a story of a provocative ‘murder,’ but a way of expressing the crooked image of a man who chose a theatrical way of loving, and so in order to portray a world that was far from reality, a scene from a cruel fairy tale, we chose the backdrop of a time that is not the present.

The ballad group comprising Jo Kwon (leader of 2AM who is also known for his crazy antics), Lee Changmin (one of the few Korean idols to complete the mandatory military service before debuting), Im Seulong (who debuted as an actor in Personal Preference) and Jung Jinwoon (the youngest and cutest member in the group) left it to their vocal prowess to do most of the talking that evening. Their voices soared and touched the hearts of many Malaysian 1AMs at the showcase.

Stars express their grief over the death of Chae Dong Ha

Ever since the shocking news of singer Chae Dong Ha’s suicide hit the press, countless celebrities have taken to their Twitter accounts to express their grief.

T-ara’s Eunjung wrote, “Dong Ha oppa, what just happened? You’re a person who shone as brightly as a star; you’re someone I looked up to since I was a trainee. I’m so, so sad, and my heart is pained.”

HaHa wrote, “Damn! Everyone! Please take care of those around you. Please! Please! Please! Please take care of them. Let’s please live. Listen to them. Just be by them. Why does everyone…”

Kim Hyung Joon wrote, “May he rest in peace. My heart is pained.”

Song Ho Bum wrote, “I hope Dong Ha rests in peace. Please pray so that he goes to a better place. I think being a singer is so hard because when you’re forgotten, you feel as if you’ve been thrown away. I know that feeling so well, and it hurts me that much more. I wasn’t even able to tell him to find strength.”

Core Contents Media CEO Kim Kwang Soo who created SG Wannabe also expressed, “It’s so shocking, I can’t find the right words to express myself. I will be attending his wake. I never kept frequent contact with him, but I did hear of his whereabouts through the SG Wannabe members.”

He continued, “He had a lot of passion for acting but it didn’t work out as he had hoped. I had advised him so many times that it would have been better for him to return to promoting as a solo singer or with a group. He’s an introverted person and suffered from depression since his days with SG Wannabe. It was difficult for him to connect with people and he was stressed and pressured with his acting and solo career. I spoke with SG Wannabe’s Kim Jin Ho on the phone, but he’s too in shock to say anything.”

Seeya’s Lee Bo Ram, Chae Dong Ha’s former girlfriend, also revealed that she had received a text message three days prior to his death.

Her representatives stated, “Lee Bo Ram found out about his death through the news. Three days ago, she had received a text from him asking how she was doing. She was unable to reply because she was so busy. Because of the shock, she cannot find the words to express herself right now.”

Perfect&Flawless Haruna Ai and Arashi cover SNSD "Gee"

On the May 26th episode of ‘VS Arashi’, talento Haruna Ai and Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari and Ohno Satoshi performed a short cover of SNSD’s “Gee“. Haruna seems to be quite fond of “Gee” as she had danced it back in March with idol group SDN48.

The trio’s dance met with laughter and screams from audience members and celebrity guests.

The rookie group B1A4 made their first step into the world of singers with the release of their debut album 'Let's Fly.' B1A4, who debuted last month on the 21st, is a male group formed by Jinyoung, CNU, Baro, Sandeul, and Gongchan. During the early stages of their debut, they shook girls' hearts with their unordinary appearance and they will continue to gain attention in the future.

The members think it is fascinating when the public hears their music and they revealed strong ambitions to work harder in the future so that everyone will like [their music].

"It's been one month since our debut. There are already so many fans that recognize us and I was very surprised when a lot of fans came to our recent fan signing. We're going to try our best to make sure everyone knows us." (Baro)

The day we met B1A4 was the day they debuted one month ago. They live day by day making sure each day has a purpose and with their busy schedules, they are in the midst of going many places to make lively performances of their title hit 'O.K'.

Nicknames such as "paper-dol" and "blood-dol" have formed because of their special group name.

Our group name B1A4 is an abbreviation for "be the one, all for one," which means "five members will become one and become the best." It also stands for "blood type B 1 blood type A 4." Fans said that this name sounds like copying paper, so they call us paper-dols. Blood-dols came from the blood types we use in the group name. When we first heard the term blood-dol, it was very funny. We are pleased with these nicknames because it means that people are interested in us." (Jinyoung)

Mimyo talks about Model B. (who? what?)

Backstory: last month several Korean electronica artists got together and made a tribute album to BoA titled Model B. Below is the mini interview with Mimyo, one of the contributors to the album.

Who are the people behind the Model B project?
Well, somebody had to do the chores, like organising the calendar, making contacts, blog and tweet, and that was me, Mimyo. Byul.org willingly did the design for the artist images. All the participants, Curly Sol (my label) and PDH have helped a lot in making decisions, which might be difficult when you have many people joining in. Apart that, music was done by respective artists and it was a work for all of us.

What is the story behind this BoA tribute?
I was just joking on Twitter, saying "it would be fun to see a tribute album to BoA." People told me it really would be fun and that they're willing to do that together. This was how we got together in the first place.

Avex Network has recently announced that pop duo Tohoshinki (TVXQ) will be releasing a new single on Wednesday, July 20, 2011!

This will be Tohoshinki’s second official single this year following, “Why? (Keep Your Head Down)” which was released on January 26th and sold over 300,000 copies. Details pertaining to the the title and the tracks have not been released yet (To be determined) but it is known that their new single will be released in two different types of a Limited Edition & Regular Edition. If you thought the girl group rush was finally winding down this year, you’re in for a big shock, as 12 groups have announced that they’ll be making their debut in the second half of 2011!

On May 26th, SBS’s “One Night in TV Entertainment” reported on the girl group wave and introduced the arduous process rookie girl groups went through in order to get their name out to the public. One scene saw a group stick name tags onto themselves and stand in a row to greet every senior artist who passed by.

SBS’s research revealed that 10 girl groups debuted in the first half of 2010 alone. They also revealed that twelve new girl groups and five boy groups were waiting to debut later in the year.

BEAST's Yong Junhyung, "Park Boyoung from the music video is close to his ideal type"

After BEAST’s Yong Junhyung picked actress Park Boyoung as his ideal type, the topic is becoming a hotly discussed issue among the netizens.

BEAST, who had made a comeback with their first official album <Fiction>, appeared on <Choi Hwajung’s Power Time> who share honest words and an amazing live performance.

In a question asking about their ideal types, Yong Junhyung answered, someone with a “thin body and a small face with a smooth hair texture.” To this the members added, “Isn’t a female star that matches wih that description Park Boyoung?”

In response to the members, Yong Junhyung admitted that he had become a fan of her from acting with her in the ‘Fiction’ music video. He added that she was very close to his ideal type.

Also, in a corner to test the teamwork of BEAST, the members all chose f(x) over After School and added that f(x)’s stage when they are singing “Pinocchio” was really awesome. Also, they joked that if they were to share a waiting room with one of those two groups, the group with less members is best.

Meanwhile, BEAST admitted that they were more into the “cute” style rather than the “chic” style and revealed that their ideal types were similar as well.
