Hundreds of French fans rallied in front of the Louvre Museum in Paris on Sunday to demand an extension of a Korean pop concert after tickets for the event sold out in 15 minutes.
Some 300 young people picketed while dancing to Korean pop tunes for over an hour, demanding that the concert scheduled for June 10 be extended by one day.
Korean pop culture, known as "Hallyu," or the Korean Wave, has been gaining worldwide popularity in recent years. Girls'
Generation, Super Junior, SHINee and other top groups managed by the agency S.M. Entertainment are scheduled to perform.
Fans at the rally claimed some people had already begun to scalp tickets after hoarding hundreds of them when they went on sale online on April 26.
Calls to S.M. Entertainment's office in Seoul seeking comment went unanswered on Monday morning.

Having unleashed his first mini-album, “Take a Deeper Look”, on April 27th, it was recently revealed that singer Jay Park sold over 50,000 albums within the first five days of the release.
On May 2nd, Sidus HQ stated, “With Park Jaebeom selling over 50,000 units of his first mini-album, inquiries regarding purchases have been pouring in.”
They continued, “After seeing the 50,000 copies of his limited edition album gaining explosive popularity from his fans, we have decided to produce another 20,000 more units of his limited edition album, and a regular packaged album thereafter.”
Jay Park hasn’t only been receiving interest from Korea, as his album also recently placed in the top 5 of the “Soul” category on iTunes USA and Canada.
Be sure to check out his comeback stage on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” on May 6th.

In the April 28th broadcast of Midnight Entertainment, Seungri’s academy in Gwangju was featured.

The star couple of Hallyu actress Choi Ji Woo (36) and actor Lee Jin Wook (30) have separated. Choi Ji Woo’s agency CJW Company said on April 28, “Choi Ji Woo told us that she had broken up with Lee Jin Wook early this year. They ended their relationship with no hostile feelings towards each other, and they reportedly continue to have a good relationship as actors by cheering each others’ activities.”
Lee Jin Wook’s agency HB Entertainment also said, “Lee Jin Wook confirmed that he had broken up with Choi Ji Woo.” Choi Ji Woo and Lee Jin Wook became a couple while they appeared together in the MBC drama “Air City” in 2007. When Choi Ji Woo participated in the press conference held in Japan for the drama “Star’s Lover” on March, 2009, she indirectly admitted the relationship with Lee Jin Wook by saying, “If there comes good news that requires your congratulatory message, I will directly tell you right away.” Their relationship faced obstacles when Lee Jin Wook joined the army in May of the same year, so they reportedly ended up finishing their relationship. Kim HyunA will soon move forward for her solo promotions right after 4Minute's current activities for their recently released album.
4Minute has officially started promoting their double-title-track album last April. With songs, "Heart to Heart" and "Mirror Mirror," the group has undoubtedly made their much-awaited comeback a successful one. Their song "Mirror Mirror" has even reached no. 1 on MNET Countdown proving that these girls have so much talent and potential to offer.
CUBE Entertainment's Officials revealed to Star News, "4Minute will continue broadcasting and performing on stage untill the end of this month for their album promotions. Right after that, Kim HyunA's first mini-album shall be revealed."
"4Minute's Kim HyunA will officially start her regular solo activities by June. For just after a short period of time, everyone can finally take a look on her future as a solo singer," they continued. "HyunA is now steadily and firmly preparing for her solo release because this time, it will be a mini-album. She will be meeting her fans with a new identity through her 1st mini album," an official revealed.
HyunA had her first solo digital single, on the month of January last year with "Change" as her title track. Her song has reached huge popularity and she made herself famous as a solo artist with her competitiveness. HyunA's solo comeback is now garnering high expectations and interests as people would finally see the 20-year old side of her.
