Hundreds of French fans rallied in front of the Louvre Museum in Paris on Sunday to demand an extension of a Korean pop concert after tickets for the event sold out in 15 minutes.

Some 300 young people picketed while dancing to Korean pop tunes for over an hour, demanding that the concert scheduled for June 10 be extended by one day.

Korean pop culture, known as "Hallyu," or the Korean Wave, has been gaining worldwide popularity in recent years. Girls'

Generation, Super Junior, SHINee and other top groups managed by the agency S.M. Entertainment are scheduled to perform.

Fans at the rally claimed some people had already begun to scalp tickets after hoarding hundreds of them when they went on sale online on April 26.

Calls to S.M. Entertainment's office in Seoul seeking comment went unanswered on Monday morning.

they didn't do it just for the 300 people attending but in the name of all europeans who didn't even have a chance to buy a ticket, due to scalpers/pre-sales of tickets. it's not selfish at all. they just wanted to get sm's attention for the issue.

Not really selfish seeing as tons of people got tickets just to sell them 3x their original price on eBay.

is it just me or does it seem a liiiittle embarrassing to picket in front of a historic monument like the louvre for some more kpop tickets...?

nah, it's not just you

picketing in front of the Louvre Museum is a little faux pas, they could find more appropriate and still representative place probably... I just hope that it wasn't done for nothing and SM would give us another gig

i've been to the louvre. three hundred people standing around outside isn't anything weird... people probably just thought it was a school trip from china.

Yeah they should have picketted in some irrelevant place no one cares about :)

yeah they should've picketed underground.

They should have picketed in front of some public toilets, where kpop belongs.

SOMETIMES, i feel exactly like this about hallyu.
i am rather sick of it "invading" here there and everywhere.
there are actually very few groups in kpop that have not been over-processed to the point where i can still like them.

Technically it would be in everybody's interests to add another date to the concert, that's usually what they do if it looks like the concert sells out super-fast and there's demand for moar.

Still, protesting outside the Louvre? brb covering my face in 2nd hand embarrassment.

Seeing how fast the tickets sold out even with those prices, it would be ridiculous from SME to not add a date.

Maybe they are waiting to see how it goes irl on June and then they'll add a bigger date. Or a bigger salle. *still doubtful on that last one*

Huh, is that why I saw KBS people and cameras floating around yesterday on the Champs Elysées? No idea what they were doing and asking people. I was with some friends so I wasn't going to stop and chat.

They rallied for another concert on LABOUR DAY ?!?! As an European I feel offended, haha. French revolutionaries are rolling in their graves. Bad timing because no one in Europe would even notice it but I guess they wanted SM's attention.

It was two hours. I got my ticket 1 hour 1/2 after opening.

it wasn't sold out in 15 minutes =..= it was mostly sold out before the sale even started. but no one would address that on korean news, right.
i think the louvre was just a place to gain more attention and they did want korean media to cover it to get sm's attention. i don't see anything wrong with it. since the scalpers problem is an issue and it should be addressed. i just hope sm considers another date for those who didn't even have a chance to buy a ticket. maybe not in the near future but hopefully soon enough.

More like organiser was so disorganised, so many version of the seating plan, sites couldn't handle the onslaught of traffic and there wasn't any cap as to how many one could buy tickets. Heard one actually bought 16 tickets and sold them off.

lol i can just imagine them camping outside and dancing to Abracadabra
anyway SM should really add a date so more people can go

I know it sucks that the concert sold out in a matter of a couple hours but to DEMAND another show seems kind of selfish imo. Japan hasn't had their rescheduled shows yet, Bangkok hasn't even gotten their show rescheduled at all, Taiwan got shafted and never even got a date announced for their show. You should be happy that you're even able to get one show at all =/

The only reason it sold out is because tons of fans bought tons of tickets and started selling them on eBay 3x their original price.

People thought that I was crazy to go for pre-sales and queue for 7 hours for Super Show tickets , but the truth is, once they release online there's a possibility I might not even be able to afford those tickets. Those people buying and reselling at 3x the original prices is the are taking advantage of the fans, and most fans are either young or don't really have that much money to spare.
I fully support that the next time, there should be a limit of purchase online and a monitoring system to see whether the tickets were extensively re-sold or something.
Getting another date might be harder though. Good Luck France XD

How to teal with scalpers 101: Wait until 5-10 minutes until the show opens to buy tickets from them. By that point they'll be on deep discount because they know the tickets will just be worthless pieces of paper as soon as the concert opens and they want to make at least SOME money back.

I find it so sad that you guys have to suffer with scalpers, especially with the JYJ tour, I have seen no ticket scalping for any of the tickets - they're all resales for the original price.
