Since their debut last July with “Tilt My Head,” Girl’s Day has been through a few changes in not only their members, but in their concept style as well. Their talents were finally recognized by their comeback with “Nothing Lasts Forever” and earned the nickname of ‘reversal idols’ for their vast transformation since their debut.
In an interview with Sports Today, the girls left behind their sexy leather comeback outfits for the beautiful hanbok in order to reflect on their year.
Sojin started, “I always wondered whether we would have been known to more people if only we didn’t get caught up in a controversy for our vocals. We’re so very thankful that our fans gave us the nickname ‘reversal idols,’ though.”
Minah said, “I am disappointed as well in not being able to show our fans a better image, but there’s still a lot of time left so please look forward to us.”

The hot guys of 2AM and 2PM had a special appearance on the recent episode of Bouquet and prepared various special performances to please the girls present on the show.
The show also prepared a mini-game wherein these hot guys would have to be paired with the girls, and that of course, included 4Minute. Several "ahjummas" were also present on the show which added so much laughter on the game.
Meanwhile, Sohyun's revelation of her admiration towards 2AM's maknae, Jinwoon, caught so much attention from people present at the studio. When asked about her reason, she revealed, "Jinwoon's eyes are attractive," which resulted to Jinwoon's cute embarrassment that eventually brought laughter from the audience.

Rain cleared of embezzlement charges

Singer and actor Rain has been cleared of charges of embezzlement, according to the Seoul Central Prosecutors' Office on Thursday.
A fabric manufacturing company had filed a lawsuit against Rain and executives of his agency J.Tune Entertainment in April, saying that they had suffered financial losses due to J.Tune's fashion affiliate J.Tune Creative.
The plaintiff claimed that it invested two billion won in the fashion firm but that Rain and other shareholders of J.Tune Creative embezzled their money by falsely registering the company's stock assets worth 2.5 billion won and claiming Rain's modeling fees worth two billion.
However, prosecutors ruled that it found the fabric company's accusation on J.Tune Creative falsely registering the company's stock assets as false and that Rain's modeling fees of 2.2 billion during three years was not excessive.
Meanwhile, prosecutors indicted two officials at J.Tune for embezzling 900 million won of the firm's money used to acquire a larger stake in the agency.
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is considered one of the most successful Korean stars in the entertainment business.
He has lead a popular singing career throughout Asia and has expanded his acting career into Hollywood, appearing in action film "Speed Racer" and martial arts picture "Ninja Assassin" last year.
He had also been the largest shareholder of J.Tune from 2007 until July of this year when he sold off all of his shares in the company and instead recently asked his former trainer and producer Park Jin-young of talenthouse JYP Entertainment to take charge of the agency starting next year.

Many of you may recall our previous report back in November 2010 about 4minute singing the theme song for TV Asahi's upcoming Winter 2011 drama, "Akuto~Juuhanzai Sousa Han (悪党～重犯罪捜査班)". Starring veteran actor Takahashi Katsunori, the drama "focuses on a group of detectives within the Yokohama police department who will use any shady method to close a case".
4Minute's previously untitled track for the drama's OST has now been revealed via the drama's official website to be titled as WHY and will be the drama's opening theme song.
The drama has been slated for a Friday 9PM timeslot on TV Asahi and will air its premiere episode on 21 January 2011.

2PM’s Taecyeon confessed his strong desire to have a kiss scene in the drama, “Dream High.” During this week’s episode of KBS 2TV’s ‘Entertainment Relay’, Taecyeon revealed, “I didn’t have a kiss scene with Moon Geun Young on “Cinderella’s Sister“. I would like to do a kiss scene this time around.”
He continued, “If the viewer ratings go up, I could even do over 100 kiss scenes. I predict the first episode to get a viewer rating of 25%.”
For the drama, Taecyeon will be entangled in a love triangle between T-ara’s Eunjung and miss A’s Suzy.
It was also revealed that Bae Yong Joon picked Taecyeon as the idol he takes most interest in. “At first I didn’t know because he never shows it. I’m very thankful,” Taecyeon expressed. Meanwhile Wooyoung, who’s to have a love line with IU, also confessed to wanting a kiss scene. “If I don’t get a kiss scene, then I will make a schedule myself and film it.”
Wooyoung also revealed that he’s been receiving english lessons from Taecyeon and Nichkhun, as he plays the role of a musically talented American international student named Jason.

Seoul Tokyo Music Festival 2010

In the absence of a new ‘Inkigayo‘ episode on January 2nd, SBS opted to broadcast the ‘SEOUL TOKYO MUSIC FESTIVAL 2010‘ instead.
A total of 10 K-Pop teams including the likes of Big Bang, KARA, 4minute, 2NE1, F.T. Island, CNBLUE, Brown Eyed Girls, U-KISS, Rainbow, and Teen Top convened at Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena back in November 3rd for the ‘SEOUL TOKYO MUSIC FESTIVAL 2010′.
Around 15,000 fans attended the concert which was hosted by Park Jung Min, Daesung, and Park Gyuri. A collaborative effort between SBS and Japan’s TBS, it was organized to celebrate SBS’s 20th anniversary, in addition to promoting Korean singers attempting to enter the Japanese market.

The January 1st episode of "100 Points" revealed miss A's Min's past photos. It has now revealed something even more shocking - F.T. Island's Hongki's bare legs.
Super Junior's Eunhyuk and SHINee's Minho decided to prank Hongki by pushing Shin Soyool and Girls' Day's Minah into the F.T. Island dorms. Shin Soyool entered first and said, "Hongki, noona's here! You haven't changed a bit!" Minah entered right after and said, "Oppa what are you doing? Who's this woman?!"
However, Hongki had no attention to spare on what was going on, because he was more worried about covering his legs, because he was only wearing boxers. Eunhyuk also discovered Hongki's mousepad was SHINee's picture, making Minho wonder if Hongki was the chairman of SHINee's fanclub.

It has been announced that miss A will be joining Park Jin Young in contracting with J. Tune Entertainment.
According to J. Tune Entertainment, miss A inked the contract on January 2nd.
“miss A, who has been under JYP Entertainment and managed by AQ Entertainment, has signed a new exclusive contract with us. With regards to this contract, there were no separate exclusive deposits involved,” stated a representative of J. Tune Entertainment.
They continued, “The company will bring out all physical and human resources to actively support miss A’s promotions. We will utilize all of our resources to the best of our ability, and through maximizing our revenue and operating profit, we will satisfy the anticipation of our shareholders and fans.
He added, “This year, miss A member, Suzy, will become a powerful Hallyu figure as she debuts with her first drama, KBS 2TV’s ‘Dream High’. Two of the miss A members are Chinese, and as much as they have been preparing to dominate China even before their debut, we will do our best in maximizing the promotions of this team to the whole of Asia.”
We don’t know what to make of this, since it was reported earlier that J.Tune will be merged with JYP Entertainment in February. We shall continue to keep tabs on developments regarding this.

▶ T.O.P has been praised by his acting skills in the film, Into the Fire, and has also claimed the newcomer award in the 31st Blue Dragon Film Festival.
T.O.P: I think my dyed hair suits the concept of the new album. Not many Koreans would dye their hair like this because it's like making your head bleed to get the right color successfully. The color was just too eye-catching for an awards ceremony. I heard that some people said things like "Is it because he wants to get an award that he dyed his hair like that?" and "What if he doesn't get it?" I got annoyed a bit by these but I felt so happy when I got the award that I wasn't even expecting to get...though I really got bothered by those words.

The group held a press conference before the concert began, and greeted the press by stating, “Being able to perform so many songs on such a big stage is exciting. We feel that we’ll be able to show how much we’ve improved.”
Jonghyun continued, “I don’t believe that the audience number is all that important for any stage. Whether there’s one audience member or ten thousand, we’ll be doing our best for the concert.”

YG explains why idol groups break up

YG Entertainment’s CEO Yang Hyunsuk explained that the biggest reason why popular idol groups break up was that the members start wanting to do different music as they grow bigger and bigger.
He explained that this was why he has Big Bang and 2NE1 go off doing individual solos, so they could do whatever music they want but still under the group’s name. Doing solo activities also makes the members want to go back to the original groups, and they are happier once they reunite.
He explained that he wanted to keep Big Bang and 2NE1 running for as long as possible, which is why he keeps putting out solo activities from both groups.
However, this idea of putting out subunits isn’t new from YG Entertainent. SM Entertainment has had their idol groups break off in subunits as well. Super Junior perhaps has the most units, with Super Junior-KRY, Super Junior-T, Super Junior-H and Super Junior-M.

TVXQ’s lyrics for their comeback track, “Keep Your Head Down,” has been the topic of hot debate amongst fans lately, with many speculating that it’s an indirect message for JYJ.
The lyrics, “I’ll erase everything of you inside of me and set out for a brighter future. Someday, you’ll realize just how genuine the love you threw away was,” are at the center of the debate, and many have been connecting it to JYJ, who is currently under dispute with SM Entertainment.
SM Entertainment responded to the speculations on the morning of January 3rd. The company stated, “First of all, please listen to TVXQ’s improved skills in their song before you make a judgment. The song is an expression of love and heartbreak between two lovers.”

SNSD's Yuri and miss A member Min's heartwarming interaction has become popular topic.
During the recent MBC Gayo Daejun, while greeting other singers on the show, Yuri held Min's hand. Yuri petted shy Min's shoulder after pulling her to the middle of the stage, and helped her end her greeting. Also, after Min said, "Happy new year," Yuri could be seen hugging and encouraging her.
Fans seemed surprised at this interaction between the two idols. They commented, "I thought girl groups would have a bit of a war of nerves between each other, so this is a little unexpected", "It's nice seeing Yuri helping Min so kindly like an older sister", and, "Min seemed to have gained confidence to send her greeting after Yuri's encouragement. It looked heartwarming."

On the "Heroes" episode that aired on the 2nd, the members turned into one-day teachers for high school seniors and gave them a lecture. IU based her lecture on starting out in society as an adolescent.
She said, "I debuted when I was in my third year of middle school. I thought I'd do well, but I failed horribly and I even got cursed at. I thought if I sung, everyone would listen, but no one cared. Some people even told me to get lost on my debut stage. That was the first time I was disappointed in myself. It was a special album to me, but it completely flopped. I worried that the company wouldn't let me sing anymore, especially because I was bad at studying. I didn't care about an audience, I just wished I had a stage to sing on."
"A chance came only when I stopped being greedy. I went with a cute concept to match my age. 'Boo' had a mediocre success, so I thought I'd never be able to come out on variety shows but I'm a permanent member in Heroes, and I also don't lose on rankings. I'm a little surprised, but it feels good."
"When you're young, people look over a lot of things. But you can't be locked up in that. People are going to stop taking care of you because you're young. Once you take off your school uniform and enter society, people are going to stop accepting all you do."

SM Entertainment and Mnet Media have been known for their tumultuous relationship ever since SME raised questions of standards against Mnet during SNSD’s “Gee” promotions.
Since then, SME stopped supplying their artists’ songs to the company, and have boycotted all of Mnet’s events such as the “2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards.” Songs from Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x) and other SM Entertainment artists are still not available through the Mnet site.
Yet the recent release of TVXQ’s “Keep Your Head Down” has raised questions regarding their relationship once more, but this time in a positive light. Mnet was the first music site allowed to distribute the song, leading many to speculate the two to be making up and moving on from past controversies.
On January 3rd, SM Entertainment representatives revealed, “We have been persistently working together on resolving the past conflicts regarding with our music distribution and have been met with positive results, leading for us to release TVXQ’s new song to them. We will soon be supplying our other artists’ songs to Mnet in the future.”
