SBS dominates ratings for 2010 year-end shows

SBS has managed to come out smiling in the competition between year-end shows.

Taking away the fact that different shows were shown on different days from December 25th – 31st, SBS still managed to dominate rankings during this period (with the exception of the ‘KBS Entertainment Awards‘, which was the only award show on the 25th).

A SBS representative said, “The fact that SBS took #1 in ratings amongst all of the other broadcast programs celebrating the year-end, meant that viewers were that much more interested in us. We will be showing off a variety of well-planned programs for our viewers to love and enjoy.”

I think it's probably because SBS had such an awesome show last year, so people were looking forward to it (me included, sorely disappointed but thankful for Taemin with a whip). I think next year chances are MBC might have higher rankings...

Really? SBS was definitely the worst of the lot. MBC and KBS's Gayo's were much better.
And KBS drama awards > SBS drama awards, if only in my heart, since the presence of JYJ automatically gives a bonus coolness factor of 100% /biased
(not to mention, I was more interested in KBS dramas this year...)

i think it's easy to explain. sbs was the first gayo to be aired, and people had high expectations for it because of last year. not only that, but mbc's gayo was last in line, i can bet that a lot of people grew tired of dem damn gayos by then.

not only that, but it was on the 31st, so quite a number of people must've been preparing for new years instead of watching a tv show.

Not surprised, people probably tuned in because in 2009 SBS Gayo was only Gayo worth watching. Pity that SBS didn't deliver this time, oh well, they will probably see the impact in the audience amount for next Gayo. And MBC should really consider moving its Gayo away from New Year's Eve as who the fuck watches TV then as it's party time!

Ugh, there was so much wrong with SBS's gayo that it wasn't even funny. I'm sure next year they will definitely not have the highest ratings, but it's a shame MBC got the lowest because it was the only one worth watching :(

i read that a part that frustrate viewers on MBC is there's suppose to be a voting going on but teams were not clear. if I know of this I'd get frustrated too coz I'd pay attention but then I just watched at YT (and knowing Korea they're highly competitive at this). but I really enjoyed MBC's the most.

i think it's just the fact that it was the first one so people commented more, and i think most of them were about how disappointed they are. and the other shows didn't get as many comments because people were wary and didn't want to be disappointed again after the disaster that was sbs gayo so less people watched and commented lol.

the only part of sbs gayo that i liked was the 2am & baek jiyoung and maknae specials, and even the latter was a big mess. compared to 2008 or hell, even 2009, sbs gayo did horrible this year. the only thing they had going for them was the stage setup and they even fucked that up.

kbs was quite good this year, definitely better than sbs, but mbc definitely took home the trophies for best performances and production.

I think it was all because of last year's. Since the previous year's SBS gayo was good, people tune in expecting a good show. lol
Too bad all they saw was staffs running on stage while the singers were performing, mics malfunctions, shots of the walls instead of the singers' faces, broken platforms, etc. lol

I can't contain my laughter when i saw two staffs running across the stage blocking BEAST during Soom perf. LMAO
