Kim So Eun gets sued

Despite initially stating that there were no issues with Kim So Eun's withdrawal from 4th Period Murder Mystery movie in June, the production company, Sway Entertainment has now backtracked on that decision and have filed a lawsuit against Kim So Eun.

Sway Entertainment filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central Court on 22nd September, asking for Kim So Eun to return all appearance fees paid to her during the filming of the movie and compensation for her backing out of the contract.

The lawsuit stated that Sway Entertainment had given Kim So Eun 40 million KRW as appearance fees. But due to fatique and scheduling conflicts, Kim So Eun had to drop the movie role in the middle of filming. Sway Entertainment claimed that although Kim So Eun said that she was exhausted, she still went on to film a MV for 8Eight and appear at other events, and thus failed to adhere to terms as stated in the contract.

N.O.A Entertainment expressed disbelief, "Filming for the movie was already 80% completed and then they changed the director suddenly, forcing the movie to be reshot again. But we couldn't comply with that as that would interfere with So Eun's schedule for The Man Who Can't Marry. And after discussions with them, it was decided that So Eun would drop out of the movie with no issues at all between all parties."

N.O.A Entertainment added, "They are obviously trying to shift the blame onto someone. We were only following what has already been planned beforehand for Kim So Eun. If the need arises, we will file a counter lawsuit against them."

Newbie actress Kang Sora stepped in for Kim So Eun after the latter opted out, while Yoo Seung Ho continued filming for the movie.

And an extra tidbit, the movie bombed at the box office.

Big Bang TaeYang will be releasing his 2nd solo album this autumn.

Yang HyunSeok left a message on YG Entertainment official homepage on 24th September saying, “Mid-October, TaeYang will be releasing a digital album and MV to comeback title ‘Where U At’.:

But the date for TaeYang’s full length 2nd album release has yet been confirmed.
According to YG, TaeYang will be promoting for a longer period of time as compared to his 1st solo album activities. YG also revealed that they will take on a multi-angle approach to TaeYang’s promotions this time round.
He added, “The filming for TaeYang’s ‘Where U At’ MV will take place this weekend (3rd week of September), together with director Seo HyunSeung.”

Shin Hyeon-joon beats up his agent?

Actor Shin Hyeon-joon has been arrested for harrassing his agent!

Shin is currently being sued for the violence commited to his agent.

More interrogation and specifics about this is being proceeded by the Seoul police.

Not much information is being told so we must wait and see what the real story is. It is known that the agent who sued Shin has turned off his phone and is rejecting all contacts.

KARA to endorse roasted chicken

Shortly after being chosen to be endorsers for shoe Megastore LesMore, popular girl group KARA has been chosen to be endorsers for Jinjin Food System's "Good Because it's Roasted Chicken" oven-roasted chicken product line.

KARA has exploded in popularity this year with "Mister" and "Wanna," and are quickly becoming a popular choice for companies to endorse their products. There's even talks of KARA going to Japan to endorse some products there as well.

Jinjin Food Systems on why they chose KARA, “KARA has been attracting many fans from the younger age bracket and their popularity keeps rising thanks to their young and fresh charm. The filming for the CF and photo shoot occurred earlier today on September 23rd. When KARA was asked about the endorsement they replied, "We always wanted to become models for chicken, which are said to be done only by stars, we're even happier as well because we like chicken.”

They're right about stars endorsing chicken. Some stars who have endorsed chicken in the past: Kim Jong Kook, Super Junior, Wonder Girls, Kim Hyun Joong, Leeroy Jenkins, and Big Bang's Daesung.

Gagman Park MyungSoo has spoken up about the plagiarism accusations made against Kpop artistes.

Park MyungSoo spoke on MBC FM4U ‘2PM Date with Park MyungSoo‘ on 23rd September, “It is not right to say who, but on the internet we all know that, and I find it weird that some people are insisting that it is not plagiarism. Rather, people call it sampling, when it gets tiring it becomes a comic and entertainment.”

And Bae GiSang and Sang DaeHyun who were the guest appearance on the show that day said, “Yes we should be honest about it.”

“Plagiarisms is a national humiliation. Foreigners are saying, ‘Are you a country without your own creation?’. This serves as an awakening call to musician to make their own creations.”

After Park MyungSoo’s input on the plagiarism issue, there were heated discussion online by netizens. Some said, “This is a good awakening call for artistes”, “Ain’t this a little too rash considering that it is not confirmed if the songs are plagiarism?”, “Park MyungSoo is not even talking about GDragon’s plagiarism case.”etc

Rain to participate in Singapore F1 event with world stars like Beyonce

Singer Rain will be participating for car racing F1 (Formula 1) with world star Beyonce.

Coming 27th September, ‘2009 F1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix’ will take place in Singapore. And Rain will be amongst the crowd of artistes at the event like Lindsay Lohan, No Doubt, Black Eyed Peas etc.

It is said that Rain will also be promoting his upcoming Hollywood film ‘Ninja Assassin’ set to air in November over in Singapore.


Rain will be appearing on various media broadcast shows in Singapore like ‘F1 Rocks’. Also, he will be making a visit to ‘Chinese and Japanese Garden’. He will also be interacting with the winner of 2008 Grand Prix Mark Webber.

This event will be covered by media from over 200 countries like BBC, ESPN, Fuji TV, CCTV, MTV etc.

Meanwhile, Rain will be back in Korea after finishing his promotions in Singapore on the 24th. And he will be preparing for his 2009 Asia tour ‘Legend of Rainism’ in Seoul on 9th and 10th October.

When in Thailand, XING was on the popular Thai variety show Teen Plus Show four weeks in a row. Even though they are back in South Korea, only two of the four episodes have been aired so far. Official TPS photos included as well as many fantaken ones.

Eugene talks about her new drama role

Creating Destiny [인연 만들기] is actress-singer Eugene’s next project, and the star recently spoke out about the cheerful romantic comedy. She plays a lawyer-to-be who had grown up in Australia, who has a “Tom and Jerry-like” series of encounters with Ki Tae-young, the man with whom she is set up for an arranged marriage. (I presume “Tom and Jerry-like” means their relationship is antagonistic, rather than one always trying to kill the other, who always outsmarts him.)

The drama features many veteran actors like Ban Hyo-jung, Im Hyun-shik and Kang Nam-gil, and is as much about familial love as it is about romantic love. Eugene explained why she picked this project, saying, “When I read the script, the plot was incredibly refreshing. … I think this will be an original drama. If you consider that most of the dramas these days show young people falling in love and their parents opposing the match, this drama starts off the compete opposite.”

Eugene explained that it was easier getting into character because she is similar to her character; they both enjoy romantic manhwas and grew up overseas. They both also have bright and upbeat personalities, so acting the part is not terribly difficult.

Creating Destiny is scheduled for an October 10 premiere.

COOL’s Yuri Loves 2PM’s WooYoung



Cool's Yuri has expressed her undeniable love for 2PM. She was a guest on Golden Fishery - Radio Star this week where she admitted that she was a fan girl of 2PM like everyone else. "I don't think that there's any girl right now that doesn't like 2PM."

When she was asked by MC Shin Jung Hwan who her favorite member was, she replied by saying, "I won't admit that easily!" She was saying this so that she would stay out of trouble with 2PM's fans.

Yuri had admitted in the past that she liked Jaebeom to Shin Jung Hwan in another program and that confession drew bad reactions from fans. Since then, I guess Yuri knows to keep quiet.

But she didn't keep herself quiet for long. When asked if she would change any of her members from COOL with 2PM members she said, "I would want to add WooYoung!" Shin Jung Hwan cracked everybody up by adding, "There goes one more on her list."

Fellow member Lee Jae Hoon commented that Yuri seems to go to broadcast centers and sets just to see idols. He said that Yuri always lurks around idols' dressing rooms. Another member, Kim Sung Soo said, "It will be weird to not have Yuri around. But I am referring to SNSD's Yuri."

No one can deny the idol wave in Korea but it's sad to think that Yuri couldn't give her answer as Jaebeom this time.
