Super Junior KangIn has been put on a non-restraint rule with his involvement in recent case of assault.

KangIn was recently involved in an assault case in a drinking bar on the early morning of 16th September in Seoul.

Now netizens are angry, not at the fact that KangIn participated in the fight, but that he lied that he did participate in the fight.

2PM back in activities promotion, but not as 6 members

2PM will take the stage once again after the withdrawal of leader member Park JaeBum. But, they will not be appearing as 6 members, only 1~2 members will appear on stage at once.
2PM’s name has appeared on the invitation list for SBS 2009 Super Model Contest on which will be held on 25th September. But only member Nich Khun will appear to perform a ballad number.
A SBS staff said, “2PM Nich Khun will appear to sing a ballad song as an invited singer. The 6 members will not appear on stage together, but we are looking at having 2 members on stage, which includes Nich Khun.”

ETA: Nichkhun won't perform on Super Model Contest event which will be held on September 25. However, Junho and Junsu each will be singing one of their favorite songs on the stage instead. In addition, they won't record their stage because they official stopped all the activities on TV.

MC Kang Ho Dong reveals a story where he met top stars Jang Dong Gun and Hyun Bin at a sauna.

On the YSMM 2 on August 31st, Kang Ho Dong replied to "After debuting, what celebrities made you feel inferior" by choosing Jang Dong Gun and Hyun Bin.

He expressed his surprise and said, "When I went to a sauna recently I saw both of them. Actors nowadays, whatever trend they may be following, have such chiseled bodies."

Epik High member Tablo, who will be getting married with actress Kang HyeJung coming October, has pointed out that the best brain in Epik High is DJ Tukutz.

Tablo was on KBS 2TV ‘1 Against 100′ aired on 22nd September where he has taken up the challenge to win the 50 million KRW prize but he suffered defeat at the 10th stage.

And then fellow member DJ Tukutz said, “It seems like genius Tablo has made a mistake. Tablo is stupid. It’s just all an illusion.”

Tablo then replied, “That’s right. The smartest person in Epik High is DJ Tukutz.”

He added, “DJ Tukutz is on the internet the whole day. He read everything funny on the news and manhwa (comic). A representative netizen.” rousing laughter during the filming.

Meanwhile, on the show that day, Tablo also appeared on the show with his elder brother Lee SunMin (Dav) who graduated from Columbia University.

Jang Dong Gun and Baek Ji Young get individual photo spreads in the October issue of Esquire, and the results are… interesting. Baek Ji Young’s resemble promotional shots for the musical Chicago (complete with Velma ciggie in hand). Jang Dong Gun’s layout is more of the experimental sort, but for some reason he brings to mind Johnny Depp in his profile photos. Maybe it’s the angle? No doubt in Korea, he’s just as celebrated an actor.

A drama teaser to upcoming special drama series ‘Soul Special’, which costs over hundred thousands of KRW in the making, has been revealed.

Singer K Will will make his drama debut through this special drama series together with other big actor names like Han Hyo Joo and Kim Dong Wook.

There will be in all 12 episodes, which lasting for about 5 minutes. The whole drama series will be revealed in 4 parts on KBS channel.

Cafe Noir earns praise at Venice International Film Festival

Cafe Noir is notable for being the debut film for its director, film critic Jung Sung-il. It is also now notable drawing praise at its world premiere screening at the recent Venice International Film Festival (as the only selection from Asia).

Cafe Noir was described by one of the festival’s executive committee members as showcasing a unique form, while a selection committee member praised it as “a film that you don’t often see from a new director.” A section director said, “When one discovers the hidden political message, which is sprinkled throughout the film, it would be difficult to suppress your astonishment at this film.”

The movie stars Shin Ha-kyun (Thirst) as a man who is addicted to sad love, Moon Jung-hee (My Sweet Seoul) as the woman who “loves him to death,” and Kim Hye-na (Yoga School) as the woman who loves him “more than life”. Jung Yumi (Chaw, Que Sera Sera) and “Hongdae uljjang” singer Yozoh are two women who hurt him, whom he decides to meet again in order to get over his pain.

Cafe Noir will also screen at the upcoming Pusan International Film Festival in October, which will be its first showing to Korean audiences. After all that praise (and mention of a hidden message), this is one I really want to see! I suppose critiquing films for a living gives one particular insight into knowing what does and doesn’t work for a film.

Sony/ATV Confirms Legal Action Against YG Songs

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has confirmed a report saying it is in the process of taking legal action against four songs it claims were plagiarized and released in the albums of YG Entertainment’s singers.

MBC’s “Current Affairs Magazine 2580″ show aired on September 20 had reported Sony had sent YG a notification which prohibits the use of the music without permission.

Lee Wan and Eunhyuk Join Dream Team; Junho leaves?

Super Junior member, Eunhyuk and actor Lee Wan will be the new faces of Dream Team Season Two.

Both will be joining the Young Dream Team, currently consisting of Minho from SHINee and Song Joong Ki. The PD explained, "SHINee's Minho and Joong Ki will be joined by Eunhyuk and Lee Wan for the upcoming episodes. After discussions with JYP Entertainment, Junho will not be appearing for the time being tentatively but we aren't ruling out the possibility of him appearing again in future."

The new members will have their first recording session on 14th October.

Wheesung eyes U.S. market with 'Darkchild'

Another popular Korean singer has gone off the reservation and into the North American pop market.

Local R&B hotshot Wheesung has teamed up with super-producer and VP of A&R for Island Def Jam records Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, the singer's management camp Pop Up Entertainment announced yesterday.

The deal will see the 27-year-old release his first digital single stateside early next year with two or three as-of-yet undetermined songs.

Police to turn over Kang-in case to prosecutors within week

Police are expected to turn over an assault case involving Super Junior member Kang-in to prosecutors within the week, according to police on Wednesday.

"We plan to turn over the case this week at the latest to have them indicted for assault," said an official at Seoul Gangnam Police Station.

Police on Monday had booked seven people, including Kang-in, for engaging in a fight at a bar a week ago.

The 24-year-old singer had denied being violent but closed circuit television footage confirmed that he got into a physical scuffle with a customer who continuously followed him around to try and pick a fight.

Kang-in is a vocal of the 13-member group which is widely popular throughout Asia.

Top Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon answers a question at a press conference of an event held to promote the publication of his new photo essay at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul on September 22, 2009.

"Yonsama" has debuted as a writer. His first book "Discovering the Beauty of Korea" which comes 15 years after his debut in 1994 TV series "Love Greeting", suits his nickname as the the 'Hallyu missionary'.

K-Pop Boom in Asia Sheds Light on Korea’s Unique Talent Search

The boy group 2PM performs on a television show.

Approximately 23,000 aspiring singers from elementary school students to those in their early 20s flocked to the JYP Entertainment's talent search held in Seoul last month.

Only four were picked as JYP trainees, scheduled to go through the years-long training program before making their debut.

The record-high turnout in the audition came after the JYP trainee program gained the reputation of a machine producing K-pop idols, such as Wonder Girls and 2PM.

Not only JYP, but also other entertainment businesses have seen a huge number of aspiring stars participating in their talent searches.

Despite the K-pops' phenomenal success in Asia, hallyu experts warn the popularity of Korean pop icons may be short-lived if the bad practices in the industry, which only benefit entertainment businesses while idols income is minimal, persists.

Clazziquai Alex and Horan deny living together

Clazziquai members Alex and Horan have denied rumours about them living together, while appearing on tvN ‘Taxi’ recently, saying “Definitely not true”.

They revealed, “We found it ridiculous after learning about rumours saying that we are living together.”

Alex, “There is no way the 2 of us will develop into lovers. I want to be Horan’s friend forever.”

He added, “My first impression of Horan was that she was arrogant and smart and also hard to get close to. But we got close after 8 bottles of soju, some chicken feet and conger.”

In Clazziquai, currently Alex and Horan are single and member DJ Clazzi is married.

Meanwhile, Alex also revealed more about the group Clazziquai, “Actually the vocalist Christina for Clazziquai is my real noona. She was part of Clazziquai initially and introduced me into the group. Clazziquai consists of 4 members – me, Horan, Christina and DJ Clazzi. Christina and DJ Clazzi only take part in the recording of albums, when it comes to broadcast programmes, me and Horan will be the ones in charge.”

2PM JunHo and JunSu confirmed for SBS Super Model Contest appearance

Coming 25th September for ‘SBS 2009 Super Model Contest’ to be held in Seoul KyeongNam, 2PM will only have 2 members appearing on stage to perform.
Members JunHo and Junsu will be performing that day, instead of the 6 members of the group after leader member JaeBum withdrew from the group recently.
According to a staff from SBS Super Model contest, “We respect the decision that the group will not go on broadcast activities for a while since the withdrawal of member JaeBum.”
The staff also revealed that it was planned and confirmed earlier this year that the group will appear for the contest to perform. But with the recent withdrawal of member JaeBum from the group, all activities and events planned for the group are currently put on hold or cancelled.
The group will be promoting as 6 members. But for this Super Model Contest, while JunSu and JunHo will be performing that day, the performance will not be broadcasted.
It is said that JunSu and JunHo will each sing one of their favourite songs on stage that day.

District Court Rejected SM’s Preservation of Evidence Cancellation Request

SM Entertainment (hereafter SM) filed a request to the court to cancel the submission of “preservation of evidence” application as being requested by TVXQ members Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, and Xiah Junsu, however, the request was rejected.

One of the litigants through a phone call with Money Star News on the 23rd said, “On last 18th, the court rejected SM’s cancellation request of evidence preservation. Claimant side’s, the three TVXQ members, preservation of evidence application is still up and will receive document submission related to earnings from SM.”

The Seoul Central District Court prosecutor explained the reason of the rejection, “The fact which has been drawn up is about legal relationship between the artists and their agency company, and in compliance with law of civil procedure article 2 section 344, the document holder side couldn’t refuse to submit the documents that become object of document submission order assertion from the complainants.”

On August 5th, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu side submitted a preservation of evidence to the court to calculate the real income distribution of all TVXQ activities from SM Entertainment. The preservation of evidences demanded including accounting books, contracts, receipts, journals, and any relevant documents related to the income distribution calculation.

With the court rejection, seems that the document release by SM is now inevitable.

Currently both sides of SM and 3 TVXQ members has been waiting for the court decision after the first hearing on 21st last month.

UKiss signs up with Hong Kong East Asia company, promotions in Asia next year

6-member boybang UKiss is known to have signed an exclusive belonging contract with Hong Kong actor Andy Lau’s company East Asia, and they will be actively promoting in Asia.

With this contract, UKiss will be up to many opportunities like drama and movie acting. Already, the group recently participated the ‘Summer Pop Concert’ on 15th and 16th last month in Hong Kong Asia World Expo Arena with other singers like Ah Mei, Leon Lai, Joey Rong and Karen Mok. They performed the song ‘Not Young’, ‘Talk to me’ and ‘Like you’.

It helps that UKiss can speak up to several international languages like Mandarin and English. And they are well received by fans over in Asia.

An East Asia staff said, “There has been many love calls for UKiss to promote in other parts in Asia. With East Asia, we hope to treasure this good opportunity to help them in other activities like CF, drama and music albums.”

The boy recorded 'Happy Camp' earlier this week. Unfortunately, the air date still hasn't been set though rumor is that it won't air until November. Indeed, someone out there really hates us. :(

Brown Eyed Girls GaIn flies to the States for vacation

After collapsing due to fatigue recently, GaIn was discharged from the hospital on 23rd September.

Her company said on 23rd September, “She was discharged in the morning. She is feeling much better now. She don’t feel any different from before. GaIn is very enthusiastic about work, as soon as she was discharged she had rejoined the team to prepare for their public performance.”

With the company representative also added, “She will be flying to the States on 24th September. She will be staying there for about 1 week.”
GaIn had fainted their quarters early morning while taking a short rest in between schedules and was hospitalised on 22nd September. After which, all 4 schedules planned for 22nd September has been cancelled.
It was also revealed that GaIn has been working late nights for 3 days straight due to CF filming etc. And her health condition has been a worry.

Talent Lee MinHo’s fanclub is known to have donated 9.97 million KRW to UNICEF.

DCInside ‘Lee MinHo Gallery’ fans have recently done a fund-raising for UNICEF malaria campaign. Fans donated the amount of 6.22 million KRW, which stands for a special meaning because Lee MinHo’s birthday falls on 22nd June. Also another fancafe Dave donated 3.75 million KRW which made up to the 9.97 million KRW amount.
