FT Island performing "I Hope" without Hongki?

They performed "I Hope" at Jangsu Hanwoo Apple Festival 2009 on September 18th without the lead singer Hongki. Seunghyun and Jaejin took over the main vocals.

I think they did pretty well. Seunghyun did great on the first verse. Jaejin was good too but as expected, he had a bit of a trouble hitting the high note that even Hongki missed a few times. I keep thinking of the trot version that they did whenever I hear Jaejin singing the chorus. lol

f(x)'s Krystal's love for her sister, "I have to kidnap Jessica"



Krystal, the youngest member of the five-member, super rookie girl group f(x), revealed her overflowing love for her older sister, SNSD's Jessica.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, Krystal uploaded a picture of her on her me2day [Korean Twitter] page. In it, she is staring off to the side and the comment under it reads, "This picture shows me waiting for something."

She also wrote, "What am I waiting for? Jessica? I have to quickly kidnap Jessica. Hehe." People can get a glimpse of Krystal's trust and love for Jessica.

It has been revealed that Jessica gives advice to Krystal, who has just debuted, whenever she has free time, and that her love for her little sister is uncommonly strong.

Krystal is a member of f(x), a group that debuted earlier this month with the song 'LA chA TA'. Currently, the group is actively promoting in public and on broadcasts.

4minute's HyunA under criticism for super short mini-dress

Girl group 4Minute’s member Kim HyunA has been put under the chopping board of the netizens for the performing costumes she wore, which was deemed indecent and inappropriate for the young fans.

A video of HyunA performing with 4Minute on their new song ‘Muzik’ has been uploaded on Youtube on 19th September, and HyunA’s mini-dress was spotted constantly going up while she carries out the choreography of the song. While she was dancing, the really short miniskirt kept going up, to the point her underpants was visible. HyunA was even seen pulling her mini-dress down.

Obviously, the fashion malfunction lies in the fault of the group’s fashion coordinator.

‘Sarang Ingulyo’ by SNSD TaeYeon and Sunny up #1 on music charts

The OST song ‘Sarang Ingulyo’ sung by So Nyeo Shi Dae TaeYeon and Sunny has been gaining much popularity going up to the #1 spot on Cyworld realtime chart. All the OST songs sung by TaeYeon have been all hit songs. And this time, she sings the love theme song for drama ‘Heading To The Ground’ with fellow member Sunny.

The song is #1 up on Cyworld realtime chart for popular song top 10 at 12.00 and up #1 on OST chart on 24th September.

Taegoon takes the empty place of Cho Shin Sung in T-ara’s performance for Music Core

T-ara goes on stage together with Taegoon at MBC's Music Core.

Taegoon takes the empty place of Cho Shin Sung and helps out T-ara at this week's Music Core on 26th. They will perform together 'TTL (Time To Love)'.

T-ara published their digital single, they did together with Cho Shin Sung, on 15th and are now active with their project single 'TTL (Time To Love)'. Cho Shin Sung published their Japan debut single 'キミだけをずっと'('kimi dake wo zutto') on 9th. The single takes 5th place of the daily oricon charts and 7th of the weekly charts.

For the activities of 'TTL' they came back from Japan urgently on the 15th and were active for a week in Korea. Having planned a Live Concert in Osaka on 25th and in Tokyo on 27th, they went back to Japan.

Taegoon is currently active with 'Betrayed', but to be able to show a new image to the fans, he works hard practicing the choreography for TTL together with T-ara.

R&B group VOS to debut in Japan

Korean R&B group VOS is set to debut in Japan, according to their agency on Friday.

The three-member boy band signed a contract with Japanese talent agency JAKOL, who also manage K-pop groups SG Wannabe and Choshinsung's music career in Japan.

VOS is scheduled to release their debut album in Japan in November and hold a concert at Tokyo Melpark Hall on December 13.

VOS, which stands for "Voice of Soul", debuted in 2004 and have released three full-length albums in Korea.

Epik High reaches Top100 on iTunes

Korean hip-hop group Epik High has entered the iTunes Top 100 chart with their sixth album, according to a press release.

The three-member band's latest album "[e]" placed in the Top 100 of Hip-Hop/Rap chart on iTunes, ahead of American hip-hop artists like Nas and Timbaland, on Wednesday.

Epik High, composed of Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz, debuted in 2003 with the album "Map of the Human Soul" and gained popularity with the success of their consequent albums "High Society" and "Swan Songs".

The group released their sixth album "[e]" on September 16.

Korean actor Lee Jun-ki has been voted the top Hallyu star in China, according to his agency on Friday.

The actor came in first, beating Rain and actress Song Hye-kyo, in the "2009 Most Popular Korean Star" survey held by CRI Online, a major portal in China, Mentor Entertainment said in a press release.

JQT Is A Girl Group

Another girl group joins the K-Pop scene! Please welcome the rookie girl group JQT.

Do you guys remember the girl group from few years ago called i-13? Well, they were supposed to be a large girl group, like Super Junior but it didn't really work out. They didn't succeed and disbanded. Now 3 of those 13 girls are coming back as JQT with one other member! Their names are Park Min Jung, Lee Ji Eun, Park Ga Jin, and the one who made the group through an audition, Joo Min Sun. Joo Min Sun was picked out of 200 people for this group!

You're probably wondering, What in the world does JQT mean? Well the J is the letter that is in all four girls' names, the Q and T stand for QUALITY and QUARTET.

The teaser was released already and it has been viewed over 200,000 times in Korea! They have been getting lots of attention before their debut and they will build the hype when they release their single, "I Fell For You" on October 6th.

Actress Kang Hye Jung's picture with new girl group 2NE1 has been getting attention since its release.

2NE1's Sandara Park posted up a picture of them with Kang Hye Jung on the 24th aroung 1PM on Me2Day.

G-Dragon to hold 1st solo concert in Dec

G-Dragon, leader of popular idol group Big Bang, is set to hold his first-ever solo concert in December, according to his agency on Thursday.

"His first solo concert will be held about twice during the first week of December," announced Yang Hyun-suk, founder and CEO of YG Entertainment on the agency's official website.

Yang added the performances will be held at the Gymnastics Gymnasium in the Olympic Park with tickets to go on sale after the Chuseok holidays in early October.

The 21-year-old songwriter, rapper and singer, recently topping the charts with his first solo single "Heartbreaker", has also been the subject of heated debate on whether he plagiarized Flo Rida's "Right Round'.

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has said it is in the process of taking legal action against the song and three others it claims were plagiarized and released in the albums of YG Entertainment's singers.

Korean Wave star Kwon Sang-woo will be installing a life-size doll of himself in his shop in Japan, according to his official website.

"I just got back from a short, busy schedule in Japan," the 33-year-old actor wrote on his online fan cafe on Thursday. "I even produced a life-size wax doll for the shop opening in December."

The Hallyu star went on to say, "I've been very busy since I got back. It's a secret but you'll find out in December."

Kwon has starred in several successful movies including "My Tutor Friend" in 2003 and "Love, So Divine" in 2004. But his most famous role to date was in the 2003 TV series "Stairway to Heaven", which co-starred another Hallyu star Choi Ji-woo and became a hit throughout Asia.

He married Korean actress Son Tae-young in 2008, who gave birth to a boy earlier this year, and opened a coffee shop "Tea'Us" in Seoul's trendy Myeongdong district in May.

True to his words, actor Kwon Sang Woo have got together with his wife, Son Tae Young, with their baby son, Luke Kwon in tow for a photoshoot which will be published in the October issue of W magazine.

The photoshoot was planned to squash rumors of Kwon Sang Woo and Son Tae Young divorcing which got bandied around in July. On the other hand, it was also done to celebrate their first anniversary as a wedding couple and revealing baby Luke Kwon to the world.

The photoshoot is really to die for as we finally get a glimpse of their son who has the genes of suave daddy and beautiful mum. He is sure going to turn up even cuter in a few years time. The rest of the shots are really well-taken, especially the risque black and white pictures of Kwon Sang Woo and Son Tae Young, as they looked really sizzling sexy and hot. What a good looking and happy family!

Kim Hyun Joo, who recently starred in KBS2 drama Partner and made appearances in the hit series Boys Over Flowers as the kind, beautiful older sister of rich boy Goo Joon Pyo, made a trip up north... to Canada!

The starlet actress went on a 10 day eco vacation with the SURE magazine team and had a photoshoot... or did she? This shoot was more of a vacation because the actress didn't really have to put much effort into poising and all the other hectic chaos that happens during a photo session. The magazine wanted a natural feel out of the actress and the environment so they just took pictures of her in her natural state (with make up of course) and had her pose specifically and go through wardrobe only for a few photos.

The vacation consisted of visiting Vancouver, Whistler, and Victoria, Canada in order to enjoy the huge eco-life there. The magazine wanted a "natural feel" from the photos because Kim Hyun Joo is actually a big public activist when it comes to a healthy environment. The actress, who is going to be the public ambassador of New York's climate awareness "I Love Earth" museum, expressed having no difficulties adjusting to an eco-friendly style of life.

In an interview with SURE magazine she said, "I unplug all unused electricity, limit electric fan activity, and replace plastic bags with fabric bags. It may be a bit uncomfortable for us but it makes the Earth more comfortable. Being eco-friendly shouldn't be a trend but a common ideology that we should all share."
