MBC changes format: 2PM & Suju attend "Introducing star's friend" survival meeting

MBC's “Introducing star’s friend” will have a new format begin from June 20th. They will have a “survival meeting”. Every week there will be 5 male celebrities and 4 female star-wannabes. They will be set up in a meeting. Every week one person from male team will be eliminated depending on female team’s opinion and another male star will replace him next week.

The male team of the 1st week will be actor Lee Kyuhan, SuJu Leeteuk & Eunhyuk, 2PM’s Jaebeom & Chansung, the leader of the male team will be Boom and the leader of female team will be Eun Jiwon. 2PM’s Nichkhun will be the replacement of the one who gets eliminated on the 1st week.

The 1st episode of “Introducing Star’s Friend” new format will be filmed on June 14th and will be aired on June 20th.

Netizens pick the best drama kiss scene!

The famous HanKyul-EunChan kiss scene from drama Coffee Prince has been voted by the netizens as best drama kiss scene. QOOK TV did a survey on 500 people aged 20~30 on the best drama kiss scenes from dramas after 2000. And the results were revealed on 11th June.
And the kiss scene between HanKyul (Gong Yoo) and EunChan (Yoon Eun Hye) in the drama Coffee Prince aired in 2007 was chosen as the best kissing scene.

2nd went to the kiss scene between Goo Joon Pyo (Lee Min Ho) and Geum Jandi (Goo Hye Sun) in the recent drama Boys Over Flowers. 3rd goes to the the kiss scene between MooHyuk (So Ji Sub) and Eun Chae (Im Soo Jung) in the drama ‘Sorry, I Love You’.

Top singer Jang Yoon-jung, 29, says she hopes to have four children after marriage.

Jang, who surprised the entertainment community by announcing that she is in love with entertainer No Hong-chul earlier this week, made the remark during an interview with "Nightly TV Entertainment" on SBS-TV Wednesday night. The interview was taped before the couple expressed their love publicly.

In the interview, she said, "I want to give birth to many babies. Given my age, I will have to marry soon. I'd like to have four children."

Pop Icon Seo to Release 8th Album June 25

Korean pop artist Seo Tai-ji, 37, will release his eighth album under the title "Seotaiji 8th Atomos" on June 25, his management agency announced Tuesday.

The album will be a collection of 12 songs, including a single released in July 2008.

Moreover, it will contain another two singles to be unveiled on Saturday at the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan, central Seoul, which doubles as the opening of his band's 2009 live tour, "The Mobius."

"Seo has remixed the first two singles and even recorded the instrumental and vocal sound again in part," a spokesman said. "We are ready to work with American recording engineer Ted Jensen on sound sources of all the 12 numbers."

As the chief engineer at Sterling Sound, Jensen has mastered top class musicians such as Green Day and Marilyn Manson.

The first 100,000 fans who buy the new album will be presented with a tour poster, the spokesman said.

At the age of 25, Seo In Young is adding another title to her resume: fashion designer. She has launched her own store in Korea through Baby Phat, a popular urban fashion line for women designed by Kimora Lee Simmons.

She said herself that running a "clothing line business was a dream of mine. There were many offers from many companies, but none that interested me enough. The United States has a lot of market research for fashion."

At the turn of the new millennium, Harisu created a sensation as Korea's first transgender-transsexual entertainer. People were shocked to notice her Adams apple ― though it was actually digitally rendered ― in a makeup campaign, but mostly accepted the model-singer-actress as a "woman more beautiful than a woman".

First there is a need to clarify two often interchangeably used terms. A transgender is not necessarily transsexual, since gender refers to self-identification and social roles while sex denotes anatomical differences. The former refers to someone whose sexual identity can be best described as ambiguous since it does not conform to widely accepted gender roles and sexual norms, while the latter is someone who identifies him or herself as a member of the opposite sex.

Someone who was born female but feeling male all his life may prefer to be called a man, and this transsexual may undergo physical operations such as chest reconstruction or testosterone therapy. His sexual identity and sexual orientation are however two different things. He may be attracted to men, and thus be a gay female-toward-male (FTM) transgender.

Music site Monkey3 did a survey in lieu of the upcoming Kiss Day on 14th June on ‘The song you wish to hear on Kiss Day’. And song ‘I love’ by Rain came up #1 on the survey.

Also Rain has also been voted #1 for the 2nd time through for the survey for ‘Entertainer with the most charming lips’. And the most of the reasons that came up for voting Rain’s ‘I love’ on the Kiss Day survey was that because he was voted #1 for the ‘Entertainer with the most charming lips’.

Movie Star Oh Kwang Rok Charged for Smoking Pot

The Seoul South Gate Police Station has requested at the 11th an arrest warrant for Oh Kwang Rok (47) because of the suspicion of smoking Marihuana (violation of the drug law).

Mr.Oh admitted to the police when the suspicion was confirmed that he had smoked pot - around mid-February in the Seoul Seong Bug Gu district in a private residence together with Mr. Park Mo (40, under restraint) they had rolled up weed in paper and smoked it etc. several times.

The recent suspicion is that Mr. Park bought the weed from an unidentifiable supplier since the June of last year until recently, spreading the amount more than 10 times in friends' houses, drinking bars, and other places like that.

In their statement the police declared that Mr. Park shared the pot with other actors, directors, rock artists etc., familiar in the showbiz and other parties, and that they are continuing to expand their investigations.

BoA to hit up CNN for a 2nd interview

Singer BoA will be on world-known news channel CNN for a 2nd interview after 3 years. She will be on CNN as the newcomer singer advancing into the American market.

She wrote on her Twitter recently, “You guys will see me on CNN pretty soon. Did an interview with them in between production of the video.”

SM Entertainment also said, “It is true that BoA did an interview with CNN recently,” and revealed that the interview was done in the midst of BoA filming for the song ‘Energetic’ off her 1st full length American album.

Popular idol group SHINee's Minho spoke about the secret to passing his SM audition.

On the Star Golden Bell episode that will air on the 13th, SHINee returned with "Juliette" and since then, they have already won the number one spot on Music Bank. In the show, SHINee moved the hearts of all of the female guests.

On the show, Minho spoke about how he passed the SM audition. Minho said, "On the day of the audition, the tester told us to make a sad and depressing facial expression. When I was concentrating on the emotions, I suddenly laughed. Afterwards, I heard that the tester liked my facial expressions and because of that, I was able to pass my audition." After saying this, Minho shyly laughed again.

'Intimate Note' Gets a Format Change and Two More Hosts

Intimate Note 2 hosts

Lee Kyung Kyu and Eun Ji Won join Kim Gu Ra and Moon Hee Jun as hosts on SBS variety program, Intimate Note (절친노트). The program will undergo some changes and be called Intimate Note 2 beginning June 19. Rather than inviting guests who are uncomfortable with each other to resolve their problems on the show (previous guests include Sohee-Yoobin, Seungri-Daesung, and Kangin-Sungmin), the second season will invite celebrity best friends to show viewers what true friendship is like. Close friends Kim Je Dong, Yoon Do Hyun, Kim Jang Hoon, and Bae Chil Soo will be Intimate Note 2’s first featured guests.

Women's Groups Up in Arms Over Ruling on Late Actress

Women's groups are angry over the top court's ruling that ordered the late actress Choi Jin-sil to compensate a builder for failing to maintain "dignity" as a model representing its products.

They censured the Supreme Court for not realizing the suffering of domestic violence victims, which included Choi.

Korean Womenlink, the Korea Women's Hot Line, and the Korea Women's Association United issued a joint statement Wednesday lambasting the ruling.

Big Bang member SeungRi and DaeSung were in Seoul Lotte Hotel for the press conference for their upcoming music ‘Shouting’ on 12th June.

That day, SeungRi said, “This is my second try at musical. Even though I’m nervous and little pressured about it, I’ll work hard.”

“Because we had experience in musicals, we were cast instead of the other members. The other members are also giving us much support.”

SeungRi also talked about the aftermath of their appearance on SBS Close Note, “After the filming for the show, I am much more closer with DaeSung hyung. And with this production, we will present ourselves as even closer hyung and dongsaeng.”

SeungRi continued, “We hope that the youngsters who did not know much about musical culture but because of us, many of them will become more aware of it.”

SeungRi and DaeSung had participated in the musicals ‘Sonagi’ and Cats’ in 2008. And SeungRi even won the popularity award for the 3rd The Musical Awards.

Meanwhile the musical ‘Shouting’ will take place from 12th till 23rd August in Seoul HanJeon Art Centre. 1st window for tickets sales will start on 17th June.

Han Ye-Seul took the 1st ranking of best face shape among Korean women celebrities. The survey was made by A-one Plastic surgery from June 1st to June 7th. 812 people among 2453 people chose Han Ye-Seul as having the best face shape. Second and third place belonged to Kim Hye-soo and Shin Mina.
