Sometimes you hear about people like the guy who got hurt after trying to hug a panda bear and you think, “Oh, people are so stupid, they’re called panda BEARS for a reason!” And then you see pictures like this of Song Hye-gyo (The World They Live In, Full House) hugging a panda and it makes you totally want to commit similar acts of stupidity.

The actress has been named first ever goodwill ambassador on behalf of pandas worldwide (and “panda ambassador” has got to be the awesomest job title ever). She visited a panda reserve located in Sichuan, China, on June 4. The panda she is pictured holding is approximately 8 to 9 months old.

Her position isn’t solely dedicated to panda preservation, but also raising environmental awareness and promoting public interests. Song said, “I’ve seen pandas in pictures and in documentaries, but seeing one in person like this feels like a dream. This is a good opportunity and I’m happy to be even a little help.”

She added, “There are many animals needing protection in Korea as well. I have a particular interest in the Korean otter, which is a national treasure. I hope many fans in Asia will take an interest in preserving pandas and the environment, too.”

The Wonder Girls were in Beijing, China today for a studio interview with Sina.com. There were the usual interview questions with the Wonder Girls which I am not going to write on much since we have ALL heard it before. What's important though was the interview with JY Park who revealed his master plan outline about the Wonder Girls taking on America and China in the latter half of 2009.

During a fan signing event at Central World Paragon today, an interviewer asked Nichkhun whether he liked “hoi (clams)”, he chuckled and started listing all his favorite clam dishes. Finally, he broke down laughing and said “yes, I do.I like all types of clams. It’s my favorite food.” Why did he laugh when asked that question? In Thai, ‘hoi” literally means clams and it’s also a slang word for the “vajayjay”.

The clip of Nichkhun admitting he likes clams. I love the two guy hosts, they understood what Nichkhun was saying. “Nichkhun is Thai, he’s probably thinking of another meaning of ‘hoi’.” The girl host just scolded them for being perverted. He probably means “hoi” as in clams she said. Then one of the two guys said, “then why did he find it funny?”

Girl host:”He’s still a young man, why did they ask him about hois (clams)?”

“Because it is his favorite food.” The fat guy in red answered. We all know Khun’s favorite food is pork.

News came late that singer Bae Seul Gi had collapsed from overwork and was sent to the hospital after one of her recent performances.

She was performing on the programme at an air force academy in ChungCheongBook Do, and after the performance she had collapsed and was send to the hospital.

Her company said on the 10th, “She had got fatigue from the heavy schedule she was following recently. She had recovered after some rest and she was back in school today again.”

Bae Seul Gi released a minihalbum after 1 year and 6 months last April and has been promoting the song ‘Tiresome’ on various programmes off her minialbum.

She is currently filming for her movie ‘Finale’.

Who wants to receive a kiss from SS501 Kim Hyun Joong?

Apparently lots of people. Kim Hyun Joong took the top spot as the male celebrity whom women want to be kissed by. Jewelry brand Stylus by Golden Dew in honor of 6/14's Kiss Day [Yes, there is apparently a Kiss Day*] took a survey on their homepage asking "Which male celebrity would you want to be kissed by?"

The results came out as 34% wanting to receive a kiss from Kim Hyun Joong followed by a very close 32% wanting to be kissed by Lee Min Ho. This seems to show the lingering popularity of the F4 and the BOF effect. 3rd place was Song Seung Hun with 15%, then Jo In Sung (13%) in 4th place, and 5th place by Lee Seung Gi (6%)

In a recent interview, 2NE1 revealed their plans for the future, how they feel about their sunbae's Big Bang and why they have such a ~~ridiculous~~ interesting sense of style!

Even though lots of other girl groups tend to change up concepts and styles with each album, 2ne1 plans to stay true to one genre, claiming that they "will always be hip-hop" and "neutral"... whatever 'neutral' means. "We are very easy going," they elaborated, "and we don't act cute or pretend to be either. Our mini-album will be released in June and will have cute and sexy music added in there."

While 1TYM's Teddy produced 2NE1's successful hit "Fire", G-Dragon was a strong hand in the groups fashion concepts. G-dragon even lent some of his own accessories to Dara! Damn... they could not have asked a more unqualified person for fashion advice....

And how do they feel about their sunbae's Big Bang, the group they were modeled after? "We still have a long way to go.... We never thought of ourselves as a group that will surpass Big Bang, but we want to be like them and always keep developing."

Recently on Omona we found out that our very own custodian JiHoo Sunbae is the most kissable celebrity. Coincidentally he's also the most collapsible? Hmm, I wonder why. But sunbae wasn't the only one getting down. Thanks to Yunho Sshi's Siberian Husky Typhoon, we added new members to the Omona extended family. The dance version of Juliette came out and omona started learning the moves right away. Two Super Junior fan boys were spotted. Hey, Jaejoong loves fan boys too. se7en didnt have to hide anymore. NichKhun got felt up. BoA is off to the Gay Pride Fest in SF. while DBSK wants under our skin so bad they spell it out. Then the Wonder Girls taught us how to spell W-O-R-L-D too. So kind. Taeyang finally get's his solo album? Eunhyuk wrote some weird ass messages on his cyworld then deleted. All in all it was a productive week.

Singer Chae-yeon is proud to be called as a sexy singer, and for the time being, she will continue to be so. Despite the other popular females singers dominating the K-pop scene, the 30-year-old is up to the task to attract her own crowd.

Korea may have their fair share of sexy female singers, but it's hard to find someone who not only has her own style but sticks to it.

One of them is Chae-yeon, who recently released her new album in two years, "Shake," and the 30-year-old returned with a fresh, yet fitting concept of sexy.

"I worked on the album with (Kim Chang-wan) who I have been working with from my debut album. Electronic dance is a genre I was always comfortable with, so it's more of my style with a hint of the current trend," she told The Korea Times during an interview last week at a cafe in northern Seoul.

Rain, a renowned singer and actor, holds a T-shirt designed by him with Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon at an appointment ceremony at Seoul City Hall, Tuesday. Rain was appointed as the first global goodwill ambassador for the capital to better publicize the city overseas.

Renowned actor and singer Rain, also known as Jung Ji-hoon, was appointed the first global goodwill ambassador for Seoul City, Tuesday.

Rain was featured in "Hip Korea, Seoul Vibes," a documentary co-produced by Seoul City and Discovery Channel promoting the city and its pop culture. The 45-minute program aired in Asia and Australia earlier this year, showing the young and dynamic aspects of Seoul with Rain motorcycling through the Hongik University area, Cheongdam-dong and along Cheonggye Stream.

After shooting the documentary, Seoul City asked Jung to become its global goodwill ambassador, to better publicize the city as a part of its overseas promotion.

In a market dominated by K-pop idols hailing from music moguls like S.M. Entertainment, YG Family and JYP Entertainment, independent music holds onto a very small fraction of the industry.

Sequestered in the clubs of Hongdae, indie music earned a smidgen of limelight in its 90's infancy before fading into the background. Then, late last year, it experienced a renaissance of sorts.

A series of noteworthy artists, including the currently popular "Chang Kiha and the faces," shifted to the forefront.

Their sound, unique yet homegrown, hit airwaves across the nation. Dorked out or dressed down, wielding instruments instead of snap dance moves, indie acts reached out to a wider audience via television and radio.

Predictions of indie's move into the mainstream circuit proliferated. In the din of the press, artists continued to create and record independently, building off 10-plus years of indie history.

Wary of waning media attention yet hopeful of change, the indie music scene stands poised on the brink of a potential revival.

If things progress fast enough, Kim Joon together in the group T-Max will release a new album coming end-June. And in the album will be a solo song by him, as of the other T-Max members as well.

And especially for the MV of Kim Joon’s solo song, Kim Hyun Joong, who was part of the F4 group in drama Boys Over Flowers with Kim Joon, will be starring as the male lead to the it.

It has been 2 months since the drama Boys Over Flowers ended, but the F4 honor and loyalty continues in its members.

T-Max’s company said on 10th June, “T-Max will release a new album end-June to early July. And in the album, the members will have their solo songs. Kim Joon is the first member to finish his recording. Coming 12th, he will be shooting for the MV in a set in GyeongGiDo. And Kim Hyun Joong will be the male lead to the MV.”

Jung Hyung Don and his Girlfriend will get married, they have met both parents already and have set a date sometime in September.

It has been revealed that Jung Hyung Don and his 4 years younger Broadcast Writer Girlfriend, currently involved in the writing for the MBC show "Sleeping Over" will get married in September

A person close to the couple has revealed that "That have had a meeting with both families on the 9th and have agreed to a marriage in September" while talks about marriage were ongoing through out the month of May

The couple had met on a program as MC and Write and then became involved seriously last October. Jung Hyung Don, especially, revealed in April that she was his "perfect match"

In regards to this, a colleague has revealed "While most couples clash occasionally during their time, the pair never had any sort of clash at all", "The term of a perfect match seems to be made for this couple"

During the taping, Tablo and Dave shared stories of the rapper’s childhood love with a little German girl next door, part-time jobs, school and life growing up as a minority. The 34th and 35th CyWorld Digital Music Awards (DMA) took place on 10th June in Seoul.

And newcomer 2NE1 is one of the big winners of the night.

Kim So Eun shows off her skinny arms and Sanggu the chinhuahua at the press conference

After watching her in a supporting role as Gaeul in Boys Before Flowers, i know many are anxiously waiting to see Kim So-eun in another drama. Fans of the young lass (she just enrolled into university, but is currently on a study break due to filming this drama) won't have to wait long as her new drama will be aired on KBS World soon!

The new KBS2 television drama The Man Who Can't Get Married, staring Ji Jin-hee, Uhm Jung-hwa, Yang Jung-an and Kim So-eun held a press conference at 2pm, June 9th at Seoul's Imperial Palace Hotel.

The drama is a romantic comedy based on the popular Japanese drama Kekkon Dekinai Otoko which aired in 2006. The Man Who Can't Get Married will start airing on June 15, after The Slingshot (Story of a Man) ends its run (in South Korea that is).
