Kim Hyun Joong Pre-Releases Song "His Habit" Feat. Lim Kim and Kanto of Troy

Solo star Kim Hyun Joong unveiled a new song called “His Habit” on July 4. The new track precedes the release of the singer’s new mini album on July 11, entitled, “Timing.”

The new track is penned by Mister Rocks. It features guest appearances from singer Lim Kim (also known as Kim Yerim) and rapper Kanto.

A spokesperson for Kim Hyun Joong told the media, “The attractive singing and rapping of Lim Kim and Kanto makes for a very emotional sound. It is a very unique mix of musical talent, so fans have every reason to anticipate the new release.”

“Timing” will be Kim Hyun Joong’s fourth mini album, and comes a year since his last extended play, “Round 3.”

Your weekly dose of murder mystery role playing game is back again with JTBC's Crime Scene (크라임씬).

In this show the exceptional cast is brought to a crime scene and they take roles as suspects and use their investigative and deductive skills in various ways (observing the crime scene, group talks, hot seat, one-on-one interrogations) to catch the criminal amongst themselves.
After their investigations, the cast vote for who they suspect is the killer. If the majority of the cast is right, they get the gold prizes but if they're wrong and the killer got away with the crime, the murderer will collect all the gold.

This week we welcome the show's first female guest: Sistar's Soyu, who arrives full of confidense (like the guests always do, with not very flattering results as we all know..).

The world of East Asian cinema has been rocked by the news that Chinese actress Tang Wei is set to marry Korean director Kim Tae Yong later this year. The couple is expected to settle in Korea, after details emerged that they have purchased land in the city of Bundang, near Seoul.

The two met on the set of the movie “Late Autumn,” directed by Kim Tae Yong and starring Tang Wei. The actress won fame for her role in the 2009 film, “Lust, Caution.” Rumors had circulated ever since regarding the pair’s possible romantic involvement, although both parties had denied the claim.

The wedding is set to take place in Korea before the release of Tang Wei’s upcoming movie, “The Golden Era,” which will begin screening in China in October this year. The couple plans to finalize their wedding before the actress begins promotion for the new movie.

Tang Wei is well-known in Korea, where she has previously hosted the opening ceremony of the prestigious Busan International Film Festival, and speculation is rife that moving to her husband’s country may mean that she could appear in Korean movies in the future.

A spokesperson from her agency told the media, “If Tang Wei gets a good offer to star in a Korean film, she will certainly consider taking it.”

On July 2, T-ara’s Soyeon left a message on her personal Twitter account, speaking out against plastic surgery rumors.

These rumors seem to have come about when people began to point out that there is a drastic difference in the T-ara member’s appearance recently, after seeing the selcas that were posted on her Instagram account. Unlike her past cute image, she showed off a more mature beauty, drawing people’s attention.

In the explanation, Soyeon wrote, “It appears that many people have a misunderstanding due to one picture I pulled out of the fifty that I take. July 3’s broadcast of MBC’s Star Gazing featured SHINee’s Key, Lim Ho and Song Eun Yi as the panel and Fly to the Sky, trot singer Park Hyun Bin and Jung Joon Young as guests.

About the rumors saying that Fly to the Sky’s two members are dating each other, Key commented, “I heard that rumor too. I heard there were some misunderstandings about the relationship between you two,” and Hwanhee said, “There were so many rumors saying that ‘the two members kissed,’ or that ‘they are in love with each other.’ There was a rumor claiming that we kissed in a car but that’s not true.”

SHINee fans and radio fans are in for a treat as SHINee′s Jonghyun will be unveiling his self-written songs on radio.

The songs will be introduced on MBC FM4U′s Blue Night. It is the product of a section in the show called Blue Night Music and Lyrics.

The section involves Jonghyun collecting the stories his listeners send to his radio and making them into a song.

"I wondered how I could repay the overflowing love I′ve been receiving from my listeners since I started hosting the radio show. I prepared this project to move closer to my listeners and also emphasize Blue Night′s status as a music program," Jonghyun said about the project.

The project started on June 12, and the songs will be introduced for a week from July 7.

EXO members Suho and D.O will be the ones to introduce the songs.

According to a representative of the music industry on July 4, singer IU participated in featuring for a song on g.o.d’s upcoming eighth album to be released on July 8.

It has been reported that IU developed a desire to be a singer after being a fan of g.o.d since her early childhood, and was extremely happy when the group she looked up to reunited and proposed an opportunity to feature in their new album.

The rep also hinted, “IU is known to have developed her dream of becoming a singer as she attended g.o.d’s concerts during her school days. When g.o.d decided to have a reunion, [IU’s] senior, Kim Tae Woo, gave her a featuring offer, which she happily accepted.”

g.o.d, the ’nation’s group’ that dominated the music industry in the early 2000s, recently started up group activities again and achieved an all-kill on music charts with their new songs including “The Lone Duckling” and “Sky Blue Promise.”

EXO’s Fan Letters Mistakenly Mailed to Gangnam Police Station

According to police officers on July 3, there have been around 8-9 containers worth of EXO fan letters that were mistakenly delivered to Gangnam Police Station, starting at the end of last year until now. A majority of these fan letters were sent from the province areas, including Incheon and Daejeon.

A lot of the fan letters were addressed to members Baekhyun and Chanyeol, and some of the fans have repeatedly mailed letters to the wrong address three or four times.

On the outside of the letters, fans wrote messages such as “I’m an EXO fan but not a sasaeng fan,” and “Please read this.”

A police official said, “We have been returning most of the letters. Fortunately, they are simple letters and not packages, so it does not interfere with our work.”

It appears that this situation arose due to an apparent joke played by a netizen. On one of Korea’s major portal sites, there is a question asking for a way to send fan letters to EXO, and in response, someone posted an answer that states the address of the Gangnam Police Station instead of the SM Entertainment building.

The police official also expressed, “We have not thoroughly looked into it, but if someone purposely spread the wrong address, it could be hurtful to young student [fans], so it needs to be stopped.”

Interview w/Sam Okyere~!

Ghana’s Sam Okyere is making a name for himself in South Korea’s entertainment world. Based in Seoul and fluent in Korean, Okyere can be seen these days rubbing shoulders with some of K Pop’s most famous stars. He already has a pretty extensive resume of Korean TV shows under his belt, including SNL Korea and Master Chef Korea Season 3. Okayafrica contributor Jacob Roberts-Mensah caught up with Okyere to talk about his experience being an African in Korea, his current work and his plans for the future. Good interview! It's nice to see other races doing well in the entertainment industry in Korea and it looks like he's enjoying himself. :)
