Crime Scene ep 8 with Soyu: a housewife's murder

Your weekly dose of murder mystery role playing game is back again with JTBC's Crime Scene (크라임씬).

In this show the exceptional cast is brought to a crime scene and they take roles as suspects and use their investigative and deductive skills in various ways (observing the crime scene, group talks, hot seat, one-on-one interrogations) to catch the criminal amongst themselves.
After their investigations, the cast vote for who they suspect is the killer. If the majority of the cast is right, they get the gold prizes but if they're wrong and the killer got away with the crime, the murderer will collect all the gold.

This week we welcome the show's first female guest: Sistar's Soyu, who arrives full of confidense (like the guests always do, with not very flattering results as we all know..).
Also the return of the resident deduction idiot(s) and geniuses we all love. Highlight: Hyun-Moo in a dress (*^0^*)

Today's mystery is the murder of a succesful hospital director's wife who is killed in her own living room.
Just who committed the crime?

I got this one right and even had a great discussion about it on weibo last weekend.

Crime Scene has been doing well in ratings and even critics have praised the show during the last weeks.
Hopefully this translates to many many many episodes because in my opinion CS is one of the very best K-shows airing at the moment.

(It has also been really good for me to gain back my Korean skills that were steadily downgrading during the last few years~~ )

Maybe the cast is too good now or I'm getting better at this, but the criminal was a bit obvious 2/3 of the way through. My intuition was the husband from the beginning but I didn't count on it since my intuition is almost never right. >.<

I think the cast is too good now that whoever is the criminal will have a hard time, and one indication if the criminal is Hong Jinho or Ji Yoon is when they differ in opinion because those two usually get them right.
The casts are entertaining as always and Jung Hyun-moo always bring the laughs.
I kinda see NS Yoon-ji enjoyed flirting with Jinho today and she like it. Not gonna blame her though cuz he look damn good in that white coat.

Yeah, the same with me. If Jinho and Jiyoon didn't work together, one had to be the criminal. Also Jinho couldn't answer all the accusations.

The banter and anecdote between the casts were good too. After Hyunmoo-Yoonji a few episode back, I like this episode 'Jinho abandoning Lady Jane' and 'different program different girl'.

Aw man, I got it wrong. I thought it would be too obvious if it were the husband so I went with Jiyoon at first and leaned towards Soyou at the end. Looking forward to the next episode, the cast and Key were clearly flabbergasted in the teaser.

As a result of this show, I've come to like NS Yoon Ji, she's really adorable. Jinho is forever flawless no matter the program. (Wow he has so many girls now ~) Hyun Moo was especially hilarious this episode ahhhahah. I haven't really seen Soyou on variety before but she was funny to watch - jumping at all the sudden noises, getting flustered with the camera, and eating the gum lol. (I've liked every idol appearance on this show ...)

I hope Crime Scene gets another season - though maybe they can improve the casting a bit? I'm not really a fan of either of the lawyers they've had.

Hmm, you're right. I was okay with Bang-geul but that's mainly because she didn't detract from the show, but she wasn't amazing either. Kind of bland, I guess? :p

If last weeks's case was really difficult, this one was too easy for me. They should have made the suspects have more suspicious backgrounds/motives. The Delivery Guy character was kind of just a filler suspect.

Jinho was too obvious when he couldn't answer stuff, and when he shifted the voting from Beauty Park to Housemaid Yoon randomly, I thought it was him for sure and he was just trying to pin the blame on whoever. So sad Jinho doesn't have a perfect track record as criminal and detective. He looked really good in a white coat, though. LOL.

Cast banter was a joy to watch as usual. YoonJinho were so cute! <3 Even Lawyer Kang didn't annoy me as much as he did last week. Still wishing they picked a different person though.

Is the show only on for 10 episode? I hope there were will be more seasons to come. I don't really follow K-variety shows but I love this one a lot.

Tbh I think they could have made this episode a little more tricky; the part about the housemaid possibly having access to the medicine and information through the husband could have been expanded on, I think. The friend could have a possible murder weapon (if she'd served the soup instead of the housemaid), and they could have slipped in a couple of red herrings during the time the housemaid was out shopping and couldn't keep an eye on the mother-in-law. Also, the delivery guy was kind of a no-brainer, since there wasn't even anything to suspect him for. (Though I kind of am grateful for that, since Kang mostly faded into the background until he discovered the pills.)

The only upside to this, though, was that since the previous episodes of Crime Scene were so tricky, I almost suspected the housemaid because I thought the husband was too obvious. :P

I really hope this show will have a second (and possibly third) season! I barely follow K-variety shows but this one's got me hooked. ♡

After watching last week's episode, I marathoned Genius season 1 + 2 and I am so in love with Hong Jinho, it's not even funny anymore. He's such a pint-sized little bean that struggles to talk properly, just want to put this Kong into my pocket.
I'm a bit bummed out that his record isn't flawless anymore now but this case was a bit too obvious. I got it right for the third time now :"D I also think the cast are finding out how to make proper deductions now.

I really hope this show will get a season 2 because it's one of my fave variety shows now and I need more Hong Jinho in my life D:
Also, Hyunmoo crossdressing and slapping the shit out of Jinho cracked me up.
