Are we finally done with the JYJ/SM fight?

Like most Kpop fans know, for a while now, JYJ has not been able to promote freely in Korea due to their past issues with SM Entertainment. Broadcast stations and music distributors never offered a complete explanation as to why this is the case, but fans suspected all along that SM Entertainment was applying backdoor pressure.

The Fair Trade Commission or the FTC has been looking into the issue and has finally confirmed that the parties responsible for JYJ's lack of broadcast activities are SM Entertainment and 'Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Art Industry (KFPCAI)'.

Having confirmed the two's role in blocking JYJ's activities, the FTC issued a sanction today (July 24th KST) ordering SM Entertainment as well as KFPCAI to stop interfering with the group's activities.

Big Bang's 'ALIVE GALAXY WORLD TOUR' soon to be a dry cow ?

Big Bang's 'ALIVE GALAXY WORLD TOUR' will be screened in theaters across Asia this August!

YG Entertainment stated, "Big Bang's performances of their hit songs and fluid powerful performances, stage effects, and the energetic response of the global audience during the concert can soon be relived on screen."

"Fans will get to see the highlights of [Big Bang's] world tour, which took the world by storm and lasted for 328 days and 7200 hours. We think this will be a big present to the global fans who will get to see clips of Big Bang's passionate stages nonstop."

VIPs will get to relive the tour in select theaters in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan for now this August, but there are plans for more screenings in other countries as well.

SBS launches a new battle program for singers, CL is expected to participate in recording

SBS will be launching an entertainment program where singers battle similar to MBC’s ‘I am a Singer’ & KBS’s ‘Immortal Song’.

SBS officials revealed on the 24th that “the pilot of ‘Super Match’ is expected to air next month."

He reveals, “The first recording will be held tomorrow. Although it’s only a pilot episode, we are expecting to schedule regular broadcasts of the show in the future."

‘Super Match’ is known to be similar in format to ‘Immortal Song’ where a winner is picked each episode and will not be like ‘I am a Singer’ where contestants are eliminated each round. It will also be recorded and not be a live broadcast program.

It is reported that ‘Super Match’ will feature a total of 10 teams of both senior and junior singers, who will choose their own songs and will compete through their performance of that song. Currently, it is known that Yang Hee Eun, YB, Lee Seung Hwan, Dynamic Duo, Clazziquai, 2NE1’s CL etc will be participating in the recording.

The recording on the coming 25th will be held at the SBS Prism Centre and if all goes as planned, it is expected that the first broadcast will occur sometime mid-August.

All eyes are on SBS’ ‘Super Match’ to see how it will set itself apart from existing singer battle programs, MBC’s ‘I am a Singer’ & KBS’s ‘Immortal Song’.

Rain revealed to have become a celebrity recruit even without the necessary paperwork

After the Ministry of Defense made the decision to abolish the celebrity recruit system and Rain's discharge, it's now been revealed that Rain was accepted as a celebrity recruit even though he hadn't submitted the necessary forms.

According to the results that the Ministry of Defense provided, 10 celebrity recruits, including Rain, had not submitted the necessary documents, but had been accepted to the program anyway. To be a celebrity recruit, actors need to have had lead roles in a movie or a drama. Comedians need to have been on the main popular comedy shows, and singers need to provide their album sales data as well as appearances on music shows.

They also are required to submit a confirmation and a letter recommendation from one of their required sources within 3 months of their enlistment. However, these 10 soldiers never submitted these documents, and had been accepted anyway.

Chairperson Kim Kwang Jin of the Democratic Party under the National Defense Committee said, "Looking in detail of the inspection from the Ministry of Defense showed that there were bigger problems than those initially announced. This problem shouldn't be solved by punishing the celebrity recruits or the employees, but by making the director of the Defense Media Agency and the administration of the Ministry of Defense take responsibility".

Sad news is currently ruling the headlines, after famed (legendary, perhaps) drama producer and director Kim Jong-hak was discovered dead in a gositel (a sort of extended stay motel), having taken his own life. He died in the morning of July 23.

Kim Jong-hak was a major figure in the Korean entertainment industry, and his credits include dramas that weren’t just popular, but seminal. He helped shaped the television landscape into what it is today, notably with his 1990s dramas Eyes of Dawn and Sandglass, and Daemang in 2002. His more recent dramas include 2007′s Legend and last year’s Faith.

m4m 100 days documentary

Lee Joon doesn't think it's right that male body exposure is celebrated while female body exposure is looked down upon.

On the 24th's episode of MBC's 'Radio Star', the panel and the guests started to talk about Clara's revealing outfits. During the conversation, Lee Joon pointed out, "I get sad because I think people are really hard to female celebrities. When male celebrities take their shirts off, people say, 'Oh, they're so cool', but when female celebrities do it, people say, 'she looks so cheap'."

When Clara added, "He's right. People say, she's just trying to get attention", Lee Joon agreed and said, "To be honest, I took my shirt off to get attention, too. I admit that I did that. But I think telling that to women is just rude."
