SBS will be launching an entertainment program where singers battle similar to MBC’s ‘I am a Singer’ & KBS’s ‘Immortal Song’.
SBS officials revealed on the 24th that “
the pilot of ‘Super Match’ is expected to air next month."
He reveals, “
The first recording will be held tomorrow. Although it’s only a pilot episode, we are expecting to schedule regular broadcasts of the show in the future."
‘Super Match’ is known to be similar in format to ‘Immortal Song’ where a winner is picked each episode and will not be like ‘I am a Singer’ where contestants are eliminated each round. It will also be recorded and not be a live broadcast program.
It is reported that ‘Super Match’ will feature a total of 10 teams of both senior and junior singers, who will choose their own songs and will compete through their performance of that song. Currently, it is known that
Yang Hee Eun, YB, Lee Seung Hwan, Dynamic Duo, Clazziquai, 2NE1’s CL etc will be participating in the recording.
The recording on the coming 25th will be held at the SBS Prism Centre and if all goes as planned, it is expected that the first broadcast will occur sometime mid-August.
All eyes are on SBS’ ‘Super Match’ to see how it will set itself apart from existing singer battle programs, MBC’s ‘I am a Singer’ & KBS’s ‘Immortal Song’.
