Rain revealed to have become a celebrity recruit even without the necessary paperwork

After the Ministry of Defense made the decision to abolish the celebrity recruit system and Rain's discharge, it's now been revealed that Rain was accepted as a celebrity recruit even though he hadn't submitted the necessary forms.

According to the results that the Ministry of Defense provided, 10 celebrity recruits, including Rain, had not submitted the necessary documents, but had been accepted to the program anyway. To be a celebrity recruit, actors need to have had lead roles in a movie or a drama. Comedians need to have been on the main popular comedy shows, and singers need to provide their album sales data as well as appearances on music shows.

They also are required to submit a confirmation and a letter recommendation from one of their required sources within 3 months of their enlistment. However, these 10 soldiers never submitted these documents, and had been accepted anyway.

Chairperson Kim Kwang Jin of the Democratic Party under the National Defense Committee said, "Looking in detail of the inspection from the Ministry of Defense showed that there were bigger problems than those initially announced. This problem shouldn't be solved by punishing the celebrity recruits or the employees, but by making the director of the Defense Media Agency and the administration of the Ministry of Defense take responsibility".

part of the blame should be on the celeb recruits. they should never have used privilege and entitlement allow them to skip dotting the "i" and crossing the "t"....

MOST of the blame should be on the military mucky mucks who overlooked this and allowed a lot of the issues with celeb soldiers pass.

I'm going to spend my 2 years here. I'm a private and I'm right out of basic and I'm going to tell an office full of higher ranking soldiers/officers what I'M GOING TO DO.

So there is no paperwork but there are plane tickets and meal tickets and hotel stays processed all the fucking two years as he went all over with the unit singing and dancing. :/ Got it, heads should roll no doubt. Those heads belong to the fucking chain of command that are all fucking fanboys and did whatever they wanted and now the celebs are to blame and everyone sits with their fucking tails between their legs and are letting them take the blamed.

I don't think Rain is a total douche because he didn't provide the required documents. The celebrity division probably did not care if he had them or not since he was such a huge star. Its called favoritism. I agree that the head people in charge should take full responsibility because this would not happen if they were ultimately doing their jobs. People only do what you allow them to.

JFC Rain. It's ridiculous how his military service has been handled by himself and the military. Yes, the military fucked up with their shitty system but Rain and the other celeb recruits could've easily refused to be part of it.

Won Bin chose to station himself near the DMZ. Hyun Bin went to the marines. Yoo Seungho chose to go super sneaky into the military with no fanfare whatsoever. Many other celebs did the normal thing. Being a celebrity isn't an excuse to live it up in the 2 years they grew up knowing they'll serve.

Isn't this an administration issue? Did he really need paperwork to prove he was a celebrity and able to join that unit? I grasp how important serving honorably is in SK but this witchhunting is too much. I'm going to watch a performance of hip song for the millionth time and pretend it's 2010 for three minutes.
