YG Entertainment’s financial report reveals some of the upcoming plans for 2013

Through a financial report, some of the details of the agency’s upcoming plans were revealed to insiders in finances.

One financial analyst gave a bit away as he commented, “A new girl group’s debut will take place in the first half of next year at YG, and Big Bang is expected to have a comeback in the fall. As this will be the agency’s first girl group in four years, it is significant… Compared to 2013, the agency expects to record a 30-40% growth in sales, and operating profits are also expected to jump 2-3% in points.”

Joo Won is the ‘Wink King’ in ‘7th Grade Civil Servant’

It’s not just guns Joo Won will be firing off in his new drama, but winks as well.

MBC revealed new still cuts from the upcoming 7th Grade Civil Servant drama featuring lead actor, Joo Won.

Wearing a big pair of headphones over his head and casually dressed, Joo Won’s Gil Ro is seen in high spirits and strutting down the street as he fires off winks at a few girls.

The pictures reflect Joo Won’s character, who aspires to be like James Bond but also lives by the motto, ‘live life in a fun manner’.

The scenes were filmed in the Dongdaemun area of Seoul. Despite the frigid temperatures on the day of shooting, Joo Won cheerfully shot, and re-shot, his scene with the extras and finally successfully shooting the scene after a couple tries.

The drama’s production added, “The actors are being met with encouraging fans when they shoot in public which is acting as a big source of strength for us. The passion in this dr,ama is hot enough to melt away the cold temperatures and we will present to you a high-quality drama.”

Lee Hyori And Uhm Jung Hwa Make A Bet For Presidential Elections

Uhm Jung Hwa and Lee Hyori recently made a bet to stir interest for the upcoming Korean Presidential Elections to be held on December 19.

On December 12, Uhm Jung Hwa tweeted, “I’m going to be voting from Seoul! Vote. Vote! Vote. Vote!” to which Hyori responded in a tweet mention with, “Unni, can I expect to see a photo of you voting in a fashionable outfit?” Netizens began to comment on both tweets, wanting to see the stars voting in their best outfits while casting their votes.

Uhm Jung Hwa gladly accepted the challenge and tweeted to Lee Hyori, “Let’s see who’s the sexiest. Let’s make a bet. Who’s the sexiest. Who isn’t as sexy!” And the two ultimately decided to go ahead and have a battle of who the sexiest voter would be, by taking proof shots on election day. Lee Hyori replied, “Sound good~loser has to hand over 10,000 Won,” which drew great interest from fans.

Netizens who saw the exchange commented, “Looks like while they’re on their way to cast their vote, it might just turn into a runway fashion show!” “They’re amazing for turning a voting opportunity into a fashion battle,” and “I look forward to seeing photos of you two voting in your most fashionable outfits!”

Perfect Princess, IU, To Make A Comeback Spring 2013

After releasing her single “Spring Of A Twenty Year Old,” which she never promoted or did activities for this past May, IU will be making her official comeback sometime in March or April of 2013. It’s been revealed that the flourishing artist plans to participate in promotional activities for this album. The last time IU released a full-length album was November of last year with her second album “Last Fantasy.”

IU’s agency stated that in preparation for her comeback next year, they will be making their focal point the concept of “coming-of-age.” Next year will mark her fourth year since her debut with hit tracks in her career such as “Good Day” and “You and I” lighting her path to fame. She promises to show the same characteristic energy and spirit but show something more mature in her lyrics and music. Even though IU has had many offers to participate in dramas, she is solely focusing on her next album her agency stated.

Epik High’s DJ Tukutz Is A Father

DJ TuKutz of three member artist group Epik High is an expectant father at the age of 31.

On December 14, Epik High’s agent told “Star News” that DJ Tukutz’s wife had successfully delivered a healthy baby boy. This will be the happy couple’s first child, and it’s been three years and two months since they tied the knot. DJ Tukutz was married to his first love on October 13, 2009 and shortly after was drafted into the military. The happy family is now reunited with DJ Tukutz available to celebrate the birth of his son after being discharged from military service this past August.

Ever since DJ Tukutz moved under the label of YG Entertainment in October, he has joined Mithra Jin and Tablo in preparing for Epik High’s new album.

SISTAR’s Bora Says Song Joong Ki Has Been, and Still Is, Her Ideal Type

Though a member of one of K-Pop’s hottest girl groups right now, SISTAR’s Bora says her eyes have been, and still are, on Song Joong Ki and Song Joong Ki only.

Bora recently appeared for a recording of jTBC’s Lee Su Geun and Kim Byung Man’s High Society as a guest with Soyou, Song Eun I and Kim Sook where the female guests talked about which male celebrity they would like to film a kiss scene in a music video.

Bora opened up by first discussing how jealous she was of fellow SISTAR member Dasom for having recently had the chance to film a kiss scene with actor Ahn Jae Hyun for K.Will’s Please Don’t music video.

Bora then gushed over her crush Song Joong Ki saying, “After debuting and even till now, my ideal type has been Song Joong Ki”, and went on to select the actor as the male star she most wanted to film a kiss scene with.

When Kim Sook chimed in that she wanted to film a kiss scene with Song Joong Ki as well, Bora loudly protested causing the rest of the guests to erupt into laughter.

Looking at the buffet table of 2012, I’m left in awe at the vast array of possible selections before me. The sheer number of choices is growing every year and I feel like I have to taste-test the premiere and make a quick decision of whether to keep digging in or move on. Sometimes you don’t just know for sure until you’re left with the aftertaste.

And because some dramas that fall within the same genre can have unique flavors, I’m using a Taste O’Meter to assess this year’s dramas. Was it sweet, sour, bitter, salty, or savory? Maybe more than one?

Like any “Thanks to…” in a good Kpop album: My unending thanks to javabeans and girlfriday for the opportunity to let me write about what I love; to HeadsNo2 for the squee-fests and love of makgulli; to kaedejun for the laughs, hugs, and love of Oppa; and last but not least, to YOU GUYS for being awesome readers. Secret’s Zinger Released From Hospital

Zinger who was in a car crash with the rest of the members from the girl group Secret was released from the hospital today.

On December 15 her agency TS Entertainment announced that she was released from the hospital after receiving care for the rib injuries she sustained in the car crash.

A representative from the agency told Star News, “Zinger’s condition is improving…Because she is not completely cured she will rest at her parent’s place this weekend. Starting next week Zinger will return to Seoul to start her physical therapy sessions in a specialized hospital.

The car crash happened at 2am on December 11. Secret’s manager had been driving when the car slipped on ice as they were making a turn and crashed into a guard rail. Zinger was the one most seriously hurt with broken ribs and bruised lungs. She was ordered to rest for three to four weeks.

The agency representative also said, “There is no specific cure for broken ribs except to limit movement…To put her health and safety first, we will postpone all her activities and announce her future schedule after watching her progress.”

The other members suffered minor bruises and are spending time recovering. Secret has cancelled all promotional activities until December 27. They might come back on December 28 at the KBS Gayo Awards.

I have new found respect for people who make megaposts. I'm praying to the Omonian gods I did all the ljcuts right!! Why don't they show in the preview?! Anyway, looking forward to this drama a lot.
