Donghae and Halbae are Kicking Ass and Taking Names for GQ Korea

Recently, Super Junior's Donghae and Park Keun Hyung, who were costars in the completed Channel A drama series, Panda and Hedgehog, participated in a photoshoot for GQ Korea. The 27 year old Donghae and the 72 year old Park Keun Hyung were somewhat alike yet different. In the interview with GQ Korea, Donghae called Park "Halbae (Grandfather)," just as his character calls him in the drama.

At the first read-through for the drama, Donghae surprised all the other actors by asking Park to teach him how to act, saying he didn't understand his character at all.

Impressed by Donghae's passion for acting, Park gave him some advice.

Despite their age gap, they showed off their friendship and distinctive personalities in the pictorial.

Throughout the photoshoot, there was silence in Park's eyes and passion in Donghae's eyes. Donghae said he was nervous to do a photo shoot with the Al Pacino of Korea, showing his respect to Park.

The pictorial of Donghae and Park can be seen in the November issue of GQ Korea.

OP comment: I love the amount of photoshoots Donghae has been appearing in this year. I'm liking the mafia/mobster-esque quality to this shoot and how Donghae's channeling some serious James Dean. Also, he and Halbae Park seriously need to be in another drama together. They are too cute together.

The talented singer discovered through ‘K-Pop Star‘, Lee Hi, is here to tease fans with a new photo showing off her complete transformation.

The new photo of the singer was just released through the YG-Life blog and has her followers doing a double take at her new image.

YG Entertainment has informed us that the singer’s debut single is titled “1,2,3,4“, and that it will be released as planned on October 29th.

B1A4 & Hwayobi to join "Immortal Song" as fixed members

Idol group B1A4 (Jinyoung, Baro, Sandeul, CNU, Gongchan) and singer Hwayobi will be making their debut as fixed  members on KBS 2TV "Immortal Song - Singing the Legend".

On 25th morning, a staff of KBS revealed to Star News that, "Sandeul, Baro and CNU of B1A4 and Hwayobi will be joining as fixed members of "Immortal Song", starting from their recording on the 29th." He continued, "Even Hwayobi showed surpassing performance on 22nd of last month" and said "During her recording on the 22nd, she was not a fixed member but she will be joining as fixed member on the coming 29th recording."

The staff said,"Besides B1A4 and Hwayobi the current fixed members of "Immortal Song" are Jung Dongha and Sweet Sorrow." He also added, "Other singers are scheduled to appear as guests. I don't think there would be any changes other than the selected fixed members of the show. To present stages with completeness, we make careful decision when casting fixed members".

The staff revealed, "During the recording of B1A4 and Hwayobi's debute stage on "Immortal Song" as fixed members, Ha Chun Hwa will be appearing as the legend." "Ha Chun Ha is an artist who encompass all generation. Since she is an artist who flawlessly performs traditional, folk songs and many other genres, we are anticipating to see spectacle and splendid stage of other singers."

Meanwhile, during the recording of "Immortal Song" on 29th,  B1A4, Hwayobi, Jung Donghwa (Boohwal) and Sweet Sorrow will appear as fixed members.

Kim Soo Hyun’s Manager Charged with Sexual Assault

News agencies report that Kim Soo Hyun’s (“The Moon That Embraces The Sun,” “Dream High“) manager, Mr. Lee, is charged with sexual assault.

Kim Soo Hyun’s manager has been charged with six counts of sexual assault. He is reported to have followed around women who were going back to their homes and sexually assaulting them. He is also said to have sexually assaulted women in elevators. It is reported that Mr. Lee targeted women in their 20s-30s late at night.  Mr. Lee is known to be the manager of famous stars other than Kim Soo Hyun in Key East Entertainment as well.

Footage of Big Bang‘s T.O.P getting caught off-guard by a fan’s special gift at a ‘Alive GALAXY Tour 2012‘ concert has been causing talk online.

The video, which was shot on the 24th in the Philippines, shows T.O.P dancing to the beat on stage and getting close to the crowd to greet his fans. One fan threw out what T.O.P seemed to have assumed was a normal gift of the non-underwear variety.

T.O.P seemed taken aback by the situation, but immediately turned around as if nothing had happened. Big Bang’s backdancers who saw the fan’s “gift” on the floor began to laugh.

Netizens commented, “I’m not sure why you would throw undergarments”, “It’s a good thing he didn’t catch it”, “It looks like the backdancers were more shocked than he was”, and “Did the fan have nothing else to give?”.

The pop group is just one of four international bands taking part in the unifying music collaboration.

South Korean pop group the Wonder Girls were one of four bands picked internationally to take part in MTV Iggy's "Cover the World" project

Hot on the heels of viral sensation Psy's "Gangnam Style," fellow South Korean export the Wonder Girls are proving that their music's global reach is here to stay.

The five-member girl group, which previously toured with the Jonas Brothers back in 2009, kept things mellow in a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors," released earlier this week.

"We wanted to make it more rhythmical with a drum, and we also wanted to give it some more energy so that we would put out a new sound," group member Yeeun told the Daily News of their rendition.

Korean rap sensation Psy is now making as much as acts with more than 15 minutes of fame, to perform in Las Vegas. We hear the “Gangnam Style” star is earning about $60,000 per gig to sing and do his trademark dance at Vegas hot spots. That puts his take on par with those of Sin City regulars Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, who is said to take home about $100,000 per job, and LMFAO’s Redfoo, who sources say earns about $75,000 per “Party Rock” performance. Psy just shook his groove thang at iHeartRadio Music Festival and at Tao Las Vegas. On Oct. 21.

S. Korea ranks 108th in gender equality: WEF report

South Korea ranked among the lowest group in the world in gender equality, a report showed Wednesday, indicating that it needs to step up efforts to bolster women's economic participation and their access to education.

According to the report by the World Economic Forum (WEF), South Korea came in at 108th out of 135 countries it surveyed in terms of gender equality this year. The ranking was one notch lower than the previous year and it was also similar to countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Nigeria and Bahrain.

The report analyzed the gender equality situations of each country based on 14 indices reflecting access to opportunities, life expectancy, and the number of female cabinet members in their governments. The WEF has released such rankings every year since 2006.

South Korea lagged far behind other courtiers, in particular, in terms of women's access to economic participation and education level. It ranked 116th and 99th in each area, the report showed.

In terms of the index on health and life, Korea came in 78th, and also ranked 86th in terms of gender equality in politics.

Meanwhile, Iceland topped the list, followed by Finland and Norway in terms of gender equality. In the Asia-Pacific region, New Zealand led the pack by ranking sixth, trailed by the Philippines in eighth, Australia in 25th, Sri Lanka in 39th and Mongolia in 44th, the report showed. (Yonhap News)

Rookie girl group GLAM has lent their voices for the weekend drama ‘Five Fingers‘!

The ballad, titled “The Person I Miss“, brings forth a new image for the girl group, who had previously shown off an energetic and fun concept with their debut track “Party XXO“.

Their newest release describes the emotion of being in love but not being able to express it, and the lyrics are conveyed to the listeners through the sorrowful melody and vocals of the GLAM members.
