ZE:A‘s Kwanghee and MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon attended a recording for ‘Go Hyun Jung’s GO SHOW‘.

Kwanghee recently shared the photo above via Twitter and wrote, “Look forward to Joonie and I’s appearance on the ‘GO SHOW’ keke. We look so handsome keke.

Both idols looked rather mature dressed up in formal wear, displaying an image that’s different from their flashy stage personas. The two were invited to the ‘GO SHOW’ as rivals, as they’re both well-known for their success on variety shows.

In related news, the first female guests to appear on the ‘GO SHOW’ are reported to be Ahn Mi Sook, Kim Wan Sun, and Park He Mi.

It's really heart breaking, you can tell BoA has been through SO MUCH especially when she went to Japan on her own.
Honestly, back in the day when BoA first debuted in Japan I felt like she had the best most perfect life and I basically wanted to be BoA lol!

Super Junior‘s Choi Siwon asked his fans for a small favor.

Back in January, Siwon revealed that his Twitter account had been hacked. He wrote, “Someone hacked my account. I know who did it, but I will not say who. I just hope this person will not do it again. Please.”

After reading a recent tweet of his, fans are speculating that it may have happened again. On May 8th, the singer wrote via his official Twitter page, ”Truly loving someone is understanding & caring for them, not invading their privacy, stalking them or spreading baseless rumors about them… please respect my privacy and please stop hacking me.

His fellow group member Leeteuk who could relate then wrote on his own Twitter page, “Please don’t hack me either!!!! T_T

Fans seemed to be empathetic and respectful of the boys’ personal space. They responded by saying, “Choi Siwon is right. Love isn’t about stalking or invading their privacy”, “Sasaeng fans are now hacking Twitter too?”, and “Worried about them.”

Singer BoA will appear on KBS’s talk show Win Win for a solo appearance and many people are wondering what she will talk about.

BoA will record the show on May 24 or 31. Since she has never appeared on a talk show by herself, her appearance on a talk show is drawing a lot of attention.

She will talk about how she became a successful singer after she debuted at the age of 13 years old. She will also talk about the behind the scene story when she worked in Japan and the United States.

She is planning to show her honesty, which she impressed the audience with by appearing on SBS’s K-pop Star and talk about her ordinary life.

Since she is well known as a star who has lots of friends, people are wondering which star will appear on the show as a secret guest.

Judging from the photo, it looked as though the two were filming for the cooking show, ‘Kangta’s Pasta e Basta‘. It looked as if Kangta was explaining something to Victoria, who smiled as she looked down at the various pasta .

Former idol group member assaults aspiring teenage singer

A request for an arrest warrant has been filed against Ko Young-wook, a member of idol group Roo’Ra from the 1990s.
Yongsan Police announced yesterday that it is currently investigating Ko after he allegedly lured an aspiring teenage singer with alcohol before raping her.

According to the police, Ko saw the wannabe celebrity on a variety show on TV last month. Ko took an immediate interest in the young girl and called up the cable channel to get her number. He then made contact, promising the young girl that he’d help her get started in the entertainment industry. When they met up in person, Ko said to the girl, “People will recognize me, let’s go somewhere we can talk,” before taking her back to his studio in Yongsan.

At Ko’s residence, Ko prompted the teenager to drink various alcohol before raping her. Then few days later the two met up again and Ko asked the girl to become his “lover,” and pressured her to have sex with him again.

The police was notified of the incident through an organization that specializes in schoolyard violence prevention. Ko made an official apology yesterday and said that his version of the story was yet to be told.

[..] In his third year of high school, Himchan who lived a life more intensely than others was able to taste victory when he was accepted to the Korea National University of the Arts.

“At the time, the acceptance for Korea National University of the Arts was 100% based off of skill and with fate being on my side, I was accepted (laughs). Everyone says I stepped foot into an elite course but for me, I just thought of it as a reward for all the effort I put in to be accepted into that school rather than considering myself as an elite. I still have a lot of pride in my acceptance to this day, although as of right now I’m taking a break from school as my second year in university to focus on promotions for B.A.P.”

MBLAQ’s Lee Joon was recently voted the no. 1 artistic idol by fellow idol stars. In the upcoming episode of MBC Every1 “Weekly Idol,” idols voted for the idol with the most artistic soul in the “Real Chart! Idol Self Ranking” segment of the show. The candidates for the title included SHINee’s Onew, who dreams of becoming an opera star; 2NE1’s CL, who inherited her father’s talents; f(x)’s Krystal, who showed her natural talent for figure skating; and more. However, the title ultimately went to Lee Joon.

During a phone call, Lee Joon was asked, “Which idol star do you wish voted for you,” to which he replied instantly, “miss A’s Suzy.”  He was also taken aback when the MC revealed that Suzy participated in the voting. Lee Joon shyly greeted, “When we see each other next time, let’s say hi~” Meanwhile, MBC Every1 “Weekly Idol” will air its next episode tomorrow, May 9 at 6PM KST.

South Korean police said Monday they would propose a new law to punish drivers watching television, following a public outcry over the death of three cyclists last week.

The current law bans drivers from watching dashboard-mounted televisions while driving, but there is no specific penalty.

The televisions, widely used in tech-savvy South Korea, are programmed to cut out when vehicles are in motion but can be easily reconfigured to stay on.

Police said a new law would soon be submitted to parliament.

"There is a public consensus that drivers watching... TVs must be punished", the National Police Agency said in a statement.

A truck driver killed three professional women cyclists in an accident at Euiseong, 330 kilometres (205 miles) southeast of Seoul, last Tuesday.

The driver admitted he was watching television at the time. He was arrested for dangerous driving, not for watching the screen.

Police said many drivers watch television while driving, and residents say some Seoul taxi drivers are among the culprits.
Official data showed 5,505 people were killed in 226,878 auto accidents in 2010 in South Korea.

The leadership of South Korea's largest Buddhist order resigned en masse Thursday after video footage emerged of junior monks playing poker with thousands of dollars at stake.

Prosecutors launched a probe after the footage came to light this week of eight monks from the Jogye Order gambling at a hotel room in southern Jangseong County.

Gambling is illegal in South Korea, except for in special areas such as casinos for foreign tourists, and is also a breach of the Buddhist order's code of discipline.

The gambling, which took place last month, was filmed by another monk and the video footage was given as evidence to police. The eight monks were also allegedly drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes in breach of Buddhist rules.

"All the six members of the executive committee of the Jogye Order have tendered their resignations, holding themselves responsible for the incident," a Jogye Order spokesman told AFP.

Jaseung, head of the order, said the monks would face tough punishment and the order is expected to make an apology to the nation as early as Friday, Yonhap news agency said.

The gambling controversy is the latest incident in a long-running feud between supporters of the Jogye Order's current administration and its opponents, as the footage was secretly recorded by an opponent and then made public.

On Wednesday, one of the opponents, known by his Buddhist name Seongho, sued his eight fellow monks for gambling and betting "hundreds of millions of won."

The Jogye Order, which claims 10 million followers among South Korea's 50 million population, has been plagued by factional feuds. Dozens of monks were injured when rival factions clashed in 1999.

North Korea has held public executions of at least three people on charges of cannibalism in recent years, a South Korean state-run institute said Thursday, the latest development that could support what has long been rumored in the isolated country.

There have been accounts among North Korean defectors in the South that some North Koreans ate and sold human flesh during the massive famine in the late 1990s that was estimated to have killed 2 million people.

A North Korean man in the northeastern city of Hyesan was executed in December 2009 for killing a preteen girl and eating her flesh, the Korea Institute for National Unification said in a white paper on human rights in North Korea, which is set to be released next week.

The man committed the crime because of a lack of food following Pyongyang's botched currency reform in late 2009 that caused massive inflation and worsened food shortages, the white paper said, citing an interview with an unidentified defector in June last year.

The institute held in-depth interviews with 230 North Korean defectors in the South last year as part of efforts to glean fresh information on the North's situation ahead of publication of its annual white paper.
The interviewees account for just a fraction of the more than 23,500 North Korean defectors )

The growing availability of news media and cellphones in reclusive North Korea likely forced it to admit within hours that its long-range rocket launch last month was a failure, the U.S. human rights envoy to the country said Thursday.

The envoy, Robert King, was speaking at the launch of a U.S. government-funded study that says North Koreans now have unprecedented exposure to foreign media, giving them a more positive impression of the outside world.

North Korea allowed foreign journalists extensive access to the country to report on the centennial of the nation's founder in mid-April, which included the launch of a satellite into space that violated U.N. sanctions. The rocket, which uses the same technology to ballistic missiles, disintegrated within a minute or two of takeoff.
The media environment in North Korea has changed and is changing )

Uee comes in at number three in a list of ‘Top Ten’ Idol actors created by Chosun News.

Chosun gathered a group of experts to survey and analyze K-Pop idols who are also actors. This group complied a list of traits idols need to posses like “Analytical character, speech, and processing fundamentals” to make a good actor.

Training to become a singer includes classes on ”pronunciation, vocal training, and step by step use of proper language“. Idols are able to use this training to become singers and help launch a successful acting career. They also receive a leg up in terms of popularity due to the amount of fans they already have from singing. Because of this built in fan base a professor from Sungkyunkwan University’s School of Communication commented that there is a “fierce competition in the ratings…” in regards to producers having a an Idol star in their drama.
