Secret and other nameless acts continue in Japan despite lack of success

Korean girl group Secret held their final concert of their Japanese mini-tour on the 8th at ZEPP Tokyo. The group started the tour on the 5th, performing in Osaka, Tokyo and Nagoya.

The 4-member group first debuted in Korea in 2009, with hits like "Shy Boy." They advanced into the Japanese market last year, debuting with "Madonna" which ranked at #9 on the Oricon chart, and their second single hit #14. Their success has been lackluster compared to Shojo Jidai or KARA, but nevertheless, they have continued on in Japan with their concert tour. One has to ask, why?

There’s a new application out on iTunes that shows perhaps your favorite idols, the five young ladies of f(x). This application is the diary application and shows to fans the different images that can be found in the girls’ 2012 diary, as well as additional images, perhaps from their calendar. The girls show a fun and dorky look for the camera and app and it’s a plethora of eye candy!

The famed cosplay group burst onto the scene a few years ago, and with their picture perfect costumes, professional quality photos, and that subtle charm called allure, people began to take notice online, which coincided with Spiral Cats' initial goal of raising awareness of the skill of Korean cosplayers. Later, they were invited to represent South Korean cosplay at the international level. By then, their reputation as the cream of the crop was sealed. Now, game companies offer them promotional jobs during gaming events, meaning Spiral Cats has turned its cosplay into its business.

Queens Blade MMORPG Has Sexy Women, No Apostrophe, Few Scruples

The new adults only MMORPG by Korean developer LivePlex is called Queens Blade, sans apostrophe. That's how it's printed in the upper left hand corner of the game's homepage, which reads "The Queens Blade is registered trademark of LivePlex." The game has nothing to do with the Queen's Blade you may know, but it's going to make some people very rich all the same.
The first closed beta test (CBT) of the MMORPG from February this year had 20,000 people test the game, which is still less than half of the 57,000 people who applied. The second CBT will run from April 16 to April 22, and LivePlex will select a total of 30,000 people to test this time. Everyone from the first testing phase must reapply if they want to play in the second test.

Brand New Stardom to debut two new groups this year

It looks like Brand New Stardom is ready to bounce back from their bout of controversy earlier this year with Block B with new releases in the upcoming months!

On March 28th, Brand New Stardom’s official Twitter announced, “Mid-April, EvoL will be debuting through an eight episode real variety show on MBC Music. Various footage from their debut preparations and working with Block B’s Kyung, who has produced their debut album, will air! The members of our next group, ‘Topp Dogg‘, will also make a guest appearance ^^.”

Fans of the company have known for some time now that EvoL, a female hip hop group, would be debuting this year, but it looks a final date has been set. As for Topp Dogg, it seems like it’ll be another boy group, as Block B had previously revealed that one of the names in consideration for their own debut was ‘Topp Dogg’.

Ivy secures "Chicago" role

Singer Ivy, who just days earlier announced her comeback, has secured the role of "Roxy" in the musical "Chicago." As she steps back onto the Korean music scene, Ivy will play the leading role in the Broadway musical from June 10 to Oct. 7 at D-Cube Arts Center in Sindorim in Seoul.

The news came after Ivy had auditioned for the role before the Broadway staff.

"Roxy needs to be sexy and lovable at the same time. We thought that Ivy captured the essence of Roxy perfectly," said a production spokesperson.

"When I saw ‘Chicago' for the first time as a musical in 2008, I thought I'd die totally content, so long as I was able to star in it. It's my first major musical role -- so it's daunting -- but because of the great cast members, I feel assured," said Ivy. The entertainer also added that on-stage, she hopes to portray the character Roxy more so than the singer Ivy.

Musical actress Yoon Gong-ju and singer Insooni are also set to star in the Korean rendition of the Broadway classic. Male leads will be played by Nam Kyung-joo, Sung Gi-yoon and Ryu Chang-woo.

We previously reported that despite 2NE1‘s ‘dating ban’, Big Bang‘s Seungri has been introducing Sandara Park to a number of men.

The March 27th ‘YG Family‘ special of SBS Strong Heart also revealed that Sandara’s fellow 2NE1 member CL admitted that she actively prevented Dara from going on dates.

“I introduced Sandara to a number of guys,” Seungri remarked. “But one said that she hung up on him when he tried to call and talk to her.”

Sandara attempted to explain the situation and said, “That’s because CL picked up the phone and hung up on him.”

“Seungri has a loud voice, so when he calls Sandara, everyone in the room can hear him,” CL said. “But that day, something was strange. I felt like it was an unfamiliar man who was calling her, so I picked up the phone instead and hung up.”

When asked why she did so, CL answered, “Because I’m the leader, and we are banned from dating.”

Also on the same episode, 2NE1′s label mate Se7en evoked laughter by revealing Dara only likes younger, ‘flower boy’ type males.

Jang Keun Suk's Completely Serious and Respectable Japanese Activities

Actor Jang Geunsuk will soon begin his "2012 Jang Geunsuk Asia Tour" with his first concert in Seoul this July. 

Last year, Jang Geunseuk went on his Asia tour that began in April titled "2011 Jang Geunseuk Asia Tour." He visited several countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Shanghai, giving him the opportunity to meet his fans from across Asia. Jang Geunseuk is once again set to showcase various stages to his fans this year.

Following his concert in Seoul in July, Jang Geunseuk will stop in Japan where he will visit 5 different cities including Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Saitama. He will then continue on to visit Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taiwan, and Thailand. 

Meanwhile, Jang Geunseuk is currently appearing in his latest drama on KBS called "Love Rain" alongside Girls' Generation's Yoona as his co-star. In addition, he is set to release his first Japanese album on May 30th called "Just Crazy."

Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk will release his first full-length Japanese album in two months, according to his agency YTree Media.
