Dal Shabet‘s agency has revealed that they would be stepping up to take responsibility for the fight that broke out between Dal Shabet fans.

On February 24th, the agency stated, “We heard that violence erupted between the fans… Because it was something that happened after the event, we are at a loss [about what to do].

They continued, “We think that it is only right that we take responsibility even for something that has happened between the fans… We will be paying for the medical bills of the victim.

This comes after the news about an encounter between fans that erupted into a violent situation.

Fan ‘A’ met a group of fans while following after Dal Shabet’s car after the fan meeting. Although they were all fans sharing love for Dal Shabet, they had varying opinions on a variety of issues, and thus found themselves in an argument.

‘A’ grabbed one of the other fans, frightening her and causing her to call an oppa she knew (‘B’) for help along with five others. The situation soon erupted into violence and threats, and came to an end when ‘A’ managed to escape, but only after sustaining injuries that required two weeks of recovery.

‘A’ requested the police to investigate into the matter, and fearing that the perpetrators would get off with too light of a punishment, ‘A’ proceeded to post about the matter online to bring awareness to the issue at hand.

Episode 138 of MBC's variety show, 세바퀴 (Sebakwi) (aka Quiz to Change the World) aired January 21st, 2012 and featured a very clearly racist performance.

Two guests come out at around 47:00 wearing blackface masks and proceed to make fools of themselves. It's difficult to tell their real identities but one of them wears a name tag that says "Mi Seu Ri."

The fellow celebrity guests happily participates in their act, laughing, clapping and cheering as the two go about their appalling act.

I can't understand Korean so I'm unsure of what prompted this gross show of racism. I do, however, know that it's completely uncalled for and inexusable in any context and it's shocking that these kind of things are allowed to keep being broadcasted, and on such popular channels nonetheless.

Se7en will go on the stage with 2NE1’s Park Bom this week at SBS “Inkigayo” for a live performance of his latest single, “When I Can’t Sing.” This is the second joint performance by Se7en, following last week’s stage with the song’s composer, Park Jin Young.

Park Bom fell in love with Se7en’s ‘When I Can’t Sing’ right after she heard it for the first time. Although 2NE1 is super busy with their Japanese album and music video, Park Bom is doing her best to prepare for this week’s special stage,” YG Entertainment said in a press release.

Se7en and Park Bom’s pairing was made possible after Yang Hyun Suk and Park Jin Young discussed further ways to promote Se7en’s latest hit single. JYP and Se7en’s joint stage was met with much fanfare and so they decided to try it another time differently with Park Bom’s unique vocals. In fact, Se7en and Park Bom are known for being huge fans of each other, so this could turn out to be the start of more special stages to come.

Se7en and Park Bom’s performance of “When I Can’t Sing” will be shown on February 26 through SBS “Inkigayo.”

In case you missed it, make sure you watch Se7en and Park Jin Young's performance of "When I Can't Sing" below!

DISCLAIMER: Please note that Brand New Stardom and Block B have not released an official statement regarding this matter. P.O's condition is NOT THE SAME as the classic depiction of schizophrenia. His diagnosis is very minor and was brought on by stress and shock. He did not have a pre-existing condition.
"The diagnosis of Block B's P.O (real name Pyo Jihoon, 19), who was hospitalized as a result of public criticism against their inappropriate interview with Thailand media, has been revealed.
Through a call with W Star News from a representative of Block B's management BrandnewStardom, it was explained that, "The results of P.O's diagnostic tests, who is currently admitted to a university hospital, has come out. The psychiatric expert's opinion is that it's stress-induced schizophrenia. It looks like the immediate cause of it would be excessive cyber-bullying." The official added that while his condition is not critical, his improvement shall be further monitored before other arrangements are made.
"We hope there will be no more criticisms arising from mere speculations. Although we had hoped to not expose the hospital, fans are already moving (to visit him). Because it is now the weekend, it would also be difficult to move him to another hospital. " He continued, expressing their helplessness in the situation.
Regarding the other members of Block B, he relayed that, "The kids were ignorant and rash but the reactions have been too severe. At present they are very anxious and look very pitiful." He avoided responding to questions about Block B's future activities."

A senior figure in the Japanese entertainment industry has warned against the flood of Korean singers, manufactured bands and actors who rush to perform in Tokyo, which has become something of a rite of passage for entertainers who made it in Korea. "I'm afraid that the rotation of Korean acts [through Japan] is too fast," said Koh Koike, the CEO of Japan's Oricon, which supplies statistics and information on music and the music industry.

The Oricon chart has become something of a Bible for Korean musicians. Established in 1967 and using album sales data collected from around 26,000 music stores across Japan to come up with daily, weekly and monthly rankings, it is a highly respected barometer of Japan's entertainment industry, comparable to the Billboard Top 100 Chart in the U.S.

Koike made the remarks in Korea, where he attended the first Gaon Charts K-Pop Awards on Wednesday. His advice paints a less-than-rosy picture of the future of K-Pop in Japan. "Right now, there is a fan base for K-Pop due to the physical appeal of groups like Girls' Generation or Kara, but I think what will matter in the future is the variety of music that Korean singers are able to offer," he said. "Korean singers who have recently become popular in Japan tend to stay in the country briefly and tour only major cities, but this won't help them win broad popularity there," he added. "The precedents set by leaders Dongbangshingi (TVXQ), Girls' Generation and Kara are very important for other Korean singers in Japan. If their album sales fall, this could impact other Korean singers as well, and that would lead to the perception that their popularity was just a flash in the pan."

He said the polished image and strong fan base are the main reasons for the success of Korean acts on the Oricon chart. "Korean acts who did well on the Oricon chart have unique visual concepts and their singing and dancing skills are outstanding," Koike said. "Many fans find out about them from the Internet even before their Japanese debut, so they get a huge welcome."

Asked about the abrupt cancellation of an advertising campaign in Japan featuring Korean actress Kim Tae-hee due to anti-Korean sentiment, Koike said, "That sentiment is being expressed by only a small group of people. I think that Kim Tae-hee's side may have overreacted to the negative opinions. Most Japanese people do not express opinions. They just like K-Pop and Korean TV dramas."

Seoul Food: Treating Your Idol to Lunch Is the True Test of Fandom
For a Contribution of Just $135, You Can Feed a Korean Pop Star

By JAEYEON WOO

SEOUL—Fans of pop stars send their idols all sorts of crazy stuff. In South Korea, the true measure of a fan's devotion is sending lunch to the stars.

On a recent Saturday here in Seoul, members of A Pink, a seven-member girl group, worked their way through beautifully crafted lunch boxes featuring egg salad with tomatoes, basil and toasted breadcrumbs, rice wrapped in seasoned lettuce, and beef-and-vegetable-skewers, all paid for by a fan.

"We enjoyed it so much and we were so moved by all the efforts that must've been put into these lunches," said Jung Eun-ji, a 17-year-old member of the group, one of the newest on the Korean pop scene. "There were even our pictures decorated on the outside of the lunch boxes."

I always wondered where and who made these since Beast's lunch boxes are amazing and look so yummy. Also, my babies on WSJ! There is a video at the source but I couldn't figure out how to embed it.

The boys of Block B have been under quite a lot of mental and emotional stress ever since they’ve found themselves in the middle of a controversy after their interview in Thailand. It seems the stress reached a point in which it became too hard for member P.O. to handle, as he has been hospitalized.

With the controversy getting out of hand, P.O. has been reported to have been in a state of panic after suffering from much stress the past week. With the news of a petition calling for his suicide by some cruel individuals, the stress and shock seems to have led to his hospitalization on February 24th.

People have been wondering where P.O. was during ‘M! Countdown’, since he had been seen at a pre-recording, but not during the actual show. It seems his missing presence was due to his state of health.

Brand New Stardom stated, “It is true that P.O. is currently hospitalized. It seems he has experienced much shock after the current controversy, but his full medical examination report has not yet come out.

They also added,“Currently, we’re most worried about the members’ health and the welfare of their families.

As reported earlier, Block B has issued written apologies, bowed to show their remorse on their music show appearance, and also released a video apology to show their sincere remorse and offer their apology to the people of Thailand.

Even to a bystander, this is too goddamn cruel. If any of them come to any more harm, I hope every person who signed that damn petition never sleeps again.
