‘Invincible Youth 2′ confirmed, first shooting scheduled for this week!

The wait is finally over for KBS‘s ‘Invincible Youth‘ fans of old, since the producers of the former show have revealed that all lights are green for the program to return with a second season!

The cast will once again be comprised of an all-new ‘G7′, and two of the members were drawn from rookie girl groups through an audition format.

According to an industry insider, popular girl group members will once again comprise the cast, including those from girl groups which were featured in Season 1 of ‘Invincible Youth’. The first shooting will be carried out with the new cast members having no knowledge of who their fellow castmates will be.

The first meeting of the new ‘G7′ is scheduled to take place later this week at a fishing village on Korea’s western coast.

JYPE confirms that the Wonder Girls will not return to a ‘retro’ concept

With their comeback just around the corner, JYP Entertainment recently shed light on the Wonder Girls‘ preparations for their upcoming album and their thoughts on competing against SNSD.

JYP Entertainment stated on October 17th, “It’d be a lie if we said we’re not stressing over SNSD’s comeback. But because we’ll be standing in front of everyone after such a long period away, we’re concentrating more on bringing out a quality album.”

While the agency is still mum on the group’s comeback concept, they’ve confirmed that the girls will be breaking free from the ‘retro’ concept, as seen in “Tell Me”, “So Hot”, and “2 Different Tears”. Reportedly, the Wonder Girls have already completed recording their title track while traveling back and forth between Korea and the U.S.

“The members produced a lot of tracks while they were in the States. Even though they returned to Korea last week, they’re still very focused on their recordings. The title track will be very different from the ‘retro’ concept. We will be revealing a new image to the Wonder Girls,” said the representative.

One of the reasons why JYPE decided to steer away from ‘retro’ lies in how the group’s entire album will be installed in their upcoming U.S. movie, “The Wonder Girls at the Apollo”. The songs selected will not only be suitable for the movie itself, but will also aim to target the U.S. music market.

Although they’ve confirmed their comeback to be in early November, the official date has yet to be finalized, as the girls are still in the process of selecting the album’s remaining songs.

“Since it’s the first album to be released after such a long time, we’re putting a lot of care into each and every song. We will work to bring out a great album and show an awesome image on a perfect stage. We ask for your support.”

"Warrior Baek Dongsoo" actor Ji Chang Wook is expected to appear in girl group T-ara's drama format music video alongside Cha Seung Won.

T-ara's agency Core Contents Media said on the 17th, "Cha Seung Won and Ji Chang Wook are scheduled to appear in T-ara's blockbuster music video together." Ji Chang Wook became a hit after appearing in KBS 1TV's "Smile, Donghae" and SBS "Warrior Baek Dongsoo"

In the music video, Cha Seung Won will appear as a pestering bully that constantly bothers Ji Chang Wook, which eventually leads to an intense fight between the two.

The 30-minute music video will be in the form of a drama and directed by the famous music video and CF director Cha Euntaek. T-ara, Ji Chang Wook and Cha Seung Won went down to Busan to begin shooting on the 16th and plan to continue shooting for the next six days.

Meanwhile, T-ara will began full scale activities when the album will is released in November. They are also preparing for their second single in Japan.

After revealing Seyong's solo shot earlier last week, just before the weekend, H2 Media followed up on their promise to reveal the others' pictures this week. Instead of revealing them one by one, the company released concept pictures for all five members at the same time, showing their somewhat original and unique colorful concept.

MYNAME consists of five members and was originally known as Hwanhee Boys prior to their naming. Insoo, Seyong, Jun.Q, leader Gunwoo and maknae Chaejin, have ages ranging from being born in 1988 to 1995.

They will be debuting on M! Countdown on October 27th, and will be releasing their first ever single "Message" on October 18th, just a few hours after their debut performance.

Shin Hyesung Confirms Shinhwa's Comeback Date + New Solo Album At The Road Not Taken III

On October 16th, Shin Hye Sung held his Japanese concert, ‘Shin Hye Sung 2011 Japan Tour – The Road Not Taken Act III‘, and confirmed an official comeback date for legendary group, Shinhwa!

Shin Hye Sung revealed, “On March 24th of next year, the six members of Shinhwa are planning to get together to put out another album and perform. We’re currently meeting up frequently to share our opinions and ideas.”

He continued, “I’m also planning to release my own album in Korea this winter. It will be one filled with songs of my musical color. Please give much love for both my album and Shinhwa’s upcoming release.”

Woman gets $4 compensation for Korean War killing

A South Korean woman has been offered a little over $4 in government compensation for the death of her brother during the 1950-53 Korean War, embarrassing officials who say they were bound by an out-dated law.

The woman was two years old when her brother was killed in combat in 1950, but never knew of his existence until told of his death by a neighbor, local media reported, adding the children's mother has suffered from dementia.

The family had not received any compensation until April when the soldier's sister was awarded 5,000 won ($4.33) under a law in effect during the war.

The presidential Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission has called the decision "incomprehensible" and urged the government to review it.

"We hope that this case will lead to forming a system of adequately compensating the families of Korean War veterans who continue to live with deep pain," the commission said.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Defense Ministry said a new law was needed to pay more or adjust the sum to incorporate inflation and interest.

Nearly 140,000 South Korean soldiers were killed in combat and as many as 130,000 are missing in action according to the Defense Ministry.

To put it simply, says Renalyn Mulato, the daughter of a Filipina immigrant married to a South Korean man, the key to multicultural happiness is love and understanding.

That may seem like a painfully obvious prerequisite for most marriages, but for many immigrants in South Korea, it isn’t always that easy.

South Korea has been grappling with shifting demographics that have left many middle-aged men cut adrift in a country that prizes marriage. As Korean women leave their hometowns for careers in the big cities, the men left behind are increasingly looking for brides from poorer Asian nations such as Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Mongolia.

More than 100,000 women among South Korea’s 1.2-million foreign population are estimated to be foreign brides. This influx of foreigners has accelerated multiculturalism in Korea. But many of those marriages don’t turn out well. Part of the problem, say experts, is a lack of government oversight of agencies that locate foreign brides for Korean men. The result, say critics, is hundreds of unhappy marriages between middle-aged Korean men and young foreign women trying to escape poverty.

Korean men seeking to wed foreign brides are now required to take courses to prepare them for international unions.

A swarm of young Japanese women surrounded the entertainers when this scene occurred recently on Okubo-dori avenue in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo.

The area near JR Shin-Okubo Station is dubbed Korea Town. It is home to many Korean restaurants and shops, and amid the current South Korean pop culture boom such establishments are rapidly increasing in number. Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun reconfirmed her affection for Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
On October 17th, Seohyun starred in KBS 2TV “Hello” with fellow member Sunny.
During the show, Seohyun introduced a story sent in by a viewer about a high school senior’s mom being a fan of Baek Chungkang. While reading, she was asked, “Is there a celebrity you were a fan of?” To this, Sunny revealed, “When I opened the room to Seohyun’s door and stepped inside, I was surprised by a large photo of a man at her headboard. The person in the photo was Johnny Depp.”
To this, MC Shin Dongyup asked, “I’ve heard that you like Ban Ki-moon, too. So who do you like more between those two?” to which Seohyun replied, “Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.”
Seohyun explained, “I got to liking him from looking at how he is on the inside. I’ve read his books on life, and searched articles on him and came to looking up to him.”

Supreme Team‘s Simon D recently sat down for an interview with Yeonhap News to talk about the inspirations behind not only his solo album, “SNL League Begins“, but also what defines him as a rapper.

He made quite a few fans confused with his solo album cover alone. In the cover, he appears as a comic book antagonist and E-Sens is depicted as the hero. Many questioned why would the star of the show want to be the antagonist.

It actually has to do with his roots. “As it is my first solo album, I wanted to put in it the determination I debuted with. Ever since my younger days, I wanted to become the rascal of the hip-hop scene. In the movies ‘Die Hard 3‘ and ‘Demolition Man‘, both of the antagonists are named Simon. I felt really charmed by that, so I was determined to become a rapper that would work to get rid of all of the fake rappers that only look nice on the outside,” he explained.

New Variety Show To Give 90s K-Pop Groups A Chance To Reunite and Comeback

Cable channel SBSPlus will be airing a new survival program called ‘Comeback Show Top 10‘. The show will invite the old school ‘Gayo Top 10‘ idol groups of the 90′s and give them a chance to reunite, as well as a chance to make a comeback.

The mastermind behind the new show is none other than PD Kim Jong Jin who has also directed “Joyful Saturday“, and “Your Inkigayo“.

Detailed information regarding their filming schedule as well as the show’s cast members have not yet been revealed, however, it has been confirmed that they have just finished their first shoot. Staff members also announced that former Seo Taiji & Boys member Lee Juno & group Goofy have already been confirmed for the show. They’re also in the process of contacting stars such as H.O.T, Sechs Kies & S.E.S.

Netizens showed a lot of interest in the program once they heard the news, especially in the potential reunion of artists such as Seo Taiji & Boys, Goofy, and R.ef. The first episode of ‘Comeback Show Top 10′ airs on November 16th, and will be hosted by comedian Park Myungsoo and actress Lee Bon.

Following KARA’s Kang Jiyoung, Girls’ Generation’s Sunny and Hyoyeon will be joining the cast of KBS2′s “Invincible Youth 2″.
On October 18th, according to a source, with the “Invincible Youth 2″ line-up coming to its final stages, Sunny and Hyoyeon have been confirmed to join the cast alongside KARA’s Kang Jiyoung.
They revealed, “We will begin filiming on October 26th. For a dramatic opening, the member line-up was decided in secrecy, but because word spreads so quickly, primary members have been revealed through rumors already.”
While many girl groups gathered for the G7 member auditions, only two will get the opportunity to join (Editor’s note: It seems that they were referring to only have two rookie girl group members). It was informed the remaining five members will be ones that have a certain degree of recognition and popularity.
Back when the second season was decided on, Kim Hosang CP stated, “We probably won’t stray too far from the layout of season one, but we are planning on showing a new farm variety show. While Yuchiri, Kangwondo was the background for the previous season, season two will be set in a new location. All the members will also be replaced.” (Editor’s note: Obviously not all the members have been replaced, since Sunny is returning)

SHINee to Release Full Length Japanese Album on November 23rd!

SHINee's Japanese label revealed the release of the group's first ever Japanese album through their own website. The album, fittingly titled "THE FIRST", will include SHINee's previously released Japanese singles starting from the first one, "Replay -You Are My Everything-", till the third, "Lucifer".

"THE FIRST" will include 12 songs and will be released in a regular version, a limited, and a special limited box version. The regular version includes a CD as well as a 44-page photo booklet and an extra bonus track called "Stranger", which is an OST song for the drama "Stranger6".

The limited version comes with a 2012 desk calendar and a 68-page photobook with pictures from their stay in London from earlier this year. This version also includes a DVD with "JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION DIGEST MOVIE in JAPAN & LONDON" footage.

The box version comes with an 88-page booklet, a limited edition button, a deluxe CD, DVD and calendar. The box also comes a voucher to download a full MP3 version of the album, a "JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION DIGEST MOVIE in JAPAN" DVD and jacket shooting footage.

SM Entertainment boy group SHINee will be releasing their first Japanese album as soon as November 23rd.

Super Junior To Release SS3 Live Album On October 24th

Super Junior will be releasing a new live album, ‘Super Junior the 3rd Asia Tour Concert Album-Super Show #3‘ on October 24th!

The album will contain two disks capturing their live performances during their concert ‘The 3rd Asia Tour Concert – Super Show 3‘ from August 14th and 15th at Seoul Olympic Park. The live album is reported to be for those fans who missed the concerts or would like to experience the performances again. Super Show 3 had performances by all the Super Junior sub-units including Super Junior-T and Super Junior-M as well as a surprise performance by Heechul and f(x)‘s Sulli of Defcon‘s “The Way Idols Break Up.”

Super Show 3 showcased 37 tracks in all with trot unit Super Junior-T revealed their new single, “Tok Tok Tok,” for the first time during the tour as well.

Super Junior will be having their first performance for their fourth concert ‘Super Junior World Tour-Super Show 4‘ starting on November 19th and 20th at Seoul Olympic Park.

T.O.P & Kim Ha Neul to star in Korean adaptation of “ABSOLUTE BOYFRIEND”!

Newsen is reporting that the actors have been cast in the Korean drama adaptation of the Japanese manga, Absolute Boyfriend, that is scheduled to air next April. Mok Yun Hee (tvN Three Men, KBS Look Back With A Smile) has been named the writer while the director has not been confirmed as of yet. Currently MBC plans to air it. Shooting is scheduled to begin in December.
