Fat Cat blows the audience away with her debut performance on ‘Inkigayo’

On September 25th, Fat Cat aka ‘Defconn Girl‘ made an astounding debut performance on SBS‘s ‘Inkigayo‘, which caused her name to become the most searched on Naver, a Korean portal site.

Despite it being her very first solo performance, she showcased amazing talent which made many question if Fat Cat was really a newcomer. The rookie artist was extremely charismatic during her live stage, as she worked every bit of it in a leather suit and a dramatic red hairstyle. Her live performance of “Indifferent Love” was right on the spot as she perfectly sang each note, and the audience was further impressed by her ‘tic-tac dance’, which proved that not only was she a powerful singer, but a great dancer as well.

Spectators shared their thoughts about the performance as they commented, “I could easily sing along to the song after one hearing” and “Her ‘tic tac’ dance is daebak!“.

Regarding her first solo performance, the artist shared, “I was so nervous because it was my first performance, but I’m really thankful for everyone’s attention and support. I will pay back the viewers’ support with an even better performance in the future.”

Representatives from the music industry are already expecting a lot from Fat Cat, who stands as one of the few female soloists doing promotions at this time.

Her new single, “Indifferent Love” was released on the 26th through an online site.

Boyfriend's Upcoming 2nd Mini Teaser

Boyfriend plans to add some testosterone in the midst of a frenzy of girl group comebacks.

The boys of Boyfriend have been working diligently on their impending comeback. The only info we had thus far was via a twitter post by member Kwangmin but now we have some more info and a teaser was also uploaded to Starship Entertainment‘s official YouTube channel!

Boyfriend’s 2nd single album will be titled “Don’t Touch My Girl” and contains 5 track in total:

02. 내 여자 손대지마 (Don’t touch my girl)
03. 점점점 (Jum Jum Jum / Little by Little)

Supernova's Yoonhak to enlist on October 25th + temporary leader appointed

Earlier on it was revealed that Supernova's leader Yoonhak was drafted for his military duties and would be leaving sometime in October. At Supernova's concert in Nagoya, Japan earlier this month, the group unveiled that their leader will be enlisting on October 25th. 

It was also revealed that a new and temporary leader, Sungje, was appointed to serve the duties of a group's leader during the absence of Yoonhak. Sungje, being the second oldest of the group, had previously been appointed as leader prior to Yoonhak's entrance to the group.

In addition, it was reported that Yoonhak will be serving 18 months instead of the usual 24 months, as he was rewarded a shorter draft because of his studies. Yoonhak studied in Japan and even worked as an interpreter before joining the male group. He had even received an academic award for being one of South Korea's top scholars as outstanding student.

Supernova is also set on having a fanmeet before Yoonhak's enlistment. The meeting, titled "For You," will be held on October 16th at the Saitama Super Arena. The news was revealed through their official website.

T-ara’s “Bo Peep Bo Peep” grabs first place on Oricon daily chart

T-ara has already created a daebak on the day of their Japanese debut!

On September 28th, the girls released their debut single, “Bo Peep Bo Peep“, which ranked at #1 on the Oricon daily singles chart.

The album recorded 20,068 copies in sales on it's first day, a high number compared to the other Korean girl groups who made their debuts in the J-Pop market. Not only that, officials are already predicting that T-ara could easily break records set by other girl groups in their first week alone.

SNSD‘s “Gee” is currently at #1 in terms of first week sales, recording at 44,907 copies. KARA‘s “Mister” sold 29,238, while Rainbow‘s “A” followed with 24,082 copies. After School‘s “Bang!” rounds out the list with 23,760 copies.

Japan has asked South Korea to block a plan of a group of elderly Korean women who were forced into sexual slavery to serve Japan's World War II soldiers to set up a "Peace Monument" near the Japanese embassy in Seoul, a foreign ministry official said Wednesday.

The Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan, which represents the Korean victims and has staged rallies in front of the Japanese embassy on Wednesday of every week, plans to unveil the monument in December to mark its 1,000th demonstration, Yonhap News Agency reported.

The rallies are aimed at demanding the Japanese government apologise for and pay direct compensation to the victims, euphemistically called "comfort women." "Japan's Foreign Ministry has asked us to prevent them from setting up the Peace Monument," the official said on the condition of anonymity.

But every morning, after sending her two sons and husband off to school and work, she sets out in search of local scofflaws -- such as cram school teachers, restaurateurs or beauty salon owners.

"Some of them charge parents more than state-set tuition limits, don't disclose on the menu the origin of food they serve, or give skincare treatments which only doctors are allowed to perform," Chung, 54, told AFP.

"These are all against the law...I need evidence to report them to the authorities," she said, sporting a high-definition camcorder hidden in her purse with the lens peeking through a tiny hole.

Dynamic Duo's Gaeko is a father!

On September 28th, Dynamic Duo‘s Gaeko revealed that he’s become the proud father of a baby boy!

Representatives of his agency shared, “This morning, his wife was taken to the hospital and gave birth to their baby within an hour. The mother and baby are both healthy and doing fine. The baby’s father, Gaeko, is very happy right now.”

Gaeko’s fellow groupmate Choiza couldn’t hold back his joy over the news, as he gushed, “Congratulations! A baby boy! Kim Yoon Sung and Kim Soomi couple! Ah, I’m really so excited! I’m an uncle now! Mother and father, everyone fighting!”

Supreme Team‘s Simon D also wrote, “Gaeko hyung and Soomi nuna, I congratulate the birth of their son Rhythm (nickname).” Leessang‘s Gil added, “Gaeko, congratulations on your first son!”

Gaeko and his wife got married back in May after dating for five years. Congratulations to the happy parents!

On September 27th, Brian Joo updated his Twitter account with a photo of himself with f(x)'s Amber and miss A's Min backstage of his musical "Rent." He writes, "My lil' sisters, Thanx guys for coming to see RENT & always being supportive. Luv y'a."

In the photo, Brian can be seen wearing his makeup for the musical and wearing a red checked shirt and jeans. Min's arm can be seen wrapped around Brian's shoulder as she gives a peace sign to the camera, wearing a big gray Bulls sweatshirt and red sweatpants. Amber also takes a casual appearance with her hat, dark shirt, and green pants, giving a peace sign as she hides her face.

"Rent" began running in mid-August and will continue until October. Brian plays the roommate to the male lead and is the narrator of the musical as well.

Brian will soon be taking a trip to Malaysia as part of 3rd Wave, a contemporary Christian music group, on October 14th and 15th to participate in the Music Rally and fanmeet with former U-Kiss member Alexander.

Oricon powerhouse Tohoshinki has once again showed off their prowess.

Tohoshinki's new Japanese album TONE, which went on sale on September 28, has sold 105,484 copies on the first day of release and climbed to the #1 spot on the daily Oricon chart. According to Oricon, when one compares this with their previous album in 2009, Secret Code, which set a record of approximately 83,000 copies, this is a number which has surpassed that record.

This album is their first in 2 years since 2009's Secret Code, with 3 versions adorned with red, blue and yellow images revealed. Even before the album went on sale, they have monopolized the charts of various music sites, making a clean sweep, and of course also creating sold-out records along the way. On Japan's largest music site Recochoku, they have created the unprecedented record of having 6 songs climbing to the #1 position, setting an early prediction for a #1 spot on Oricon.

With the sale of the album just around the corner, Tohoshinki has almost plastered the whole of Tokyo's city center, signalling the beginning of large-scale promotions and capturing much attention. On the JR Yamanote Line, the Tohoshinki Train which is decorated with Tohoshinki's album images is currently running, while in Shinjuku, the first-ever 15x9m mega poster has been hung up.

The PD for MBC’s popular variety show ‘We Got Married‘ has revealed that they’ve confirmed three new couples!

He stated, “Yes, three couples are confirmed, but I cannot reveal them at the moment. I know problems will arise if I reveal who they  are, so I will wait until they actually start filming.”

Apparently, even the confirmed castmates don’t know who they’ll be pairing up with for the show. The producers wanted to make their  reactions at the first meet as realistic as possible, so everything is being kept under wraps for now.

‘We Got Married’ PD confirms that there will be an idol in the new couple

The PD for MBC’s popular variety show ‘We Got Married‘ has revealed that an idol was cast as part of a new couple.

He stated, “We will actually be inserting only one new couple. It seems that one partner will be an idol. However, I will not reveal whether that idol is a male or a female.” He also revealed that they’re trying their best so that new couple will be introduced on next week’s episode.

So far, netizens have been thrown in names like SISTAR‘s Hyorin or Super Junior‘s Leeteuk. While the latter’s participation has been denied, Hyorin’s side has remained fairly neutral on their answers.

The new couple will be joining Kim Won Joon, Park So Young, Lee Jang Woo, and Ham Eunjung on ‘We Got Married’.
