Here's an another article about protests and civil disobedience carried out by the people of Jeju Island and about the effects that the military presence on the island will have.
This article points out how the Korean government has blatantly disregarded the wishes of Jeju Island residents--expressed obviously through protests and social action over 5 years-- in order to construct the base. The undercover police cracked down on a peaceful protest on the 18th of June 2011. It also makes the case that the base is to serve US military interests, citing military analyst Matthew Hoey of the Cambridge-based Military Space Transparency Project. Lastly, it makes a mention of the environmental destruction the project will cause. Jeju Island is well known for its natural beauty and a host of rare ecological features, it has high biological diversity and unique volcanic features. It should not be sacrificed to satisfy the greed of military contractors, the project is projected to cost USD 1 billion, making it very profitable to corporations who will build and outfit the island with missile launchers and other weapons.
And here's another article which argues very well that this base is not in South Korea's interests, militarily or economically, instead benefits seem to accrue to the US. The military base is located in the East China Sea, a position that threatens China. This is very odd, because South Korea's biggest threat is North Korea, whereas China is its largest trading partner. On the other hand, this base would be useful the US to counter Chinese expansion into the mineral and oil rich East China Sea.
South Korea has long had ties with the US military, something the South Koreans are increasingly uncomfortable with. And the Korean government did not hold a legitimate vote for the people of Jeju Island to decide its fate, showing that the project itself is not legitimate.

Two Chinese Falun Gong practitioners in South Korea are at risk of being deported to China, where adherents of the spiritual practice are persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime.
South Korean authorities took the couple away from their home late Tuesday night. We are keeping their identities private for their safety. The male Falun Gong practitioner is a volunteer for NTD’s branch in South Korea. Both have been trying to apply for refugee status in the country.

Han Yeseul, who recently finished filming "Spy Myung Wol" as the female main character, has been invited to the National Assembly of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to share her opinions on how the drama production environment is for her and other actors and actresses in front of lawmakers. This invitation to testify came following the recent broadcasting conflicts with "Spy Myungwol." She will be asked to state her views on how to improve the filming environment of Korean television dramas.

It has been revealed that between the North Koreans, the most popular dance is from the music video of Lee Jung Hyun's Ban (Half). A North Korean radio broadcast revealed that every night, young people at their friends' homes, would dance to "Ban" and some learn the dance. Its been said that if you "ask a flower swallow to dance under a bridge, they would do the "ban" dance."
Not only the young, but many of the elderly like "Ban" as a Korean dance that they would want to show off how well their grandchildren and their friends would dance to "Ban." Especially during birthday parties, this dance is danced to bring the mood to the party. One said, "When you are down, after listening to this song, you feel happy and pumped," and another said, "This song is like drugs."
"Ban" is from Lee Jung Hyun's 3rd Album, in 2001, and received a lot of population in China also. Its been said that the North Koreans first discovered this song and dance from the Chinese, during a broadcast.

On September 10th, KBS‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly‘, broadcast an interview with Uee about her role as ‘Baek Ja Eun‘.
A love line between Uee and Joo Won (currently playing ‘Hwang Tae Hee‘) is supposed to develop from their constant bickering. When asked, “Isn’t the love line highlight a kiss scene?“, she laughed and responded with, “I’m embarrassed“.
Though she was a little shy, she further explained, “I’m thinking that if this love really comes true this time, then it’s a given that there is a kiss scene.”
When Joo Won was told, “Uee seems to be preparing her heart for it“, he explained “I haven’t thought that far yet. I’m still not trying to think about it. It’s rather embarrassing“.
Currently, ‘Ojakgyo Brothers’ is gaining much popularity with its high ratings.
