Han Yeseul, who recently finished filming "Spy Myung Wol" as the female main character, has been invited to the National Assembly of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to share her opinions on how the drama production environment is for her and other actors and actresses in front of lawmakers. This invitation to testify came following the recent broadcasting conflicts with "Spy Myungwol." She will be asked to state her views on how to improve the filming environment of Korean television dramas.

During this inspection, the parliamentary committee will be conducting their inspection of 28 different government offices including the different Ministries. These Ministries include Culture, Sports and Tourism, Cultural Heritage Administration, the Korea Communications Commission, and 23 other start-run firms. The inspection team committee will include twenty-eight different lawmakers.

This inspection will be aimed at surveying and finding problems with national administrations and reflecting on the results of their law making. It will also include the inspection of bills, budgets, and policies. This inspection will also help to correct practices and present policy options to relevant government agencies.

Four other entertainment figures have also been invited to testify, including Kim Byeongseok, a representative from CJ E&M Music Performance who will be asked about sound source distribution, and veteran trot singer Tae Jin-Ah, who will be appearing to speak about copyright trust and standard contract form issues for singers. The head of the drama department at KBS, Ko Young Tak, will also be another testifier who is representing the opinions of drama producers while Han Ye Seul is giving her opinion representing actors.

It is uncertain at this point if Han Yeseul will actually be participating in the inspection session, but if she participates, she will be an important testifier for this annual inspection of the film and music industry.

So it only takes one actress to start and inspection on working environments in the drama industry. But the idol industry will always remain the same

It'd be nice if she really does testify. The industry won't change in a long time, but it's a start.

They should also get Daniel Henney who has worked both in States and in Korea.

Hopefully she'll testify.

OP - I'd say it didn't take one actress, but instead the action of flying across an ocean to another country in the middle of a shoot to make this committee be formed.

I'm overall skeptical if anything will really happen in the long run with this. I hope so, but considering how long it took them to change the rules for child actors...I suspect this will be mired in committee debate, some rules dashed out that aren't followed (much like many others in KEnt), and then people forgetting or not enforcing the rules because that would put them behind others who are breaking them.

Yes, I clearly woke up with a happy picture of the world today -_-.

I hope she does. It's not like this is gonna change anything in the short term, but after what she did, she should stick to her views and go testify. And maybe, just maybe, this is the very first step to change something.
