On August 10th, a concept photo featuring Nine Muses’ Erin was pre-maturely leaked on a Chinese portal site named Baidu, causing some distress for her label, Star Empire Entertainment.

The photo snapped Erin in a see-through blouse and a white bikini, which on its own is raising some eyebrows for its sexy look. But the most surprising aspect about the picture is that it hasn’t gone through any editing. Representatives said, “We really paid attention to showing the girls’ physical and musical growth. We’re upset that the first teaser has already been leaked just after their teaser was released.”

They continued, “The leaked picture has not gone through any editing. We wanted to show you a better image, but unfortunately this turnout of events revealed it first. Erin is the most glamorous member of the group, so she took on a more provocative concept, which worries us greatly – especially since it’s not edited. We know that it was leaked through a Chinese site, but we’re trying to figure out the finer details. We will make sure that the rest of the pictures aren’t leaked.”

Concluding, they added, “We will make sure that it doesn’t happen again. We apologize to our fans for concerning them with this issue, but please continue to show your interest in Nine Muses’ return.”

Nine Muses will be releasing their second teaser on August 16th, followed by the official release on the 18th before they begin their comeback promotions.

U-BOMB SWAGZ, IT'S OFFICIAL AND I'M FOREVER SHIPPIN' IT.

Mobile download provider Recochoku has recently revealed the most popular K-Pop groups after a survey held in Japan. A total of 4,471 users participated in the survey and the result has been revealed as follow:

1st – Kara
2nd – SNSD
3rd – FT Island
4th – Big Bang
5th – BEAST

While the male idol groups BEAST, BIGBANG and FTISLAND are ranking fifth to third, it is the girls holding the top positions.

Girl's Generation ranks second, being admired especially by young girls in their teens for "their beauty, their pretty legs, their pretty voices".

However, the pull position is held by KARA, whose members are admired mostly by boys. It is their "dance style that is easy to remembers" and "cuteness of the dances". Certain, the "hip dance" and the "penguin dance" have certainly left an impression, but the girls are also admired for their individual characters, especially by teen girls.

It seems that this race is won by the females artists and the boys need to work a bit harder to, although K-Pop in general is still on the go and nothing seems to be able to stop it.

No surprises there, except maybe Shinee oppars but I'll leave that to you lot to debate it out. No pictures with this.

Big Bang’s T.O.P goes blonde

On the night of August 11th, the GD&TOP duo attended the “d Summer Night Party”. The event was a night in celebration of the first year anniversary for the Korean beer company, Dry Finish d’s.

In the above photo you can view G-Dragon’s expected flashy, fashionista style. His ensemble composed of a shining silver jacket over a white tee on top, red belt on ripped faded jeans on bottom, plus sparkling black kicks, round shades, a black beanie, a white phone case on his belt and a silver chain to top it all off. Not to mention his aforementioned shaved head, but what caught the most attention above all was T.O.P’s new hair color.

His hairstyle was recently dyed blonde and is reminiscent of fashion doll Barbie’s sugar daddy, Ken.

What do you think about the his new blonde hair?

DJ Koo from the group CLON is set to release a new remix album later this week titled "Come Back REMIX." The title song "Come Back" is originally from CLON's 4th album "Funky Together," and has been recreated by DJ Koo himself for his album.

DJ Koo's original mix of "Come Back" features Park Minkyung as the vocal. The music video teaser first shows someone tying their shoes and then waiting outside in the middle of the street at night.

The scene changes, with only the person's feet still in view, in the inside of a club. DJ Koo can then be seen at the helm of the DJ table as people in the club cheered for him.

Are you looking forward to his mix of CLON's "Come Back"?

As we’ve previously reported, artist Brian Joo is currently working on the Korean production of musical Rent. The production is slated to open on the 28th of August at the Changmu Art Hall’s Grand Theater in Seoul. Rehearsals for the production have been in full swing since late July. Since the rehearsals began, the production has been getting a lot of media attention in Korea. Recently PlayDB Korea posted a three-minute video for interested fans, showing how well the practices are going.

What do you think of the video? Are you looking forward to hearing more about the performance?

With K-pop groups like the Wonder Girls on the ascent — and sitting front row at the Chloé show in Shanghai — it’s clear that Korean pop is having a moment. But is there a Korean underground? According to Sean Patrick Maylone, the answer is yes. His Seoul-based booking and promotion agency, SuperColorSuper, has helped to create a South Korean tour circuit for indie bands like Caribou, Das Racist and CocoRosie, blazing a trail not just to Seoul, but also to Busan and Daegu, places the 30-year-old native Californian knew nothing about when he arrived in Korea to teach English four years ago. Here, Maylone discusses South Korea’s burgeoning underground music scene.

Q.

Indie bands have long played Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing. Why has it taken so long for South Korea to become a tour stop?

A.

That’s basically what I asked myself when I first started doing this. There’s a lot of money here. People spend it on iPhones and entertainment and gadgets. Getting bands here shouldn’t be so hard. I mean, we’re right next to Tokyo, which has what seems like 60,000 shows every night. I don’t know the cause of the oversight, but all of my work is aimed at trying to correct it.

Seoul is a very new city. Is it lacking the dilapidated infrastructure that often gives great underground venues their character?

That sort of character develops organically. When you think of San Francisco, you picture those hilly streets and Victorian houses. When you think of Mexico City, you think of layers of villas. When you think of Tokyo, you think of “Blade Runner” and layers of neon. Right now we’re waiting to see what the archetypical aesthetic of Seoul will be, how it will reveal itself to the world.

SNSD has revealed that they will be making an official Korean comeback with a third official album next month!

While taking part in the Hallyu wave over in Japan, the girls have been secretly working on their third album recordings. They’ve been balancing out a proper release date, and finally decided to go ahead with September.

A representative revealed, “SNSD mentioned that they would be making their comeback this fall, but they’ve recently confirmed September as their comeback month. They’re still in the middle of recording, so they could adjust the date by a week or two.”

Fans will also be excited to hear that it won’t be a mini-album or a digital single, but a full fledged official album, their first in nearly a year and eight months.

Other entertainment labels are currently delaying comebacks and debuts in order to avoid competition with SNSD. One representative said, “All of the attention will be put on SNSD anyway, so it’s useless to go head-to-head. On top of that, it’s an official album, so there’s the possibility that they will just sweep the charts.”

The apartments on 165th St. in Flushing (l.) and Parsons Blvd. in Whitestone are two Choi family residences a lawyer for Oak-Jin Oh said her client was coerced to work at with no pay.

A 60-year-old Korean immigrant has accused one northeast Queens family of enslaving her for a period of more than 12 years, forcing her to work as a housekeeper without pay at the family’s homes in Little Neck, Bayside, Flushing, Whitestone and Elmhurst.

According to a lawsuit filed in federal court in Manhattan last week, Oak-Jin Oh claims she was living in South Korea in January 1998 when she met U.S. citizen Soo Bok Choi through an employment agency.

One of the most bizarre concepts ever taken up by a girl group will be making its debut this month in the form of a ‘D-cup’ group named Swing Girls.

On August 19th, a five-member girl group averaging 170 cm in height and all owning D-cup breasts will be making their debut, ready to set ablaze the hearts of men.

The girls revealed, “We joined our company after we saw a notice saying they’re looking for tall singers. Once all of the members came together, we all averaged 170 cm in height, and all had D-cup breasts as well. We’ll be using that as our differentiating factor, and thus debut with our sexiness.”

With ’sexiness’ as their main weapon of choice, the girls boasted a variety of experiences, such as taking part in modeling competitions and even competing for a Miss Korea pageant.

Their point choreography will be one they named themselves called the ‘heartache dance’. The ladies are also playing up to the romantic fantasies of men with a ’stewardess look’ to capture their hearts.

Swing Girls said, “We were afraid we might look like we’re cosplaying, but we like the outfits. They’re both mature and sexy and leave us a lot of room to express ourselves on stage.”
