Your most popular unnir/oppar groups in Japan \o/

Mobile download provider Recochoku has recently revealed the most popular K-Pop groups after a survey held in Japan. A total of 4,471 users participated in the survey and the result has been revealed as follow:

1st – Kara
2nd – SNSD
3rd – FT Island
4th – Big Bang
5th – BEAST

While the male idol groups BEAST, BIGBANG and FTISLAND are ranking fifth to third, it is the girls holding the top positions.

Girl's Generation ranks second, being admired especially by young girls in their teens for "their beauty, their pretty legs, their pretty voices".

However, the pull position is held by KARA, whose members are admired mostly by boys. It is their "dance style that is easy to remembers" and "cuteness of the dances". Certain, the "hip dance" and the "penguin dance" have certainly left an impression, but the girls are also admired for their individual characters, especially by teen girls.

It seems that this race is won by the females artists and the boys need to work a bit harder to, although K-Pop in general is still on the go and nothing seems to be able to stop it.

No surprises there, except maybe Shinee oppars but I'll leave that to you lot to debate it out. No pictures with this.

Kinda surprised that BB was that high as in my opinion as long as GD&TOP don't give a fuck about Japan BB won't ever become popular there. I think both of them are really stupid in this aspect as even outside BB, I have a feeling that GD's solo stuff could be huge there (and he wouldn't have to worry about censorship and could go all out in visual kei stuff), while TOP's acting career would definitely benefit from knowing Japanese at least so much that he could do fan meetings and stuff without translators there even if he only acted in Korean dramas and movies.

I always thought BB wasn't really popular in Japan because of how lazy some of their members are about Japanese promotions (hey there GTOP). But oddly enough I was told by my friend who lived in Japan that everyone he seems to know adores them. He teaches English at cram schools/high school and says that all the students stan either BB, Kara or SNSD. And that this co-workers and friends like to karaoke to them. He says that they like BB's pop as it is different from regular jpop.

It's interesting how perspectives change.

Shinee only has released one Japanese single, thus they don't quite belong here yet as they are new. Beast has been in Japan a little longer and also just released their first "album".

Tohoshinki isn't really viewed as a kpop group anyways. They never touted it.
