B2ST’s Kikwang
recently shared his thoughts on the individual activities of members and the popularity differences within the group!

On June 17th, Kikwang met with reporters to reveal his thoughts on the end of their 1st album promotions, and his reflections on their entrance into the Japanese music industry.

B2ST’s first full-length album, “Fiction“, has staked their claim among the top male idols, as they swept first place on both public and cable networks, and from there, casting calls from variety shows have become an endless list of requests.

in my opinion, the members of Beast are old enough to know not to get overly jealous of the others' popularity, and that more than anything, the members with more schedules than the others need more support than conflict. can you say 2 hours of sleep?

I put the Eluphant tag, but not sure it will work, I don't believe there is an existing tag. Also, sadly Doojoon himself is not in the video (much like how Min was not in San E's "Tasty San" MV).

Earlier this month we reported on Mnet's ranking of the top 20 idol dancers, focusing on their smooth moves and strong dancing abilities. However, Mnet's most recent ranking focuses on an entirely different aspect of our favorite idols.

On June 16, Mnet revealed its rankings for the top 20 "idols from Mars" based on their personalities that are so interesting and unique that they could very well be from another planet.

Wasn't sure how I should tag it so I just tagged all the groups mentioned, you can see the videos for the others at the source.

Kind of surprised by the order, would have expected Jo Kwon and Onew to be much higher on the list.
and out of everyone left in Super Junior, they choose Siwon?

A passenger plane had a lucky escape after South Korean troops fired at it thinking it was a North Korean military jet.

Two marine corps soldiers spotted the plane - owned by a South Korean airline - flying close to the sea border with North Korea at 4am Friday morning.

The soldiers, both said to be 18, fired their rifles at the low-flying jet for 10 minutes but luckily the plane was out of their gun range.

The Asiana Airlines flight from China, carrying 119 passengers and crew, was making its descent to Incheon Airport in Seoul at the time.

Luckily the plane was flying out of range of the marine's machine guns

The soldiers believed the plane was flying outside the normal flight path but the airline said the plane never veered of course.

An Asiana Airlines official said: "We checked yesterday through the air force and the airport control centre to make sure there were no abnormalities such as being off course."

According to local reports, marine corps officers will now undergo thorough training on identifying civilian aircraft.

Another round has begun in the K-Pop/Korean Wave debate. The “idol” training system is once again appearing alongside the achievements of the so-called "post-Korean Wave" as a problematic topic of discussion. As is well known, K-Pop, as represented by “idols,” is the product of a very particular star system. Most characteristic of this is an education and training system that has been referred to as the “apprenticeship system” or “academy.” Based on this system, entertainment companies have overseen and controlled all areas and processes from planning and production to management. This bears a connection with the immense and complex organizations that companies have become compared to the past, as well as their adoption of a “one source, multi-use” strategy.

As a result, the training subjects have expanded and differentiated over time. In addition to singing and dancing, language studies have become an essential, along with personal skills such as acting talent and an entertainment sense, and adjustment of physical appearance. Apprentices are selected at a young age and subjected to a long and arduous training process.

The Korean entertainment industry continues to be bombarded with issues like the ’spread leg dance’, which drew criticisms over inappropriate choreography for underaged artists.

It inspired the Fair Trade Commission to announce on June 17th that revisions would be made to standardize certain clauses in entertainment contracts.

Going forward, entertainment agencies must guarantee the protection of basic rights for their teenage artists. This will be done through the 18th Amendment, which established three new clauses:

The first clause makes it mandatory for entertainment agencies to protect the physical and psychological health of their artists, their right to education, their personal rights, their right to sleep and rest, and their right to freedom of choice.

The second clause prohibits entertainment agencies from asking their underage artists to dress in revealing clothing and dance provocative choreography for the purpose of attracting attention.

The third clause prohibits entertainment agencies from forcing their artists to work for an excessive amount of hours. The FTC explained that the amendment was a reflection of the opinions of the Celebrity Entertainment Management Association, the Korea Entertainment Producer’s Association, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

B2ST has been named the strongest competitor for Big Bang and 2PM thanks to their recent streak of success, but the boys themselves don’t think so.

In an interview with E Daily, the members of B2ST opened up about their competition and the direction of their career. The boys began, “We’ve been really happy lately, and have even begun wondering whether we’ve ever received such love since our debut.”

On 2PM and Big Bang, they revealed, “A lot of people compare us to Big Bang and 2PM and say that we’re at the height of our fame. Although we feel good hearing that, it’s also scary. We honestly think that it’s too early for us to hear such praise.”

They continued, If we’re already at the height of our fame, then there’s no way to go but down. We still think we have a long road left and promise to work hard at everything as if it was our first time.

B2ST will also be going on an Asian tour soon after their Japanese promotions. Countries include Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and China.

Cube Entertainment said, “Due to the requests made by fans in each country, we’ve decided to create a fan-meeting. Fans can consider it a tour concert in style.”

i don`t really mind the comparing because it`s not like they`re saying Beast is being overshadowed by BB and 2PM, i used to say that it was awesome Beast was like a combo of BB (with their music) and 2PM (with their image~ sort of) XD
humble b2st is humble! and personally, i think they can still make it farther up that fame ladder!

We recently reported on the graduation of After School's Bekah. Bekah will be graduating on July 1st before returning to Hawaii. She will be the first After School member to officially graduate from the group.

After School will not be one member short for long, however, as Avex Entertainment in Japan is planning on holding auditions to recruit a Japanese member into the group.

Not much information has been disclosed regarding the details of the auditions, nor have the auditions been officially announced by Pledis Entertainment. However, the auditions would not come as a complete surprise considering After School will have their Japanese debut in August with the Japanese release of "Bang!" After having partnered with After School for their Japanese debut, Avex appears to be starting to take more control over the group's future activities.

What do you think about the possibility of a Japanese member in After School?

The second sub unit is call AFTER SCHOOL ORIGINALS.

This sub unit will consist of: Kahi, Jungah, Jooyeon, Raina and Nana.

The first mini album will be released in either September or October. They re-recorded the songs they already had – - Nana will take over Bekah parts in rapping. They should have promotional activities in South Korea since it will be a mini album.

There will be two title songs and they were all recorded without Bekah. One is hiphop, and the other one is a softer kind of track. There will be three MVs. Bekah’s solo song will be a digital single. (May be included on the mini album)

However it’s all not confirmed.

Rumor is that Bekah was going to be part of this subunit but that AVEX pressured Pledis to drop Bekah... they recorded without  Bekah the Namie Amuro collaboration and some did some photoshoots...

Ughhh Nana and Raina should not be in this subunit... Raina is gonna get Jungah's lines again...

After completing their SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR in PARIS concert series, Korean girl group Shoujo Jidai (SNSD) flew to Japan to complete their “1st Japan Arena Tour” this week.

On top of the countless Japanese fans that gathered to see the nine-member group perform live, eight members of AKB48 were revealed to have attended the concert as well.

Fans reported seeing Atsuko Maeda and Tomomi Itano in the crowd. Furthermore, Matsubara Natsumi blogged about the concert, complimenting the girls’ performances and appearances.

The idol reflected,

I went to see them live!!!

Their styles are too good ~( ̄□ ̄;)!!

They’re cute, their dance and songs are good…

Amazing!!!!!

I thought about doing my best diet.

Suddenly, I can’t even stretch my legs.
