B2ST talks about being compared to 2PM & Big Bang

B2ST has been named the strongest competitor for Big Bang and 2PM thanks to their recent streak of success, but the boys themselves don’t think so.

In an interview with E Daily, the members of B2ST opened up about their competition and the direction of their career. The boys began, “We’ve been really happy lately, and have even begun wondering whether we’ve ever received such love since our debut.”

On 2PM and Big Bang, they revealed, “A lot of people compare us to Big Bang and 2PM and say that we’re at the height of our fame. Although we feel good hearing that, it’s also scary. We honestly think that it’s too early for us to hear such praise.”

They continued, “If we’re already at the height of our fame, then there’s no way to go but down. We still think we have a long road left and promise to work hard at everything as if it was our first time.”

B2ST will also be going on an Asian tour soon after their Japanese promotions. Countries include Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and China.

Cube Entertainment said, “Due to the requests made by fans in each country, we’ve decided to create a fan-meeting. Fans can consider it a tour concert in style.”

i don`t really mind the comparing because it`s not like they`re saying Beast is being overshadowed by BB and 2PM, i used to say that it was awesome Beast was like a combo of BB (with their music) and 2PM (with their image~ sort of) XD
humble b2st is humble! and personally, i think they can still make it farther up that fame ladder!

I did get BB and 2PM vibes from them at first but they've developed their own persona since then. They can definitely hold their own on stage.

Yeah, I don't think their style or music is anything like either Big Bang or 2PM really, so comparisons are kind of pointless. They have their own thing now and it's great to see that they're getting better and better and developing on their own unique style with each release.

I'm not saying this as a B2UTY, but they've actually never given me Big Bang/2PM vibes. Never.
The only connection between them really is Doojoon meaning to be in 2PM and Hyunseung meaning to be in Big Bang.

Eh, Beast becomes more and more perfect every day. Just when you think they couldn't get anymore perfect, they do the impossible. I'm proud of them, and they'll just keep on going further.

from the time i became their fan, i've seen them get better and better through each comeback. i don't think that i've ever been disappointed with what they've come out with every single time. and i know that they will work hard to continue doing that.

tbh when they came out it was very obvious that they and MBLAQ were capitalizing on the void left by 2PM and to a lesser extent Big Bang, but even though I don't like them, I think they've more than proven themselves to be their own group.

IA. They're obviously their own group now. But when they first came out it was hard to not see them as another 2PM and in certain cases, Big Bang, in terms of music styles for the latter and image/overall aura for the former.

Yup. Even their name. 2PM were well known as the 'beastly idols". I can't blame them though. It was a logical marketing move at the time.

my Hottest pride is very hurt to admit this, but
musically, Beast has outgrown 2PM. considering 2PM debuted a whole year earlier...B2ST really focused on their music.

so yeah, i love how they not only got through the comparison phase, but rose above it.

lol yeah that's JYP for you. imo they spent so much time focusing on garnering sympathy post Jay and fell into a rut with their sad sack music that they neglected the fact that a really important aspect of being in a band is making songs and advancing musically.

Hopefully their new album will be good though, especially since the members are having more input in the music. I hope they will show or find a new sound that still fits them. And also being idols, music isn't even as important as image and 2PM still leaves a better impression as a group than Beast does for me personally.

I've never really liked them and their stans are generally obnoxious to me, but I agree with everyone here in that they are their own group. I think they tried to be 2PM at first but they're definitely different now.

Half the group were JYPE and YGE trainees, so I can see why they'd have 2PM and BB vibes when they first came out. Thats what they were trained to do. But they've worked on making their own mark, and done a good job of it.

I've never gotten a 2PM or Big Bang vibe from them. Gathering from this article it seems like they're also saying that 2PM and Big Bang are similar as well? But I don't think that at all. All three groups have huge differences. The only similarities I see between Beast and Big Bang is they're both willing to try different styles of music. 2PM kinda sticks with the same stuff imo.

I'm glad they're keen not to jump on the bandwagon of being like others. I love them for who they are and I think they have worked hard to develop themselves musically and in other ways which is one of the things I love about them. It's great to see that they have the desire to do even better and yet remain so thankful for the support they have garnered already.

If anyone's actually listened to the three groups music they'd know they're nothing even close to being alike, but you know how it is, people see a boy group debut and automatically assume they must be copying their fave precious oppas. Block B is dealing with the same stupid shit.
