As previously reported, Koreaboo will be extensively covering the North American leg of JYJ's World Tour which kicks off on the 20th with the Vancouver show. Before the group heads to Vancouver, they held a special press conference with some of the media in North America.
The conference was held at the Grammy Museum portion of Los Angeles' LA LIVE! Entertainment Complex. The 200-seat Clive Davis theater played host to the media and JYJ, offering an intimate setting for JYJ's first official press conference on US soil.
POWERHOUSE co-founder C.S. Hah was the host of the event and introduced the group to a warm reaction. As Yoochun is currently filming abroad, only Jaejoong and Junsu were present for it.
The 30-minute conference was done in Korean, with Hah translating for both the audience and JYJ during the Q&A. Both members were happy to be there and responded to questions with warm smiles and laughter over the course of the conference,
As this was a Q&A, Koreaboo was able to ask the members a question, which was regarding whether or not there would be a DVD release of the concerts to commemorate the World Tour. Jaejoong was pleased to announce that while there was no set date for a release, a DVD was definitely in the works, and to stay tuned.

The body of the 58-year-old man surnamed Kim was found on May 1 on a wooden cross in an abandoned quarry in the central city of Mungyeong, with nails protruding through holes in his hands and feet.
He was wearing only underpants and a crown of thorns. He had a stab wound on his right waist and several whip marks in an apparent reconstruction of Christ's death.
Police said earlier Kim was thought to have died over the Easter weekend from April 22 to 24, but the body was not found for more than a week. They had been investigating whether he killed himself or had assistance.
Forensic experts reconstructed the death based on notes found at the scene describing how to carry out a crucifixion, local police said, adding the handwriting matched Kim's.
"We confirmed, through two rounds of simulation, that it was possible to stage the crucifixion alone," police said in a statement.
They said Kim, standing on a small footrest on the cross, nailed his feet to the cross. He lashed his neck and chest before stabbing himself in the waist and piercing his hands with a power drill.
Kim then apparently slipped his pierced hands over nails on the cross.
"We believe that deep religious faith made it possible to carry out the series of extraordinary actions involving extreme pain," police said, adding Kim died of suffocation and blood loss.
South Korea has 8.6 million Protestants, 5.1 million Catholics and around 10 million Buddhists in its population of about 49 million, according to official figures.

An extra K-pop concert slated for June 11 in Paris sold out in 10 minutes.
“The June 11 concert to be held at Le Zenith de Paris sold all its tickets in 10 minutes after reservations were opened,” SM Entertainment said.
SM Entertainment originally planned the K-pop concert on June 10 but the tickets were sold out in 15 minutes.

A new girl group called Swincle will be debuting with "Shake Ur Body" next week. They were initially planning to debut in March, but due unforeseen circumstances, Kant Entertainment decide to delay their debut.
Having been trained intensely for the last two years in singing and dancing, Swincle is comprised of rapper Mika (21), Jihee (19), main vocal Songhee (22), leader Jisoo (20), and vocal Haeran (21). It is said that they all have unique personalities, ranging from cute to confident.
Swincle’s leader, Jisoo, was reportedly a trainee for DSP entertainment and has had training to debut as a Rainbow member.
Swincle will be releasing their first mini album and music video on May 25th. They will start promotions on next week's M! Countdown and Music Bank.

On May 17th at the KT &G Sang sang Art hall "Hedwig" press call was held. The 4 actors who will play "Hedwig": Kim Dong Wan, Kim Jae Wook, Choi Jae Woong and Jo Jeong Seok took the stage transformed as the blonde transgender.

On May 16th, KBS 2TV held a press conference for new show "Immortal Song 2" in Seoul. Idols in attendance included IU, BEAST's Yoseob, 2AM's Changmin, Super Junior's Yesung, SHINee's Jonghyun, and SISTAR's Hyorin, all of whom will participate in the program. During the conference, IU expressed her nervousness about the show and praised the vocal abilities of Jonghyun and her close friend, f(x)'s Luna.
"I'm really nervous. I'm glad that I'll probably have the opportunity to get closer to other idols whom I usually just greet in passing," she said. She later added, "I feel honored to be able to sing great songs and perform with other fellow idols. Yet, I'm also worried about messing up my seniors' songs. I will work hard in order to not tarnish the image of my seniors."
When asked by a reporter which idol IU would recommend to perform on the show, she answered, "Personally, I wish Luna could appear on the show with me since she's a friend of mine whom I have a lot to learn from. It would be fun if we could sing together on the show." When asked to recommend a male singer, she said, "Honestly, during the interview previously, I recommended SHINee's Jonghyun for the show because personally, I really like his voice. I didn't know SHINee's Jonghyun would be coming today, but he did." She added that she came to appreciate Jonghyun's voice through "Please, Don't Go", a ballad he recorded with group mate Onew for SHINee's "Romeo" mini-album. Jonghyun replaced Miss A's Min on the show after she dropped out due to album preparations.
In response to IU's praise, he said, "Honestly, I wish IU wasn't on the show, because she's really good at singing. Clearly she's going to emerge as the winner. IU is also a vocalist I personally like very much. With one less rival on the show with such outstanding abilities, I was thinking to myself that I might have a higher chance of coming in first."
"Immortal Song 2" began taping the day of the press conference and will begin airing on June 4th. It features young, talented idol singers competing against one another and covering songs from their seniors in the industry.

Rainbow’s Go Woori has been cast for the movie “You’re My Pet” as a minor character alongside lead role Jang Geun Suk.
“You’re My Pet” is the Korean remake of the Japanese manga, “Kimi wa Petto“, by Ogawa Yayoi. Actress Kim Ha Neul will be playing the role of ‘Ji Eun’, a beautiful, smart, and talented woman who’s revered by society but has trouble fitting in with her peers.
Jang Geun Suk, who will be playing a classic ballerino named ‘Inho’, befriends her.
As for Woori, she’ll be playing Jang Geun Suk’s ex-girlfriend, ‘Lee Min Sun’, and will begin filming by the end of this month.
Representatives of DSP Media stated, “Woori’s role is small, but her character is important for the overall story. Because of her ‘Black Swan’ performance in the ‘To Me’ music video, she’s been receiving offers from various movies and dramas.”

Seo Taiji’s representatives have revealed that there has been no agreement with Lee Ji Ah.
Lee Ji Ah’s lawsuit against her ex-husband, singer Seo Taiji, with regards to the division of their property has not yet been resolved.
According to the Seoul Family Court, on April 30th, Lee Ji Ah withdrew her lawsuit against her ex-husband. However, on May 17th, Seo Taiji’s lawyers submitted their opposition to the Supreme Court.
Seo Taiji’s representatives revealed, “Lee Ji Ah’s representatives sued without warning and withdrew on their own. Thus, it has ruled out all possibilities for the incident to revive. It has been decided that the incident’s truth needs to be checked. Because the truth needs to be checked above all, we decided to place it in the hands of the court. So we have submitted our position.”
Seeing as they haven’t been unable to agree to a settlement, Seo Taiji has submitted his statements on May 17th. Seo Taiji and Lee Ji Ah will be having their third proceedings on May 23rd.

T-ara’s Hyomin was recently seen being very playful with a microphone stand.
On May 17th, Hyomin wrote on her Twitter, “Since the streets are dangerous at night, I will fly to the practice room” and uploaded various funny photos of herself.
In the first picture, Hyomin is seen looking calm while walking in the dark dangerous streets and sipping on a drink. However, in the following pictures, Hyomin grabs a microphone stand and à la the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz, she pretends as if she flew to the practice room using the stand (instead of a broom stick).

The expensive outfits for 2NE1’s “Lonely” music video has generated a ton of conversation recently and for good reason!
The clothes worn in their latest music video are pieces from the French brand “Balmain“, which was launched in 1945 by French designer Pierre Balmain. In 2006, Christophe Decarnin became the director, and for the past few years, Balmain has become a hot trend in the fashion world.
Musicians such as Kanye West, Madonna, Beyonce, and Rihanna have worn items from their line. Currently, Balmain is one of the most expensive high-end brands.
They have also been chosen as Big Bang and 2NE1’s favorite brands for their one-of-a-kind art-like designs and their exceptional details.
A representative said:
“Not only is it expensive, but it is a designer label that rarely provides wardrobe to celebrities. Occasionally, fashionable actors receive sponsored pieces for special award ceremony-like events, but favorably, 2NE1 has been the only singers to receive sponsored pieces for the past few years.“
The total cost of 2NE1’s wardrobe for their “Lonely” music video comes out to about 200 million won (~$183,800 USD), but the production costs of the music came in lower at 150 million won (~$137,800 USD). Therefore, the wardrobe for the music video actually exceeded the production costs for the music!
This type of dedication to their outfits is nothing new though, as Park Bom previously received much attention for the $20,000 Alexander McQueen dress in her “Don’t Cry” music video.

4minute’s Sohyun caught netizens’ attention by revealing the birthday gifts that fellow member Gayoon received from fans. Gayoon turns 22 years old in Korea on May 18th.
On May 17th, Sohyun uploaded the picture and tweeted, “Proof shot supporting our Gayoon unni’s birthday. Because Gayoon unni doesn’t have a Twitter, she is unable to upload a proof shot, so I am uploading it instead. Gayoon unni says thank you. No matter what anyone says, 4nia are awesome!”
