Brian Joo is getting quite a bit of attention for unveiling a picture of him sobbing while wearing a mask that covers half his face a la Phantom of the Opera.

The picture is reportedly one of the concept pictures for his new mini album, which is going to be released on April 7th. Unlike his usual bright image, the singer seems to be sobbing hard.

Netizens commented, “After staring at the photo for a long time, I finally noticed it was Brian”, “This is so different from what you’ve showed us before”, and “I wonder what concept this is.”

His agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, stated, “We wanted to show that Brian has other sides to him apart from his bright image, such as feeling sadness and pain. You’ll be able to see more sides to Brian through his new album and music video.”

Brian will reveal a teaser on April 1st for his new music video.

Chan’s event ‘Artistes 311 Love Beyond Borders’ is an Asian charity event to help victims of JYP and the Wonder Girls are representing Korea at a charity event sponsored by Jackie Chan.

Chan’s event ‘Artistes 311 Love Beyond Borders’ is an Asian charity event to help victims of the Japanese earthquake. The event is scheduled to be held on April 1st at 7pm at the Victoria Park. As a marathon concert featuring Asia’s top stars, all of the proceeds will go to Japan relief.

30 star teams from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia , Korea, and Japan are expected to attend the event; JYP and Wonder Girls will join China’s top class artists including Jackie Chan.

JYP and the Wonder Girls were personally invited by Jackie Chan; the Korean stars will be performing ‘Smile Again’ that they introduced back for the I Love Asia Project in 2008.

A JYP Entertainment staff member stated, “Jackie Chan joined us for the ‘I Love Asia’ event for earthquake victims in Sichuan in 2008… we decided to take part in the event to express our sorrow for everyone effected by the earthquake in Japan.”

Both JYP and Wonder Girls left for Hong Kong on the evening of 31st.

2NE1’ssong “GO AWAY” has become the new theme song to Fuji Television’s “Mezamashi News”!

The Korean girl group had previously released the Japanese version of their hit song “GO AWAY” as a ringtone, but now fans of 2NE1 can hear the song on television despite the indefinite postponement of their Japanese debut. The early morning news shows will begin using the song during its broadcast on April 1st, 4:00 AM JST. If you can recall, Mezamashi News previously used Big Bang’s, “HAND’S UP” as a theme song for the show.

Actress Hong Soo Ah will be performing as the honorary eighth member of girl group CHI CHI once again! The labelmates will be performing for the 2011 opening game between the Doosan Bears and LG Twins.

A representative of Doosan commented, “Hong Soo Ah is the Doosan Bears’ honorary starting pitcher, and has helped publicize professional baseball more than anyone else. While planning special events for our fans in celebration of our 30th anniversary, we decided that it’d be fun to bring in Hong Soo Ah and rookie girl group, CHI CHI.”

It looks like actor Lee Jang Woo has fully embraced his role as Eunjung’s husband!

A representative of Lee’s agency, Made-M, revealed: “After the first shoot, it seems that Lee Jang Woo’s heart is a-flutter. Even though it was a long recording, he didn’t get tired and enjoyed his time. He is still glowing.”

The representative continued, “From the first filming, he seems to have gotten very close with his ‘virtual bride’, Ham Eunjung. He already speaks informally with her. However, they have not exchanged phone numbers yet.”

Interestingly enough, it was discovered that Lee Jang Woo’s manager went to great lengths to make sure Lee Jang Woo didn’t find out the identity of his ‘wife’. The first episode for all new couples requires them to be oblivious of their future partner’s identity. Thus, the manager forced Lee to hand over his cell phone so that he wouldn’t find out who would be his ‘bride’.

A We Got Married Post/Update

Omona! Yes, you read that correctly, [as previously posted] EunJung will be getting married on MBC’s We Got Married (WGM) by the end of this month! She and her “husband” will be replacing the Goguma (Sweet Potato) Couple, following the departure of CN Blue’s leader, Jung YongHwa and SNSD’s maknae, SeoHyun from the show.



On March 30th, singer Kim Jung Min (one of the MCs for WGM) tweeted that he was moved to tears while watching the last episode for the Goguma Couple on the show. He was also touched when SeoHyun personally came into the studio later that day, to give her thanks to the show’s crew members. So, for fans of WGM, do remember to catch the last episode of the Goguma Couple this weekend! It will definitely be a bittersweet ending for this make-believe coupling.

Following that, T-ara’s Ham Eunjung will be joining the We Got Married series together with actor, Lee Jang Woo. For those of you who do not know of Lee Jang Woo, he was a member of the SM project group, 24/7 with Hyun Woo (currently Music Bank’s MC) as well as another former member of Trax and SM actor, Noh Min Woo, back in 2009. He is currently in the drama Useora Donghaeya (Smile, DongHae).



Meanwhile, Korea’s most popular badminton player, Lee Yong Dae* will also be making a surprise appearance on WGM with f(x)’s Sulli in an upcoming episode for the Khuntoria couple, to be aired at the end of April. Eye-witnesses claimed that the couple together with their special guests were spotted filming in Dongdaemun and having an enjoyable time together. This was also backed by a tweet from Judo athlete, Wang Ki Chun on March 29th. [Sounds like a double date to me.]
