The last line from my previous A-Nation 2010 Fan Account:
Now I need to find a way to get to SMTown. I haven't cheered for my biases in AGES. T_T

OMG I MADE IT TO SM TOWN.

So, my first post at omona if this gets through. I just got back from Tokyo and here's my fan account for SM Town Tokyo 25th January 2011!

Before I start, I would like to apologize for my tendency to ramble on and burst into flailage and squealing. X_x Also, forgive me for the major HoMin bias. I love all SM artists but HoMin(and JYJ) own my heart, mind and soul (lol overdramatic-ness). Anyway let's begin my long rambly tale:

Well, looks like that potential extension is not happening for Dream High, which was considering adding one episode to its planned 16 in order to even out the broadcasting schedule (one episode was pre-empted this week due to the Asia Cup).

Instead, the drama will produce a special episode that will air after the finale, Episode 16. The details are currently being worked out, but we can probably expect typical special-broadcast content: behind-the-scenes clips, interviews, and NGs. However, a KBS rep states that they’re aiming to set it apart from other specials by fiddling with the format, perhaps incorporating a concert element to suit the drama’s story.

It’s too bad for KBS, who’d been interested in further extensions, with Dream High pulling in 15%+ ratings and leading in its Monday-Tuesday timeslot. But producing more episodes was deemed unrealistic, hence the special.

While I’d say that having a month would have been enough time to plan another episode’s worth of content, the issue here is more about the busy schedules of its idol cast, who have had to juggle their two hats while filming the show. Many idols take time off from singer duties while shooting dramas, but they’ll have filled their schedules to pick up immediately after the drama ends. I imagine that rescheduling for all those idols (with multiple groups involved) would be a logistical nightmare.

Oh, well. I didn’t expect that the extension would go through, and I’m fine with the drama ending with 16. The special will air on March 1, and Crime Squad premieres the following week.

On January 25 and 26, 2011, "SM TOWN" had their world tour at Tokyo's National Yoyogi Stadium.

This time, DBSK showed that they were going strong. Groups like SHINee and SNSD have gotten attention as the "New Faces" on the Japanese stage.

Even though SHINee hasn't debuted officilly in Japan yet, you could see that they already have a lot of fans. SNSD has a lot of female fans who want to be like them.

A person close to SM Entertainment stated that in ticket sales alone for these 2 performances, SM has potentially earned around 300 million yen (~3.6 million USD). The price of the tickets were 12,800 yen (~154 USD) and all 12,000 seats were sold out during each performance. The shirts, clothing, albums and character goods are also expected to have sold well.

They claim these performances were a "preliminary performance" to April's Tokyo Dome performances. Simply, just in ticket sales for the Tokyo Dome performance, 100,000 people should attend and that would make SM earn more than 1 billion yen (~12 million USD).

On January 27th, SS501’s Park Jung Min made a guest appearance on Mnet’s “Beatles Code“, through which he not only revealed some pre-debut photos, but he also shared a shocking pre-debut story as well.
He began, “I was scouted by an agency in the middle of the street when I was 13 years old. At the time, I was casted into both DSP Media and SM Entertainment.

He continued, “I had to choose between one or the other.  At the time, SM told me that they were preparing a new group, but that the group consisted of many members. Thinking about it now, it was probably Super Junior. I saw them rehearsing, too.”

When asked why he chose DSP Media over SM Entertainment, Park Jung Min answered, “I thought about wanting to see myself on TV and believed that I’d be able to debut faster through DSP Media, which was what influenced my decision.”
He then revealed various pictures from his pre-debut days. MC Yoon Jong Shin quickly spotted a CF Park Jung Min had done for condoms. He asked, ”Are you not embarrassed seeing it now?”

Park Jung Min confidently replied, “Not at all. It was an advertisement advocating a message of safe sex. I’m actually satisfied.”

Eight percent of female teenagers have attempted to kill themselves, a survey showed Thursday. Nearly 30 percent of female teenagers have at least once thought of committing suicide, according to a survey of 69,754 middle and high school students by the Ministry of Gender, Equality and Family.

The percentage for male students was lower — 5.5 percent answered they have tried to kill themselves and 16.4 percent said they have considered suicide over the last year.

Girls were more prone to suicide and other harmful actions due to a broken family, financial problems and violence at school, as 18.3 percent of female students complained of this, compared with 14.7 percent of boys.

Nearly eight in 100 teenage girls said they have been sexually assaulted over the past year.

JYJ: Being banned has encouraged us to be creative

In the midst of what can only be put lightly as a mountain of obstacles, JYJ is putting their best foot forward and unintentionally kicking up the music scene yet again.

Now months after the release of their first album, “The Beginning”, and yet only one live performance (at the KBS 2010 Acting Awards), most would not be surprised if the boys were a bit frustrated. However, the reality? They are optimistic, learning, and growing from the challenges.

In a statement released by a JYJ official, the group says: “Because of our lack of freedom to meet our fans through TV, we had to think of different routes to be connected with them. New concepts like our music essay, visiting shows that are not frequented by celebrities, and trying new things have taught us a great deal.”

After being released just three days ago on January 24th, JYJ’s “Music Essay” has already sold 150,000 copies and has taken over the #1 spot on the Bestseller’s List- without any of the traditional on-air promotions )

T-ara’s Eunjung revealed herself to be a hardcore fan of the famous band ‘Jang Giha and Faces‘ by leaving a heartwarming series of fan tweets, as well as a personal letter towards the band, on her Twitter.

On January 27th, she wrote, “Jang Giha and Faces, if for just one day I cannot listen to their songs, I lose strength. How do I phrase this… their music is like a book for your mind and soul. A book that is like a strong pillar of support that helps you stand your ground.”

She continued, “Their characteristic beats don’t have a set rhythm and raise my fun gauge so well. I bought the songs ‘I Left Something Important in the Room of the one I Broke Up With,’ ‘An Alien Will Abduct Me,’ and ‘Space Behind Your Mom‘ for my mini-homepage.”

Eunjung then left a letter to Jang Giha by writing, “To Jang Giha oppa. I’m not writing this in promotion, for real. For just once, wear what you usually wear, your jeans and converse, a hoodie… and perform. You look 15.4x younger and more handsome. They say your album has sold out, but could I not buy any that are in your office?… How about an autograph?

Jang Giha personally responded to her message by tweeting back, “Thank you. I’ll give you one next time. With our first and second album together. In March, we’re even releasing our third album.” Eunjung replied, “That’s great. But like promised, please let me listen to your second album. Otherwise I’ll sit in front of your office wearing a mask.”

Onlooking netizens comented, “Eunjung must really be a fan,” “Even idols are fans of artists, very cool,” and “I want to see Eunjung wearing a mask in front of his office!

Actor Kim Soo Hyun recently participated in a “Dream High” press conference with his fellow castmates, and he delivered an interview that left reporters feeling like this young star was wiser than his years.

Kim Soo Hyun began with his reflections on how the drama is faring in ratings. “I’m happy the ratings are going up, but the actors and the staff are not quite satisfied yet”. He added, “I would like to see the drama do well. We will show you a youth drama overflowing with passion and fighting spirit".

Kim continued, “Until now, I’ve only acted, but singers have to act while singing and dancing on stage. I can feel them fill the screen with energy just from their performances alone. It was hard for me to bring myself up to par with my singer co-stars, but I think I will have learned a huge lesson by the end of this project”.

Reporters then turned to the topic of his rivalry with 2PM’s Taecyeon, who plays ‘Jin Gook’. “On screen, Taecyeon and I have an interesting tension through eye contact alone. So even when we’re not shooting, I tend to keep looking at him.” Then he jokingly added, “When I turn around, I want to see him again!”

Kim was then asked who his ideal girl was out of all of his idol co-stars. Replying with much wit, he answered Suzy in the spring, Eun Jung in the summer, IU in the fall, and Taecyeon in the winter.”

On an episode of Cable TV E Channel’s “Poker Face,” singer Kim Jong Min revealed a story when singers Kangta and Shin Hye Sung almost got banned from departing from an airport in China.

Kim Jong Min revealed a story about a time when he went with Kangta and Shin Hye Sung, who were working as Group S during that time and went to China for a concert. Because fans paralyzed the airports to see Group S, the Chinese airport securities were struggling with Shin Hye Sung and it resulted in them grabbing Shin Hye Sung by the throat.

At that moment, Kangta appeared like lightning and protected Shin Hye Sung by grabbing the police by their necks. Sadly, his actions got the airport security upset and they almost put a ban on Kangta’s departure until he apologized.

The situation almost resulted in Kangta receiving a departure ban and getting dragged off by the airport security, but while the managers were apologizing, Shin Hye Sung and Kangta were able to quickly get on a plane and return safely to Korea.

The episode of "Poker Face" will be air on January 29 at midnight.

Only a handful of reporters were at Samsung's booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month when Jay Y. Lee dropped by.

They had been tipped that the sheltered heir to the Samsung business empire was about to make his first public appearance since his father named him one of the new presidents of the conglomerate's flagship, Samsung Electronics, in December.

Most of the Korean media contingent eagerly awaiting his appearance at the show had been diverted to another news conference. They didn't miss much. Jay Lee's remarks were brief and bland. He mainly wanted to make it clear his ambition was to be a chip off the old (and equally aloof) block.

Back in Las Vegas, Jay Lee strolled over to the booths of his Japanese rivals after chatting with the Korean reporters. He was especially interested in the 3D televisions that can be viewed without those goofy glasses. Samsung doesn't offer one, at least yet.

He then donned some stereoscopic spectacles and sat down to watch Panasonic's 3D, along with Choi, the Samsung vice chairman, and the TV chief, B.K. Yoon. They can only hope he will see Samsung's future in such dimension and high definition.

Dancing with the Stars has given tube time to some former movie stars, but who knew the show would be so good at launching movie careers? Derek Hough, who as a regular dance partner has cut the rug with three winning contestants (Nicole Scherzinger, Brooke Burke and most recently Jennifer Grey) will star in Cobu 3D. The film that will team him with BoA, a top recording artist and performer in Asia. Duane Adler, who wrote Save the Last Dance and Step Up, will direct his screenplay. The film will be produced by Robert Cort, who worked with Adler on Save the Last Dance. Korea's CJ Entertainment and SM Entertainment will start principal photography in Toronto and New York this spring, while Hough is on hiatus from the show.

BoA and Hough will play dancers from different worlds whose Romeo & Juliet-like romance is threatened by the dangerous rivalry between their brothers' competing dance clubs in Gotham's underground scene.

Cort is producing with Soo Man Lee, Eric Hetzel and Patricia Chun. Lionsgate will handle international sales on the film, excluding the territories that CJ will take--South Korea, Japan and China. Sales will begin in Berlin.

Hough's sister Julianne, was also a regular dancer on Dancing with the Stars before she left after landing the female lead in Paramount's remake of Footloose. Derek Hough actually made his name by starring in Footloose: The Musical on London's West End. As for BoA, she is Asia's top recording artist, selling over 20 million records in Korea and Japan.
