Se7en to perform at G-Dragon's concert

Se7en will be making his official return to the k-pop scene at G-Dragon's first solo concert (Shine a light) on December 5th and 6th at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.

G-Dragon stated his enthusiasm: "This is my first solo concert and I wanted Se7en to perform as a guest badly, as I was so close with him during my training years, but I couldn't say anything and waited patiently."

Se7en stated: "I was very close with G-Dragon during our younger years, and since this is his first solo concert, it's an absolute must that I be there (to support). I'm currently figuring out which songs to perform and will be practicing."

YG Entertainment stated: "Since this is Se7en's return to the stage in a very long time, we are putting lots of consideration into which songs he will perform. We are even considering the new songs that he has been working on."

Big news for YG Entertainment, looks like the demand for G-Dragon's first solo concert just got even hotter.

U-Kiss album released

Earlier today, U-Kiss released their new mini album titled Conti U Kiss coinciding with the release of their music video and comeback stage on M! Countdown. The mini album contains four tracks, I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it but it seems to be getting some good initial feedback. Are you guys ready for some more Child of Empire?

These boys have been fairly low profile due to Star Empire having financial struggles, but they still manage to show up on our radar every now and then.

That doesn't mean they haven't been busy though. Child of Empire has been promoting through wingcar performances and parodies to reach their goal of "gaining 100,000 fans" prior to their official debut at the end of November.

But with limited financial support and not much differentiation from the other more polished boy bands, will Child of Empire have what it takes to pull Star Empire out of the gutter? We're not sure, but perhaps fans will feel sympathetic for these boys and show them some love, as that is the approach they seem to be taking.

In relation to this article on problems with single parenthood in South Korea, there are some positive changes under works:

More State Support for Single Moms Planned

The government is moving to offer more support to single mothers as part of efforts to encourage them to keep their own babies, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) said Thursday.

The body also plans to help adoptees find their biological parents by improving systems and documentation, a spokesman said.

"Once the recommendations are accepted, more single mothers can keep their children through subsidies," he said.

The commission advised related ministries, including the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Justice, to offer subsidies so that single parents can find a place to raise their babies.

Tang Wei selected as Hyun Bin’s leading lady

Casting has been confirmed and Hyun Bin will in fact be acting alongside Lust, Caution actress Tang Wei in his new movie, the remaking of 1966’s classic Late Autumn (aka Manchu, 만추).

The plot features a three-day love story between a woman who is let out of prison on a special leave and a young man who is on the run from pursuers. The original, now lost, is considered one of the best of its lauded director Lee Man-hee’s prolific but short-lived career. It had been remade twice before (in 1975 as Promise of the Flesh and 1981 as Late Autumn) and even once in Japan as 1972’s Promise. (In fact, Promise of the Flesh was directed by the famous Kim Ki-young, who had previously made The Housemaid, which is regarded as one of Korea’s best films and is the source material for Jeon Do-yeon’s upcoming remake.)

Late Autumn/Manchu will be shot in the U.S. by Korean director Kim Tae-young, but both stars will be acting in English. CEO Lee Joo-ik of production company Boram Films said, “We’ve thought carefully about what we can do to make our film connect with the rest of the world, and it seems like just yesterday that we’d gone to the U.S. to location scout five years ago, but now that we’re really going to the States to begin filming, the feeling is remarkable.”

The film will begin shooting at the end of the month and release in 2010.

Son Dambi-After School 2009 MAMA Non-Attendance

The 2009 MAMA (Mnet Asia Music Awards) have been plagued with bad news from the very beginning and here's some more.

Along with the two trot singers and SM Entertainment boycotting the MAMA's, Pledis Entertainment and their stars After School and Son Dambi have announced that they will not be attending the award show as well.

Pledis Entertainment stated:

"Because of Son Dambi's concert in LA, she will be abroad. After School is currently finishing up preparations for their next album to be released towards the end of November, therefore it will be difficult to attend.

Although Pledis is not boycotting, their stars won't be able to attend and quite frankly, it seems they don't believe the MAMA's are very significant anyway.

Suju Eunhyuk "Anchovy", FT Island Jonghoon "Cutlass fish" alliance

Super Junior Eunhyuk has gave FT Island Jonghoon the nickname "Cutlass fish" on the show KBS Drama "Super Junior's miracle" which will be aired on November 7th.

When talking about how becoming a singer affect your daily life, Jonghoon asked Eunhyuk "I want to gain weight" which Eunhyuk said "I have the same problem. Do you know any effective method for this ?", Jonghoon then admited "I has tried to eat a lot of ramen before sleep but I cant gain weight at all".

After hearing the answer, Eunhyuk had nod his head and said "So I will recommend a character to you. I was called 'Anchovy' " and asked Jonghoon to choose one among the nickname "Anchovy, Cutlass fish, Flying fish". Jonghoon said "I have seen Cutlass fish before", thus choosing that nickname among the three which made everybody laughing.

Then Eunhyuk said to Jonghoon "I want to be a main MC like Leeteuk hyung" which Jonghoon answered "So let's continue with your 'Anchovy' character and loose more weight than (you are) now".

The show will be aired at 8.00PM on November 7th.




Anchovy, Cutlass fish and Flying fish are all kind of fish that have long and thin body, like a tall and skinny person, I think that's why Eunhyuk got that nickname and also why he made Jonghoon chose one of the nickname ._____.

2AM’s Jinwoon had Swine Flu?

How come nobody knew about this?

After 2AM's Jo Kwon was diagnosed with Swine Flu on October 27th, the rest of the 2AM members were tested and Jinwoon was diagnosed positive on November 1st.

JYP Entertainment stated to Newsen on the 6th:

"Jinwoon took tamiflu and was tested again on the 5th with Jo Kwon. Results came in on the 6th and everyone is now cured. The rest of the members are also in good condition."

Well, that's good news, I guess I can't wish him a speedy recovery since he's already cured though.

SHINee JongHyun confirmed to have recovered fully from swine flu

Group SHINee member JongHyun has been known to be given the green light that he has fully recovered from swine flu.

According to SM Ent, JongHyun has gone to the hospital on 6th November and has been said to have fully recovered from swine flu.

The SM Ent representative said, “Even though he has been given the confirmation from the hospital that he has fully recovered of the flu, he is currently resting at home to monitor his health condition. And as for when he will be returning to SHINee’s promotional schedules, we are still in discussion over it.”

JongHyun was not present at SHINee’s performance on KBS Music Bank on the 6th. He was found to have contracted the flu on 3rd November.

Meanwhile, SHINee also won their 2nd consecutive #1 on Music Bank with their current hit ‘Ring Ding Dong’

5 Decades of Korean Girl Bands

The Kim Sisters were arguably the first girl group in the history of Korean popular music. They debuted in their teens in the early 1950s, and were extremely popular among U.S. soldiers stationed in Korea. They played many instruments and danced, and enjoyed substantial success in the United States when they debuted there in 1959. After returning to Korea in 1970, they released a number of hit songs.

Hoping to emulate the Kim Sisters' success, there were many new "sister" groups from the late 1950s.

Six membered 2PM, expected to make their comeback mid November, has been revealed after the long months of being hidden behind a veil.

The night of the 6th on cable channel's OnStyle, 2PM revealed their advertisement filming through 'Star Magazine 2009.'

This is the first time that 2PM has shown themselves after their leader abruptly left the group. It marked the 60 day anniversary of his leave. The members were seen filming for an organic food brand.

Junho, Taecyeon, NichKhun, Chansung, Wooyoung, and Junsu were wearing a black and white concept outfit and smiled a lot of the camera, showing their brighter side. Junho was so into the filming that he even accidentally ripped his own shirt.

2PM looked healthy and charismatic, showing off their bodies with well defined muscles. During the interview, the members each introduced a short description of their styles and revealed make up tips.

Netizens welcomed the boys after not having seen them for so long. Some fans even mentioned that their finishing greeting was a bit disappointing, as the leader's empty spot could be felt more clearly.

SNSD Seohyun, Yuri passed Dongguk Uni. entrance exams

SNSD Seohyun and Yuri, Bigbang Seungri have passed the university entrance exams for DongGuk University.

On the 5th, Dongguk university had said that "SNSD Seohyun, Yuri, Bigbang Seungri have all passed the last exams for the 2010 admittance to Dongguk University."

Seohyun, Yuri, Seungri managed to get a place in the 2010 intake for the acting major despite the 10.67:1 ratio for that course.

Prior to this, both Yuri and Seungri had both scored a place in the theatre department in ChungAng University.

Girl group SNSD member, Tiffany's ideal man is Jo Kwon.

For the Hello Baby episode on the 17th, SNSD Sooyoung revealed that "Tiffany's ideal man is Jo Kwon" when she was playing truth game with Leessang's Gil. This lead to Tiffany blushing.

In this broadcast, SNSD Seohyun had also picked Key from SHINee as the member that she is awkward with. She said "We are in the same company, but even though a few of us are of the same age, we didn't go beyond formal greetings."

Miryo Takes a Tumble for the Group

Brown Eyed Girls are known for their flawless performances, but eventually a day will come when one performance will ruin that record.

At the DaeJong Film Awards, Brown Eyed Girls performed their hit song "Abracadabra." The girls seemed more nervous performing in front of this crowd in comparison to their usual crowd, which might have been the reason for this mishap. After GaIn's sexy dance, it was Miryo's turn to deliver her rap. Miryo decided to use the stage to her "disadvantage" to hype the crowd. As she was making her way to the stage, she ended up tripping up the stairs. Poor Miryo. She is a badass woman, one little fail is not going to hurt her image, but you cannot help but feel bad for her.

JY Park to Return with December album!

Park Jin Young, more familiarly known to our readers as JYP, is releasing an album in December. This is his first return in nearly two years as an artist.

It has been confirmed that the well-known artist will hold a tour named "Bad Party - Heartless, love doesn't exist anymore" right after releasing a new album. Back in November 2007, he had released a new album called Back to stage and toured four major cities in Korea. Just as he did with that album, JY Park is expected to hold a short but intense promotion.

When he finished up his 7th album promotion, he had promised that he would not come back until a Korean name got on the Billboard chart. With the Wonder Girls' recent achievement, he has fulfilled that promise and is now able to return to Korea for a new album. It is not decided yet whether it will be a full album or a mini album, but details will be released in early December
