Big Bang to release 2nd Japanese single ‘Ga Ra Ga Ra GO!’

Popular group Big Bang, with the release of their debut single ‘My Heaven’ on coming 24th June, will appear on Japanese TV show as well.

On the day of their single release, they will be performing ‘My Heaven’ for the first time on morning show ‘Mezamashiterebi’ (correct me on the name if I’m wrong).

Previously, leader GDragon has already performed with Japanese group W-inds on NHK Music Japan, but this will be the first time that the whole group will be on Japanese broadcast programme together.

Big Bang will also release a 2nd single ‘Ga Ra Ga Ra GO!!’ on 8th July. And on that day, they will also be having a large-scale event in Tokyo Yoyogi national park.

SNSD, Participates in a Campaign to help out Adopted Children

Female Group SNSD will be taking part in a campaign to help adopted children.

SNSD recently conducted the campaign 'The Sweet Love' with the Warner Bros' character Tweety in Vogue Fashion Magazine's July Edition. This event is an annual event that gets celebrities involved with helping to raise the awareness of both foreign and Korean adopted children. The purpose of this event is to bring the children to attention and provide care for them.

The news is that SNSD will be participating in this campaign despite their busy schedules and preparations for the 2nd mini album.

On the other hand, the campaign with Warner Bros' Tweety will be carried out through October. The funds raised will be donated to the Korean Society Restoration Association.

Lee Shi Young talks about her relationship with Junjin for the first time on YSMM2

Newcomer actress Lee Shi Young – who has become the talk of the town after they announced their relationship on 19th June – spoke about their relationship for the first time on SBS variety show Yashimmanman 2 (YSMM2).

According to a member of the YSMM2 production crew, Lee Shi Young was the guest for the episode of YSMM2 that was recorded on 18th June, and she talked candidly about her relationship with boyfriend Junjin.

Lee Shi Young was inundated with the MCs’ questions about the dating rumours that have surrounded them since April, and being at a loss she said, “It’s true that (Junjin) is someone I like very much”, indirectly putting their relationship into the open.

After this, the MCs fired a series of questions at her, such as “What do you like about Junjin? How long have you been seeing each other? Did Junjin give you any advice for your first appearance on YSMM2?”. Lee Shi Young answered the questions candidly and showed her special affections for Junjin.

SM Entertainment’s Stock Value Rises To 12 Billion In 6 Months

SM Entertainment, who manages popular groups and artistes like Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, Dong Bang Shin Ki and more, has seen an increase in it’s stock value – to reach ₩12 Billion.

At Noon, on the 17th, SM Entertainment announced the increase of ₩ 19,100,000,000. The company’s President, Lee Soo Man, holds 27% of the shares.

On 2 January 2009, the first trading day of the year, SM’s stock was valued at ₩6,860,000,000. They have managed to reach their target of hitting ₩12 Billion within 6 months.

The increase of SM Entertainment’s stock value by more than 50% in the first half of the year is mostly due to the many activities by Girls’ Generation and Super Junior.

One of the largest shareholders being Bae Yong Jun, Keyeast Co’s shares rose to ₩4,000,000,000 and Rain’s company J-Tune Entertainment’s shares rose to ₩2,400,000,000.

Super Junior EunHyuk, Leeteuk, Shindong & Kangin have become child star Wang SeokHyun's uncles for one day.

On the filming of KBS2TV entertainment show "I got an Uncle" recently which is Wang SeokHyun's 7th birthday, but since Lee HwiJae is busy with his schedule, he had asked Super Junior for help. Therefore, Shindong, Kangin, Leeteuk & Eunhyuk had become Wang SeokHyun's uncles for one day.

For his birthday party, 4 members had prepared different gifts. Shindong did magic, Eunhyuk had learnt balloon art, Kangin inhaled the helium gas and sang a children comic song, Leeteuk prepared a video msg of Wang SeokHyun's most favorite member in SNSD.

The show will be aired at 6.30PM on June 20th.

SJ vs. SS501, arriving together on 27th, fans rallying support

Super Junior, with the exception of Kibum, will be taking part in Taiwan Golden Melody Awards with 12 members.

SS501 will be lead by leader Kim Hyun Joong to meet fans in Taiwan.

South Korea's top 2 idol groups Super Junior and SS501, will be arriving on 27th noon to take part in Golden Melody Awards and hold a fan meeting respectively, but according to credible sources, both groups' flight will arrive at 11:05am together, and it's expected that fans will create a chaos.

This time Super Junior will be missing 1 member, Kibum will not be following due to drama preparations, it'll be the first visit to Taiwan for pretty boy Heechul, and the group of 12 is expected to arrive on 27th noon to participate in the red carpet of the Golden Melody Awards on the same day, they'll also be performing songs from their new album such as "It's you", "Sorry, sorry" etc.

Tears fall for 4Minute HyunA to have come back after 2 years.

HyunA had her comeback after leaving group WonderGirls after 2 years with group 4Minute performing their debut stage with ‘Hot Issue’ on 18th June on Mnet M!Countdown.

And after the performance, HyunA was tearing in the backstage, she was seen overwhelmed by emotions. People around also encouraged her on seeing her tearing, “You did well”.

HyunA said betweens tears, “I’m really both relieved and sad.” This is her dream and her comeback stage after 2 years, and she had wanted it to be her best as well.

Singer K.will (케이윌) will make an appearance at Lee Min-ho's fan meeting to support his buddy. The singer is now known as Lee Min-ho's vocal trainer as he helped Min-ho prepare for his first track My Everything (F4 Special Edition album). Technically, it's Min-ho's second song attempt but I don't consider the CASS beer ad digital single real singing.

Come to think of it, that was the peak of Hallyu, the Korean wave, as we now look back to those days, wondering if the same heat will ever be rekindled.

Less than 10 years after the term Hallyu was first coined to define South Korea's cultural influence cross borders, the wave has fizzled to something a lot less powerful.

The growth of South Korea's exports of cultural contents, including everything from books to films, is still increasing annually, according to the latest government data, but the margin is steeply narrowing every year.
