Group SHINee released the narration teasers to their upcoming 2nd album on 13th May night on their official website (http://shinee.smtown.com).

For their new album, the concept will be ‘21-year-old Romeo’, and showing a new and different sides to the SHINee members. Also the new album makes use of the Shakespeare's ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and the SHINee members will be the Romeos confessing their love to their Juliets.

Their 2nd mini-album will be released on 21st May.

I The Tri Top's silent comeback

‘I the Tri tops’ was originally a 3 member boy band that debuted in 2007 with their 1st album ‘Green Frog’. The group didn’t get much of a spotlight in the music scene and simply disappeared like the morning fog.

However, this past May 12th, ‘I the Tri tops’ made a quiet comeback as a duo with their new digital single, ‘To my girlfriend’. Bahn Hyung-moon, the leader of the group, composed and wrote the lyrics for their new single which is a medium tempo ballad. Surprisingly, the duo doesn’t sound too shabby and their voices actually compliment each other. And it’s nice to see a cute little boy band stray from all the electronically enhanced pop music. The duo will have their first comeback stage on ‘KBS-Music Bank’ May 22nd. Just a little eyecandy for any ‘I the Tri tops’ Jang Yoo-joon fans lingering on POPSEOUL!. The pretty boy recently had a small part in the drama ‘My precious you’ as an aspiring singer and sang a short verse from Kim Hyun-chul’s ‘Because i’m a fool’. The cutie actually did a very good job adding his own color to the song.

Annnd some more info. They're releasing a single now and another one in June because they don't have enough money to make a whole album. No news if they're making a MV, but their comeback stage is on the 22th at Music Bank. Ilgoon is not participating this time, but he's not officially out of the group.

SS501 Park Jungmin, Romance With Stewardess?

Idol group SS501 member Park JungMin answered to the question about his “pink light” (romance/scandal) with a stewardess who is a former bank staff. Park JungMin appeared for MBC Radio Star to be broadcasted on 13-May and addressed to fans’ concern with an open attitude.

Park JungMin revealed that he often goes to the bank, and one pretty bank staff told him that she is his fan and turned her computer monitor to reveal Park JungMin’s wallpaper.

The other guests’ romance story were being pursued on, and under serious pursuing, Park JungMin revealed that the bank he went to is ChungDamDong branch and the lady had resigned from the bank and is currently a stewardess for Korean Air. And it made the others speculate that he is in a ‘pink light’ (romance) mode when he said he still contacts her occasionally. Towards the end of the show, Shin JungHwan asked ‘What is stewardess to Park JungMin?’, he hesitated to this question before replying “I miss her” and surprised the others.

‘Park JungMin’ had been the popular search word over the internet after the broadcast and showed that there are huge interests on this.

Solbi on a mission to transform into a ‘beautiful artiste’

Singer Solbi has revealed that she has gone for plastic surgery because of her status as an entertainer.
She said on ‘SBS One Night’s TV’ on 13th May, “Because of my status as an entertainment, the pressure to become prettier will never stop. If you have one image for too long, it becomes too tiresome. Hence I went for changing my looks in search for a fresh new image.”

She said, “Beauty is inevitably one of the criteria people use to measure female entertainers. I will hide all the issue with plastic surgery till now, I will show everyone my true and frank approach instead. People who like me will not dislike me just because I went under the knife for my looks.”
And then, “My sister told me I did well and said that she like me as her sibling. My parents did not say a word. I am very satisfied now.”
Meanwhile, Solbi is undergoing diet for Mnet ‘Ice Princess’ currently and is promoting her song ‘Will Be Punished’.

Okay, it's time for me to start my own plagiarism controversy -- I posted IU's Boo on Twitter earlier and one of my friends pointed out that it sounds just like an old Debbie Gibson song called Only In My Dreams.

I was skeptical, but whoa. If you listen to the original with singing it's meh, but OMG I found a karaoke version on youtube, and you can sing Boo to it and it sounds completely natural, it's like the exact same song. Check it out.

The cast and crew of upcoming movie A Billion completed filming on May 6. Beginning on February 22, they shot for two and a half months in Seoul and on location in Australia.

A Billion is the story of eight reality show contestants who experience close encounters with death while competing for 1,000,000,000 won in a game of survival. The film has a well-known cast – Park Hae Il (32), Park Hee Soon (39), Shin Mina (25), Lee Min Ki (24), Jung Yu Mi (26), Lee Chun Hee (30), and Go Eun Ah (20).

I confess I don’t always know what the exact deal is with some of these campaigns — they seem well-meaning, if a little nebulous — but I’ll take whatever opportunity to post pictures of singer Sean’s redonkulously adorable family.

The daddy to two young children (his third with wife Jung Hye-young is on the way) had son Ha-rang and daughter Ha-eum with him for the Cotton Day 2009 event on the 14th, at the Grand Ballroom of Seoul’s Chosun Hotel.

Sean and Jung Hye-young are ambassadors (publicity reps) for the event, which is held throughout Asia by Cotton Incorporated as a way of raising the visibility of cotton textiles.

A main point to this year’s event was the “family look” concept, which was the focus of a fashion show featuring the work of several design teams. Sean designed his own family look and wore the special edition printed T-shirts with his children; afterward, the clothes were auctioned off for charity to benefit child welfare.

Only less than 2 weeks after releasing and promoting their new song Women's Generation, MNET Media's new project group of SeeYa, Davichi and Ji Yeon (T-ara) will be promoting another song, Forever Love from their digital album together with a entirely new wardrobe (check out the pictures below). Women's Generation and their new song Forever Love is essentially the same but with different lyrics. And so they have make a entirely new version of Forever Love this time, complete with a 180° transformation into a more summery all-whitish feel as seen from their new outfits. They will start to promote their new song starting with MNET M! Countdown on 14th May.

I guess everyone wants to have a memorable wedding photo, and this looks kinda cute.

Some people, like actor Jung Tae-woo, go for vintage hanboks, while others, like popular comedian and TV host Yoo Sae-yoon (above), opt instead for… mimicking a popular movie poster?

Yoo, the variety show personality of Music Bank and This is the Era of the Pretty Boy, is pictured here with bride-to-be Hwang Kyung-hee (she’s a kindergarten teacher), recreating the movie poster for the recent film Antique Bakery (original at right).

Yoo Sae-yoon and his fiancée will marry on May 17 and honeymoon in Saipan.

2AM Changmin and 2PM Wooyoung talked about their fans on Star Golden Bell.

Changmin revealed that an elementary school teacher has become 2AM fan.

He said that the teacher excluded her students and came to us. "She brought out a sheet of paper and asked for autographs." Changmin made audience in the studio laugh by saying "It looked like an accounting paper."

Also, 2PM Wooyoung added "there were some fans who proposed to me with their bankbooks. Sometimes, I fluttered with those proposes."

This funny episode of 'Star Golden Bell" will be aired on KBS2 this Saturday 16th May, at 5:15 pm Korean time.

Thirst and Mother at Cannes International Film Festival

Two Korean films have been chosen for the official selection of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival (13 - 24 May, 2009). The films are Thirst (directed by Park Chan-wook) and Mother (directed by Bong Joon-ho).

Park Chan-wook's vampire thriller has been selected to run for best film (the prestigious Palme d’Or prize) while Bong Joon-ho's Mother will compete in the young, innovative and challenging work category.

I like to go around Korean online malls, and got a pleasant surprise at 4EVAMALL (not kidding, that's really the name lol)

The mall has a side campaign "WE (HEART) DOG" affectionately featuring people who love their dogs-- most of them work behind the scenes, like make up artists or photographers. And there are models, students etc. and then there's our favorite Ms Hyori. :D

I totally checked through all the posts on Omona tagged as "lee hyori" to make sure this hasn't been posted before since I am not sure of when the campaign was out. Sorry if this is like old news or something :|
