Actor Park Shin-yang Wins Legal Battle

Actor Park Shin-yang won his lawsuit against a drama production firm for a performance fee.

The Seoul Central District Court ruled Friday that the drama production agency should pay 386 million won ($306,700) to Park for starring in four additional episodes of the hit TV drama "War of Money" in 2007.

The 41-year-old filed the suit against the agency last December after it refused to pay the contracted fee for the additional episodes.

The agency alleged Park tried to capitalize on the drama's high popularity by asking for too much money. It also claimed the fee he had received per regular episode be equally applied to the additional episodes because they are part of the drama.

It is well known that singer Son Dam-bi dons a corset on stage since her comeback in May last year. But few can deny that it's cute the way the singer tightens a miniature corset around a bottle of Today's Tea in her latest commercial.

While modern corsets lack the uncomfortable body-shaping functions of their Victorian counterparts, they remain an enduring symbol of the pressures women can be under to conform to often impossible ideals of appearance. And despite its lightheartedness, this commercial provides an excellent illustration of a distinctly Korean spin on this.

Academy Award-winning special effects designer John Gaeta (Matrix, Speed Racer) talks with Boing Boing about the technology and the human talent behind the forthcoming movie Ninja Assassin, directed by James McTeigue.

Due in theaters this fall, director James McTeigue's Ninja Assassin follows the story of Raizo (played by Asian mega-popstar Rain), one of the world's most deadly assassins. As Gaeta explains in this video, the movie merges blindingly badass Bruce-Lee-esque martial arts stunt work with tastefully integrated "virtual" work.

YG, “We didn’t know of GDragon’s short cameo act in ‘Fire’ MV until fans pointed it out”

With the release 2NE1’s ‘Fire’ MV, many fans pointed out the cameo appearance of Big Bang member GDragon.

There were 2 versions to the MV revealed on 6th May – space and street version, which got 1.5 and 1 million views on GomTV as of 9th May. While on other portal sites, the MVs were said to have attracted more than 2.5 milion views.

With that many netizens and fans caught the 2 seconds cameo apperance of Big Bang GDragon for the street version of the MV, doing his comical act behind member Gong MinJi.

But YG Entertainment said, “We did not know of GDragon’s cameo comic act behind member Gong MinJi for the street version of the MV as pointed out by Big Bang fans. It was because he was behind Gong MinJi and his appearance was so short.”

“But with the release of the MV online, Big Bang fans were fast to spot him in the MV. And it quickly became a topic amongst netizens and fans on the internet.”

The YG representative said, “GDragon went to the filming spot for the MV filming to give support to the 2NE1 members whom he is close to. And with no earlier plans for it, he went directly for a cameo appearance to show support to 2NE1.”.

Tears and hugs for Fly To The Sky’s last activity

Male duo group Fly To The Sky goes on a farewell trip ending their 10 years of promoting together on SBS Close Note, aired on 8th May.

The 2 of them met in 1998, and debut together as Fly To The Sky in 1999. It has been a 11-year friendship and hardship for them.

HwanHee said during their last broadcast activity on the show, “Just 2 of us, there has been a period of 4-5 years which was really hard for us.”

When asked, “What is Fly To The Sky’s hit song?” and the answer was ‘Missing You’. There has also been a lot of talk about their bad times together. They also did a game where they had to get very intimate with their different body parts like hip, ears or calf together while playing a basketball match.

Also close friends WheeSung and Lyn were present and the 2 talked about the time when they found it tough as their personalities are different, and also about things they never told each other. Like how HwanHee would get angry whenever Brian mimicks his singing, or when Brian felt sorry he had to leave HwanHee to sleep alone in their dormitary when he is out meeting girls.

2NE1 will have their friends YG Family under the YG Entertainment company mobilised for their debut stage.

They will have their debut stage on SBS Inkigayo on 17th May after successfully releasing their MVs and digital single last 6th May.

There are plans for other YG artistes to appear and support their debute stage that day. Also their producer Teddy of 1TYM is said to be also appearing for their debut stage.

Already, their MVs revealed on the 6th have caused such a topic and raisedon interests on the internet. The MV attracted more than 2 million views in just 1 day into its release. And the song ‘Fire’ is currently the hot track up #1 on various music charts like Dosirak, CyWorld, SoriBadi and Bugs.

On May 6, blog Army Inside gave readers a glimpse into Jae Hee’s army life through an interview with the actor.



Jae-Hee introduced himself as Private Lee Hyun Kyun (pronounced Ee Hyeon Gyoon). His duties include educational training and managing the exposives and ammunition required in case of war.

Singer-turned-actor Kim Jung Hoon, who recently enlisted to serve the military service on 28th April, left cute messages for fans who sent in fanletters for him.

He is currently receiving his 5 weeks of basic training in the army, after which he will serve the army for 2 years.

He wrote on his official fancafe, “Because there are lots of tasty food, I think I put on some weight. I’m very healthy right now. Thank you”, “I also want to see (the official photos of my training). I hope they turned out well, hmm”, “I heard fans who are following me now are all female university students”.

Seohyun of SNSD cried endlessly after a pillow fight against Tiffany.

The members of SNSD paired up and conducted pillow fights as a way to drag out the inner emotions for the MBC 'Horror Film Factory' which will be airing on the 10th.

Tiffany and Seohyun conducted an intense pillow fight and Seohyun cried to her heart's content after a fierce hit from Tiffany.

Gu Hye-sun arrives late for Tango autograph session

Boys Over Flowers actress Gu Hye-sun (25) arrived 30 minutes late for her book signing event at the Kyobo Bookstore in Jamsil, Seoul on April 9.

The multi-talented actress wrote Tango while filming the highly-popular drama. The book, which is about a girl experiencing love and heartache, comes with 40 illustrations by Gu herself.
