Jae Hee Inside the Army
2009-05-09 09:57 pmOn May 6, blog Army Inside gave readers a glimpse into Jae Hee’s army life through an interview with the actor.

Jae-Hee introduced himself as Private Lee Hyun Kyun (pronounced Ee Hyeon Gyoon). His duties include educational training and managing the exposives and ammunition required in case of war.
As a soldier in the area of ammunition management, Jae-hee handles ammunition by storing what is required for battles and removing used ammunition so that everything is ready for use in any situation.

In the interview he said, “I think military life is a time that strengthens one’s self-confidence. I think I’ll become stronger from the fact that I successfully completed every male of the Republic of Korea must do. Also, I think you can learn patience and an open heart while getting to know many people within the army and forming ties with them.”
Regarding his recently completed run of the musical, Mine, he explained, “I really had no idea that I would come to the army and do a musical…. Altough the singing was fine, my body wouldn’t move like I wanted it to during dancing scenes for my role as a B-Boy (breakdancing) team leader.” Jae-Hee admitted that he had to practice three times the amount that others did [to reach the required dancing level].

Jae-Hee wrapped up the interview in concern for his mother: “My mother and I – just the two of us – make up our family. At first my mother cried a lot and such, but since her son is doing well, I’d like it if she takes care to eat well and stay healthy.”

Jae-Hee last appeared in the 2008 film Mandate: Mission from God, just as he enlisted. He has appeared in numerous dramas and movies such as Delightful Girl Choon Hyang, 3-Iron (also known as Empty House), and The Art of Fighting. His first post-military project, Flower – Attack of the Butterfly with Lee Mi Sook, is already lined up.

Date: 2009-05-09 04:48 pm (UTC)Word! But I think GY is still somewhat available to the public, what with his radio program and all, so maybe TPTB think that an article about him would be unnecessary? 7 more months to go, omg!
